I just don't listen to those people. The Last Person i knew somehow convinced me that attack on titan doesn't have a Plot and only is some Action trash. One day i gave it a try myself, since i thankfully always prefered to build my own opinion by giving things a chance. So, i liked it pretty much, and didn't understand why somebody would say that there isn't any plot. She always told me that she watched AoT so i just wanted to talk about what was so bad for her. She literally watched AoT. The First episode and nothing more. Wtf?

When a game becomes a job to learn how to play you really have to consider if it's worth playing. For some folks that's exactly what they want, maybe they already have an unfullfilling job and the game hits all the right notes for them. For others it's just more stress. I think the same is true for anime, if you have to actively force yourself to watch something and you're not having fun or interested in it then maybe it's not the right show for you right now. Maybe it's something you need a few years of perspective to come back to. I remember back in the day when I first saw Code Geass I couldn't stand Lelouch in the first episode and just instantly dropped it. Then I picked it up again a year or two later and realised, I just needed to get my head around the novel idea that the main character isn't necessarily a likeable one. And the rest of the show was just an absolute blast when I got through it. It was a big moment for little me. Now it's probably my favourite show in existence, just for that one moment of clarity revealing that characters don't have to be relateable to be enjoyable. I even became more comfortable with the idea of watching shows with weird and peculiar protagonists or antagonists that were absolutely nothing like anyone I would want to talk to IRL but in that show they were perfect.

When I was a teenager I spent a lot more time watching basically anything that was at least bit entertaining like Fairy tail, bleach and I don't even bloody remember what else. Then I had like a solid 4 year long period where I didn't watch any anime at all and nowadays I'm someone who doesn't really enjoy anime as a whole but I mostly just use your channel as a way to find those few shows that I do enjoy and when I enjoy an anime it's always something exceptional. The shows I've watched in my entire life that I would still call excellent can be counted with just my fingers and out of those I can only remember Ancient magus bride,Evangelion,Berserk,One punch man ''only seen season 1'' and konosuba off the top of my head and I found two of those just thanks to your channel. So as someone who has really selective taste it's really,really nice to hear people talk so openly about simply liking trash and not even giving a fuck. I don't understand why anyone would be ashamed of liking something,regardless of how ''bad'' it is. And you know what,I think I'll just give some of these bland Isekai's a chance and see if I could find at least a giggle or two from watching them.

I have a ton of shows on my "Plan to Watch List" on MAL, and it increases every month or so. Yet it takes a single KZbin clip of an anime I've never heard about or never had any interest to make me binge the whole thing in the next days or week. Cliche only exists because it works, and when used correctly it can be very effective. No matter how many times I see the "power of friendship" showing up in every damn shonen ever, I still get my eyes wet when I see a good scene using this trope. Searching for the things you think you like in any media narrows your vision, blocking the stuff you might really enjoy if you just went and tested them yourself.

the biggest problem i've found myself having with anime anymore is that i don't like watching stuff weekly. i like to binge watch it all at once after it finishes airing and that just doesn't work like it used to before this seasonal stuff. nobody talk about old anime anymore, it's just the currently airing stuff. i never hear anything about finished anime to watch and as such just never really watch anything anymore. it's a vicious cycle that just kinda feeds into itself honestly.

The most important thing is to be okay, happy with yourself; I know most people will talk and write about aired anime, but still you can find out some ppl trying to discuss non-aired anime; maybe in youtube's comments section, maybe in myanimelist or a page like it, or fb groups/pages where ppl are commenting what anime they like, what pjs they love and more. I watch both aired and non-aired anime, and I use those "zones" to share my thoughts and love from anime

Honestly, sometimes it just feels good to turn your brain off and watch a bad show. If you only watch good shows your expectations get way too high and I found that watching something mediocre for once actually makes you appreciate actually good anime even more.

I also haven't watched FMA, and for much the same reason. I got into Anime in the 90s, and there were several times I thought I was going to run out. Then they started playing Naruto and Bleach on the cartoon network, and I decided that Anime was no longer for me, and I just didn't look back... until I did, and dove straight into the trash that I loved, as well as the classics. I don't know whether you care, but watching your videos makes me feel like I've still got a link to the old days and my old friends, the ones who I've lost contact with. Keep doing what you're doing. I appreciate you.
