Oh, there’s definitely some Tim Rogers in this soup, but it’s a soup comprised of so much stuff, dude. I really responded to his unabashed positivity and his willingness to incorporate his own personal experience into his critiques (to love something is, after all, deeply personal). We also have an uncannily similar sense of humor. But I try to wear my influences on my sleeve. Like, watching Tim Rogers videos made me want to make my own videos in the same way that LotR or F:NV made me want to write my own fiction. To not be super honest about that feels like a crime to me. But, uh, the line between “deeply influenced by” and “ripping off” is razor thin, and I super don’t want to rip anyone off. I guess you’ll have to tell me if I’m doing a good job or not. I can’t tell by myself, my brain is full of noodles.
