Catching a few is far better than not going at all. I've seen you fishy from a boat, a canoe, a kayak and the bank. the canoe you have is much wider than the ones that I had and probably safer. The kayak probably offers more options on the creeks and rivers than the boat but each has their plus and minuses. I enjoy the fact that you fish with just about everything. I was never that brave around the wood from the bank, lost too many fish. While I have caught several Blues that were 80 lb plus on rod and reel, they were all on a big lake, Lake Ouachita in Arkansas. These fish never really got crazy like the smaller ones, just pulled like a freight train. My favorite catfish is the flathead, just love them. The little ones can be so beautifully camo up. I did want to ask how many rings have you gone thru? I see that you were smart enough to go with the rubber or silicon rings. I metal detect and have found hundreds of rings, rings and water equals lost rings LOL. Winter type fishing can be tough but not always. Keep them coming.

I have an early winter spot an hour south of me that is full of channels and a few 10 to 15 pound blues. Cool spot buddy. Fish seemed scattered for sure.

Great video, and I admire your determination to hang in there, and catch some fish. I was curious about something:What brand(s) of Rod and Reel, is the Combo that you were using? That looks like a setup from back a long time ago, possibly the 1970s, or the 1980s. That Reel looks like it has a different type of a build, than something more than a modern-day setup would have.
