Well said Mark ! For my part LMU allows me to race as opposed to concentrating on controlling the car. The result is closer door to door racing. Its a pleasure to follow your adversary, spot his weakness and devise a way to capitalise on it.

This game needs to grow to have more people online to save us (me) from iRacing's horrendous GT3's tyres. I can't deal with it anymore. I'm going to try LMU over this Xmas break.

Just got back into sim racing after a 30 year pause. I only play LMU now. It's the GP2 of our time. Also thanks for your videos. Some of the best LMU content.

Wow - a 30 year pause! Makes my 2-3 years seem like nothing. What was it that made you pick up your wheel again?

I'm using a Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop and open composite and its so crisp and smooth. With the physics as well I couldn't be happier. To think 6 months ago I was trying my best to like Forza Motorsport on Series X 😅

A quick addition to my comments. I race in VR, and I hear LMU is outstanding in that area, since the update. I will check that out, and hope iRacing follows suit.

What headset do you have? These are my most recent settings, if they help reduce the time it takes for you to dial yours in: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWnYo3iaeLKkfNE And yes, if your system can handle it, and you have the GPU - LMU is the cleanest VR image I've seen in any sim. AMS2 might have the most luscious, but LMU is approaching IRL picture quality if you have the GPU and headset lens to capitilise on it.

How are you finding bugs and crashing at the moment Mark? See mixed reports on forums. BTW which flight Sims are you into? I fly quite a bit of IL2
@MAWvR3ALITYКүн бұрын
The first week after the update, I had about 3-4 CTD, hanging black-screens when leaving a session, and slow session loafing. (No jinx) I’ve not had any crashes since the very latest hot fix. I’m a DCS and MSFS pilot now, they’re the only two I’ve committed to. The original iL2 looks at me from my Steam library - asking why I’ve abandoned it 😏

Thank you for the review. I'm hoping a sim can finally topple iracing & save us from the horrendous tyres, especially the atrocious GT3 tyres
@MAWvR3ALITY16 сағат бұрын
Thank you. I’m with you on that! And if it can’t topple iR, I hope it at least stops their complacency - forces them to take a significant step to overhaul their physics and graphics. An actual iRacing 2, not the 2.0 they released.

@MAWvR3ALITY As we know, they've said that they are going to update the physics. Why wasn't that done 10 years ago?!!!!! New tyre model again. They've tried that 9 times before it never worked. Going to try LeMans Ultimate. I can't stand iRacing anymore other than special events that my friends want to do.

You have my attention. I will certainly jump on LMU. I own it, but I don't have enough time to run that, and iRacing. I am not sure how to interpret your comments about driving the car(s). I assume you don't mean you prefer cars that are easier to drive? That is a response to your focus on racing/not car dynamics comments? What I want above all, with the car, is realism in the the handling etc. Soon after I began sim racing, about 3 years ago, pretty much all in iRacing, I discovered leagues in Discord. Almost all of my racing is in leagues, where I get to know my com petitiors, and enjoy camaraderie with them. If LMU doesn't have a similar option for "Private" league racing, that would essentially be a deal killer for me. Having said all that, LMU is an exciting prospect that I will put my toe into.

Hi, I go into more detail in this video (you don't have to watch it, but check out the comments): kzbin.info/www/bejne/a57IfGSsqd17ZpI It's not an easier drive in LMU, it's a more intuitive driving experiencing. Whilst this is something I've felt since day one, along with friends, it's the fact people with real-world experience echo the sentiment that underscores the point. It's all due to the physics engine in LMU, the cars respond and behave the way you would intuitively expect them to. Whether that's slip angle, braking, weight transfer, traction - everything responds the way your brain expects physics to work - based on the way physics works in reality. People will say, if you've never driven an X, Y, Z - how would you know. But people who have driven X, Y, Z are sayiing the same. David Perel says the same, and he's driven the 296 IRL. Pick any circuit you've pounded out the laps in in iRacing, ACC, etc. - pick the Mclaren 720s (free content), the baseline setup, and complete 5 laps. First laps, take note of the cold tyres. Lap 3-5, push for your life - no holding back. The 'easier' sentiment is - I'm not having to concentrate on 'particular way you have to drive - to be fast'. Instead, you drive and instuitively feel what the car is doing, and react - no conscious thought. So you push harder, taking the car to the edge of performance, instead of being afraid to find that edge. A long response, sorry - but your question deserved a thorough answer. If you don't turn a lap, an equivalent would be how good iRacing feels driving in the wet, compared to driving in the wet in other sims. Driving in the dry in LMU is the same scenario, but in reverse.
