It gives me a smile to see a couple like yours. Keep up the good work!

Hi Chako, Enjoyed another lovely video. One of the reasons I am attracted to your videos is that I sense love and caring that you and Maki extend to each other and to all of your children. One thing somewhat unique about you two, is the fact that you guys have lived both in America and in Japan as a family. Needless to say that you two appreciate the efforts of the other to adapt to the different environment. It sure appears that this keeps the bond very strong. Keep posting these lovely videos. Happy Mother’s Day, Shin from Colorado vacationing in NYC

Thanks for the compliment! We definitely are not perfect and have had to work out many differences along the way but we strive to be the best we can in our own capacities and it helps to have similar goals and mindsets. (This has taken a lot of work!)

You are a wonderful couple. I wish you all the best.
I'm glad you were able to marry Maki-san, more than I'm glad you were married to a Japanese person! I hope my daughters also meet a man like your husband.😊
From my husband's point of view. I think my husband is a meaningful life because he is a wife who can understand it. Besides, my husband is happy because he is a very beautiful and intelligent wife.
🎉 you're so blessed!! I think it's rare to find such a considerate hubby for a Japanese man. My dad was a typical stereo-type Japanese man I didn't like too much! Stubborn & selfish one, so I naturally didn't like Japanese men much. I've been married to an American man twice. 1st one didn't work... still married for 18 yrs, but now I'm married to my current wonderful hubby, who's pretty much your Maki... very thoughtful & sweet ! I'm blessed ! Anyways, I'm Happy for you two having each other ! 🎉❤😊

I thinks times are changing. I have met many younger Japanese men who are much more conscientious and considerate these days. Of course everyone is different and I don’t want to stereotype or generalize, but maybe with the influx of more western culture and more and more people going abroad or meeting people from abroad has opened up people’s hearts and minds to other ways of being and thinking. I’m glad to hear you’ve found a happy marriage with an American! As I said, there are great people to be found everywhere and we can all appreciate our similarities as well as our differences.

Wow, how can judge an entire country from your father. That's stupid.
I say Japan is the country of 3C, Clean, Calm and Convenient. These are all women prefer instinctly and especially the first one is desired for baby-raising gender historically. But there used to be few foreign girl in Japan except English teachers because above strong points weren't known and Japan was thought a dangerous country like other developing ones. English teacher girls couldn't grab Japanese boys' stomach because most of them have been Anglo-saxon. The reason why your couple is going well would be that you're a good cook, Charlotte. Be happy forever!

Interesting perspective! Maybe that’s true for some, I’m sure.

@@Chakochan-MylifeinJapan Thanks for swift reply. In addition to above my perspective, Japan is felt neat from women's view but oppressing from foreign men's view such as low ceiling, etc. Cutrent Japan is the country rather for girls. Be a successful frontier, Charlotte!
Congratulations on having an almost perfect husband. Such a husband is probably one in 10,000 Japanese people. There are very few people like this among Japanese people. Lucky choices come from your qualities. May you be forever happy.

Nobody is perfect and I am not trying to insinuate that at all. I am also not generalizing on any group of people, but I have met many other Japanese men like my husband, so I think it has more to do with meeting someone who matches you in the same way or the highest version possible.

How about dealing with kids?
@Chakochan-MylifeinJapan3 ай бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean, but if you’re asking how my husband deals with kids he’s a great dad! Maybe it’s because he from a younger generation but I’ve found more men my age and younger these days to be very open minded and supportive in a parenting role.
Japanese husbands are always subject to their wives to grave.

That's a pretty generalized comment. There are many types of people and relationships in this world. I highlighted the good points here as I experienced them myself, but others will have different experiences. None of them are right or wrong...
I think you married a very good Japanese man. However, not all Japanese men meet all of your requirements. In fact, many do not.
@Chakochan-MylifeinJapan Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’m aware of that, which is why I made the statement in the beginning that this is not meant to describe all Japanese men, and that I have heard many stories of very terrible people here (and I’ve met some as well). But there are also great people here as well and if someone is lucky they will meet the right one!
