Czech Witcher Fandom is incredible, thank you for sharing this. I do not how it looks in other countries, but it seems like one of the best Witcher communities ever. And you do a great job communicating this exeptional work.

I always wondered why no other country is doing something like this. I've seen some Witcher larps here and there but that's it. I would expect Poland especially to be as hyped as we're here about The Witcher. But I want to cover our community in detail this year on my channel so hopefully the word spreads around and people in different countries will want to do something similar 🙂

Funny. When Witcher 3 was arriving, my friends were all excited and I was cautious. I had read the books several times over and played the first game I don’t even know how much, even the original crap un-enhanced release. But Witcher 2 felt so off to me and I did not appreciate it till years later. When Witcher 3 came out, all my friends played the first area and got bored and moved on while I the skeptic went on to feel a lot of that Witcher 1 love all over again. 1 is still close to me but I’ll never forget the early days of Witcher 3, magical times. Thanks again for sharing your love for the series.

Yeah, The Witcher 1 is my favorite from the series, The Witcher 2 is my least favorite because it's the completely opposite of the first one imho and The Witcher 3 is my second favorite because it isn't as good as the first one in terms of the atmosphere but it tried its best to emulate it.
@ronaldood46788 ай бұрын
@@FolkWalkCZ agreed. However, hearts of stone may be the best Witcher story written after the books. If Witcher 3 had more moments like that story, it could have easily been better than 1.

Loved to hear your story. Witcher changed my life too. I accidentally saw a letsplay video of the Witcher III when it just came out. It sparkled my interest immediately. I wasn't really social back then, but I started to chat with people around the country. That's how my first friendships, my first love started out. We were online role-players, many of us witchers. We were playing and chatting all day and all night. We still play, though rarely. It's been almost nine years of our friendship. Damn, I love the fandom. ❤❤❤

00:19 not sure if you are aware of this and this is just a mistake or you are not aware, but the word "borrow" only means receiving something from someone for a given time (and have to give it back) eg. borrow a book from library. In other words you can only borrow from someone, you cannot borrow to someone. The word used to describe act of giving something to someone for a given (unspecified) time is "lend". eg. my library now also lends e-books. (I am not a native speaker either)

I was ignoring Witcher for a long time, I heard about some "Zaklínač" in Czech, my sister was reading it, but I thought it's just some another stupid fantasy for girls or something, it was in like 2008 when I somewhere got first game and I was like "ok, whatever, let's try it" and I immediately fell in love with that, but it took me another few years to collect all books and read them. So even for me, games were what brought me into Witcher world, but I am glad that I managed to read books already few years before W3 game before that crazy hype was around and before Witcher became mainstream. I would like to visit Blavicon one day, but there is just too many of these things - music festivals, comic-con, sometimes I want even some normal vacation like "normal" people, like go to Croatia or something...and because of my stupid work, I just can't have vacation every friday to be visiting these cons, because yes, there is some con line every weekend here in Czechia, but when it's too far from my place (central Bohemia), I have to order hotel and all these things, so I need +2 days of vacation because I can't get home in sunday....I just don't know how to manage it without taking another extra vacations all the time which I really can't as a CNC programmer, only one in whole company. I want to return to Prague one day (where I am origingally from) and I want to find some not that important work place where I can have vacation and someone can do it instead of me for few days. I really envy to those students who can go to all cons and festivals in summer, if they have money for it. You mostly have only one thing from these 2 - money, or time, not both. 😀 I am really happy that there is a proper comic-con in Prague now, that's exactly what I needed, it's in capital, so it's easy to get there and get back home, I don't even need hotels, I just jump on train and I am home in 1 hour. I would live to visit some of these Blavicons or Festival Fantazie, but I just don't know how to do it when it always takes place in some "shithole" few hours by train with several changes. Like I was going to Masters of Rick in Vizovice for years and you need whole week of vacation for that, I don't understand how these "all con people" are doing it when they are everywhere. I handled Comic-Con Junior in Brno last year, because Brno is just like 2.5 hour from Prague by train and it's easy to get there even when it's pretty far from here. If I lived directly in Prague, I would be everywhere I guess and I can't really imagine buying car just because of these cons, sometimes I am that tired that I don't understand how can these "car people" survive, I would probably hit the first tree on my way. 😀

Yeah, Blavicon was pretty witty since it sounds so close to Blaviken 😁 Con Morhen doesn't have the same ring to it unfortunately (Con and Kaer sound nothing alike) but I understand why the organizers chose it because it's recognizable and every fan of The Witcher will immediately understand that it's focused on this IP 🙂

"Used to be so pro-consumer" as If they didn't Completely change Cyberpunk from the ground up when they realised their F up and gave arguably their greatest DLC
@Pidalin8 ай бұрын
I don't trust them anymore, they completly screwed Witcher next gen update (it looks sometimes even worse than original game on ultra, but you have 1/3 FPS) and they just force you to run another stupid client to start Cyberpunk even when you have DRM free game on gog. It's not such a bug deal, you just click on PLAY there, but WHY??? This is obviously not the same company, nod the same CD Project we remember from around 2015.
@reality_is_sin8 ай бұрын
@@Pidalin Witcher next gen is absolutely better. And you can turn off the launcher for the Witcher and Cyberpunk lmao And you’re right, it’s not the same company, it’s better than it has ever been. @Pidalin8 ай бұрын
@@reality_is_sin I did pretty detailed analysis of screenshots and no, next gen doesn't look any better, it's all fake, there is just more blurry postprocessing, but actual graphics is worse. In original game, you have more detailed nature in far distance etc...Original game on ultra in 4K looks better and you don't need any DLSS and such cheating, you can play it native with good FPS.

@@reality_is_sin DX11 doesn't solve anything, it's even worse and I don't know if things like DLSS even worked in DX11 and you really need it in these days when games want such crazy hardware.
