TRIGGER WARNING If you're religious, and don't like being told you might be wrong about your beliefs, don't watch this video.
My lack of belief in a deity has defined my adult life in many ways. It's central to my self identity and is something I hold very dear. I see my atheism as a direct extension of my co-dependent belief that reason is the best compass for a meaningful life. I've made and lost friends over this belief. Here I explain why I am an Atheist.

Because you are too stooo-pid to see reason to change. It's easier for you to not think much at all. How did you get around the first verses of the bible with God creating and giving life? Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space, and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it. We KNOW these laws. We have NO doubts about them. We also KNOW that the laws of nature can't come about without a Lawgiver, God. So if you want to pretend to be smart, please give me the laugh by giving your science how creation really happened by natural means. Also, throw in how we got the laws of nature, naturally. Life only comes from life. Law of biogenesis. God is the reason for us and all we have. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJqwoq2ElL6Gjrc The odds are NOT there. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWLCfHiMlqisl6M kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4icmJStr79_qc0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpXEooarqdlol9k

You know they don't make sense? Satan is trapping your body and brains you can't see it. It takes the work of the Holy Spirit to illuminate the darkness. But first you have to be drawn in by By His Heavenly Father. If that doesn't happen you will stay in the darkness. You are zombie. GOD sees Satan children as dead. But they can be revived by the Jesus, When the Holy Spirit shows us the things of Christ Jesus and makes them real.

Lifelong atheist, now 70 years old. Refreshing, intelligent talk that I greatly enjoyed. Very positive attitude, no bullying, just statement of your position. I was brought up in the Southern Baptist Church, but it all just seemed silly to me. I could quote the scriptures and pretend the behaviors automatically. It is so nice to hear someone simply speaking sense and reason. I’ll be back to visit again!

If there is a god and they are good, they couldn't be offended that you didn't realize they existed when they have basically been playing hide and seek for millions of years. If there is a god and they are bad, they will probably send us all to hell anyway, so there's no point in following them. If there is no god, then we should live life to the fullest, knowing it's the only one we're getting.

I was sexually abused in the baptist church for 3 years. Didn't even find out until I had sex ed class in 8th grade. Despite the fact... I remained a Christian and rep for many years. Thinking it was a fluke. Then I moved to the south and got a taste of the Christian security state. They exposed me for my gayish masturbation habits... Labeled me a F4g... And in their terms a demon filled pervert-pedo. I was chased out of TN by extremists that wanted to kill me. Then harassed in Florida because they made contact with my aunt's church. Best part is... I'm not even gay. I took a lot of time and maturity to figure that out. So these people have harassed and bullied me for 5 years... For a stupid sex act... I was forced to learn to like... By a preacher. How Ironic? Church going christians have become a hate filled cult and deserve to be Rico acted. The sad part is... The normal majority of christians don't realize how evil many of the churches are. That they use espionage to fake miracles (or punish sinners) in the name of religious strength conditioning. Which is legal... Only because you signed the vague release form and gave them power of attorney. They stalk and harass people. Then if you try to get help. The cops and health professionals in town play dumb... Or act like you are crazy. Because many of them are members of the same church cult. Especially in the south. There is so much corruption and hate that I want nothing to do with these types of people. A real christian loves everybody... walks in peace... And leads by example. Not by force, hate, and slander. All they care about is social status, money, and power. Then. In their security state... The elders are doing everything they judge you for. With the excuse... "Well I know God so I am forgiven" it's all a sick joke.

concrete evidence is not a phrase that i invented ,but an Atheist Mantra that they use to make their cases for reality. Atheist claim that Nature is all there is and that there is no Supernatural , Well Did Nature create itself? Where did Consciousness come from in a Naturalistic material world?

@@torontoash45 If we're to move a conversation past "my opinion vs your opinion", then evidence is important, otherwise we're just trading guesses. But please do bear in mind that if *anyone* tells you they know how the universe started, they are lying! I've got some ideas, that make sense to me, but they are far, far, from "facts". I spent the last 30 years of my working life contracted to ESA. I learned about the incredible vastness of the Universe. Our magnificent Earth is no more than a grain of sand in the Sahara. I have taken Christian and Muslim friends to the very informative Space Expo museum in Noordwijk. When I described the unimaginable distances and the uncountable stars and Galaxies I was asked on two occasions. Where is God in all of this. My reply was, God is where he always was, he is in your head. Put there by your parents, later at school your parents stories were endorsed. Later still at your place of worship the minister confirmed what you had heard at school. Leaving you in no doubt that it must be true. This is called indoctrination and very difficult to undo. I only have to ask myself why would the creator of such immensity choose to vist our grain of sand and make a man in his own image.? There are many sources of information on this subject my favorites are Zechariah Sitchin, much more plausible than the scriptures, Michael Tellinger who goes into great depth of why all over the world there has been a pantheon of 12 gods they have different names of course but their stories and attributes are almost identical. There must be a logical reason and indoctrination will not reveal the answer.

I love how Ray Comfort puts it, if I see a building, I know intivituly and need NO proof that there HAS to be an architect, if I look at a car (especially the engine of the car) I know that there has to be a mechanic, if I see a beautiful painting, I know that there has to be painter, and if I see Creation I know that there HAS to be a Creator. I would NEVER EVER assume that a building, a car, a painting would EVER happen by chance. I just automatically and naturally assume that the building, the car, and the painting had creators. Why is Creation the one huge exception to this rule? What makes this argument even more shocking is that Creation is BY FAR the most complex thing EVER made, and YET it is the ONE observance that is excluded to having a maker. The question we need to ask ourselves is this: Do you believe in the SCIENIFIC IMPOSSIBLITY that "NOTHING" created everything which is what atheism really is or do you believe that there had to have been someone who created everything. Which one sounds more REASONABLE and LOGICAL? I pray that this post will bring at least one person to Christ. God bless you all!

@Ben Jones Hello there Ben Jones I'm just using pure logic and reason my friend, that's all. Based off of our experience, our understanding and our observance of everything that we all see and use every day ... we know every time we see Order and Design in anything we know that there has to be a designer. In addition, we all know that everything that has a "beginning" will always have a "cause." Therefore the universe has a "beginning" (proven scientific fact) so the universe must of had a "cause." The question we need to ask ourselves then is who "caused" the universe. It can't be "nothing", because "nothing" will always produce "nothing". That's an deniable 100% fact. So the logical approach is that there must of had been someone who created everything. Because what we see around us is not complete utter chaos and total randomness but we see AMAZING "Design" and AMAZING "Order". Order will never come out of Chaos and Order will never happen by accident. Whenever you see amazing order you see amazing intelligence. And any time you see intelligence it always points back to a mind. Take a look at the following video below, its a short video but it conveys more of what I'm talking about. Plus the editing is absolutely amazing. xD LOL God bless you my friend and take care! kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3aaZ6GtntKoipI

@@aolish - Well, it's funny how Ray Comfort only lists things that were actually man-made -- yes, if I see a building, I know there was an architect -- but if I see a flower, I know it grew from a seed, there was no "flower-maker" -- if I see a mountain range, I know it arose through the movement of tectonic plates, there was no "mountain-builder" -- so you & Ray are guilty of the fallacy of Special Pleading, which is not evidence for anything at all -- you are also committing the Strawman fallacy, because nobody, anywhere, says that the universe came from "NOTHING" -- nobody -- you're just trying to say that that's the non-theistic claim, when it simply isn't -- so there's no "SCIENTIFIC IMPOSSIBILITY" being claimed, & therefore no "SCIENTIFIC IMPOSSIBILITY" to be believed or not believed -- come back w/ some actual REASONABLE & LOGICAL arguments, instead of these weak fallacies, if you want to be taken seriously, mmmk? Well said! For me, I'm an atheist because religion is exactly how you would expect it to look if it were man-made. If there really were one true religion, you'd at least expect some kind of internal consistency, or that non-adherents of that True Religion would have religious experiences of the true one. For example, if Christianity were true, you'd see Hindus experiencing Jesus when having religious experiences, and that doesn't seem to happen.

Depends how you define "God". As Arthur C. Clarke wrote: *_"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."_* So if that fits YOUR definition of a god then that's one. If you think about how technology is advancing at an exponential rate what would we be like in 1,000 or a million years? If you took a cell phone (and it was connected to the Internet somehow) back 200 years, people would think you're a god.

This could be more simple to explain than we think. We are fairly sure from fossil evidence that walking upright came before brain growth. Walking frees our hands to use tools to obtain more food. More food allows bigger brains. Bigger brains allow us to imagine things that don't (yet) exist, thus allowing us to pick up a rock, and see how it could be an axe, or a knife. Those that could make efficient tools got even more high energy food (meat). Having a good imagination thus became valuable for survival. At some point, we started to imagine abstract things. Painting, language, and writing soon followed. Imagining supernatural creatures to explain all the things we saw is a small step. Getting rid of them has proven to be much harder.

With so many different religions all believing by faith in a God or Gods that they all think is/are real, yet teaching different doctrines at the same time, the question then begs, "What can anybody not believe by faith, and does this belief make anything true". This, l'd really love to know. In the absence of evidence truth is uncertain. Therefore, judgement or any decision making must be suspended. For this is the most honest thing a person can ever do. Anything more than this is merely presumptuous speculations that the religious world call faith. No wonder knowledge is the greatest enermy of faith and any religion!

Hey Jackson. Thanks so much for checking out the video. I hope so much that your journey away from religion hasn't been hard on you or your close family and friends. It can be so difficult, especially in the US, to leave a religious background and I hope you're doing OK. When we die, I believe we go back to the same place we were before we were born. That is to say, nothingness. It may seem dark, but I actually get comfort in the fact we return of nothing. We are like mayflies, alive for the briefest of times, and must make each day special and extraordinary. I've always found the work of Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris very helpful. Here in the UK we have the Humanist association, who are great. In the US I'm finding the work of the Satanic Temple very refreshing, they're not what most people think they are; they're actually just trolling the less tolerant extreme end of the Christians in the US. Reading their manifesto can be quite enlightening! Keep well, Jackson, and keep in touch!

G'day Jackson. My name is Rob and I'm an aged (like wine!) atheist, this situation has existed for me since 7 or 8 years old. I did check out religion as i got older, read books, talked to believers even went to a Billy Graham revival meeting when he came to Australia, nothing changed for me as far as my conviction went but I gained insight into how religion works. Anyway that is just a bit of background, because you specifically asked about death, if you like I will tell you my experience when I died (and obviously revived) with a heart attack about 8 years ago now. I rarely tell this event because many people, I think, are scared to hear (almost every day I wear a top that says "There Is No God", I had a batch of 30 T shirts and jumpers (sorry forgot US translation jumper, sweat shirt? If indeed you are American) so people I live around, local shops, neighbours, etc. certainly have no doubt as to where I stand. Anyway if you want to hear it just drop in a reply here. @@derpydino35 G'day Jackson (you'd be Jacko in Oz 😃 ). I'll put in the background of how it came about so you can get an idea of where my head was at when it happened. Ok here goes... Firstly as I said when i was 7 or 8 I decided there was no god and it was shortly there after they I lost all the fear i had about death and it has never returned. Ok background... I have done quite a few things in my life and one of those was as a musician. My home capital was having special event at the state library celebrating local artists who had works published outside of Australia. I had put together a band with a friend in the 1970's and we had our recordings released world wide and there was a display for the band, along with many others much more famous than us. As you can imagine I was looking forward to going to the event and meet people who in many cases I had not seen in decades. Also at this time I was having heart problems and was diagnosed with angina, I was not feeling well at all that day but I just did not want to miss this, so in-spite of the wisdom I have gained over my life (live long enough you get it), I did a really stupid thing. I also have a spinal injury and it was giving serious pain from that morning, so it was a case of no way I'm not going that's it... I new how hard I could push my pain killers so i went for it, over the course of the day I took the maximum dose I could get away with and hopefully not kill myself, I had taken 8 tabs of high dose codeine. It had been a pretty warm day around 38C (100F) and it wasn't going to cool off much as the evening moved on. I only had one alcohol drink (I still had some smarts left ha ha!). I spent about 3 or 4 hours at the event, shaking hands, laughing, reminiscing and then went to the pub with the rest of the band, I stuck to coke. I got home about midnight and collapsed into bed pretty quick, I was spent. I woke at 6.00 am to bad chest pain, I got out of bed and made it to the living room lounge, I grabbed my angina tabs and stuck one under my tongue, you then wait 5 minutes and see if the pain subsides, it did not, I put the second tab under my tongue but the pain and tightness did not reduce but in fact increased. If you still have pain after the second five minutes you call an ambulance which is what I did. I had to get up and unlock the front door so when the ambo got here they could get in, I was also caring for my mum who was about 94/95 at the time. I had to wake her and tell her what was going on so she would be less worried and could call one of my brothers to come and look after her. All of this was with a pain level in my chest of about 8 out of 10 but I stayed very, very calm no angst or fear at all and I knew fully what was happening. The ambo arrived about 6:30 am they went to work wiring me up, blood pressure, temperature etc. I managed to start making jokes and had them calm and focused in no time. I well remember as they were wheeling the stretcher into the back of the ambo some local kids came to see what was going on, i gave them a thumbs up and said g'day, they returned the thumbs up and then a dog ran by and off they went, I laughed with paramedic about my fleeting fame ousted by a dog in less than 60 seconds lol. The ambo ride was fun actually, having a chat and a laugh with the Para as we raced to the hospital, lights, sirens, speed... awesome. They wheeled me into emergency, I shook hands with the para's thanked them and wished them a quiet night. About maybe a minute went by and some nurses came and started to wheel me to Op theatre. When I arrived the resident heart surgeon greeted me with " I'll be your plumber this morning, I laughed and said shit you blokes charge that much! I'll have to call my bank manager! both lol (in Australia it's free). When the doors of the theatre opened there was a circle of monitors, over a dozen, surrounding the op table, I said loudly "Awesome you got cable, what's on, ah the discovery channel!" everybody giggled I then asked "You can't get the footy can ya?" Everybody laughed loudly, the surgeon gave them hey chill kinda thing, a this is serious you know, I apologised and promised to withhold the humour. Much to their amazement i was able to sit up to get my clothes off, nothing like being stark naked in front of a group of strangers! I cannot have general anaesthetic as it has very high chance of killing me, fortunately they did not have to rip open my chest but go in through the veins. The doc opens up my right wrist, I thought it would have been the left, I watch the monitors as the device slowly and gently goes up my arm and towards my heart, you can see the blood clot in my artery that my heart can't move. During all this I kept talking to the doc telling him my pain level and how tight my chest was feeling. Just as the device gets to the edge of my heart I tell the doc "I am getting very dizzy now" He says "No worries mate we got ya". Then at that instant it happened, I knew I was having my last few seconds of life. A wall of black zoomed into view, the blackest black I had ever seen then I felt as if the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders all my problems just vanished I felt fantastic! The next part is difficult to describe because it is not a visual thing but a feeling, an emotional thing. This is the best analogy from life I can think of. Imagine that you like to play chess and your ok but not great at it but there is this one guy who in 50 years of game after game on weekends you have never beaten once and now suddenly you win! Imagine the feeling of elation you would have! Coupled with that elation the following last thoughts entered my mind, "Yes I did it! I got it right! I won, I won at life!" then end, nothing after that I just ceased to be. Next I regained consciousness and straight away I said "I just died" the doc took a step back and said "yes.. yes you did what was it like?" I told the story to him and he said the blackness and weight of problems being lifted from oneself was very common but the last bit seemed to really surprise him he said he had never had anyone say there was anything after the weight of problems leaving them, he did not know what to say he seemed stunned. Next he told me that in-spite of being dead for some time I had suffered no heart or brain damage at all, he seemed to have a, this guys one in a million type tone in his voice. They put some warm blankets on me, it was most welcome, operating theatres are kept very cold, then they wheeled me to the wards. Well that's my story. Not once was I afraid or scared, I had my beliefs strengthened to the max. Just remember that I cannot say this is what happens to everyone, while I appear to have had some common experiences the last part seems like it may have been unique to me, maybe. I hope that this helps you in some way. Stay cool man, cheers Rob.

I really like your directness and simplicity about your belief. I am a Christian, not religous, though; and I'm not commenting to criticise, nor to judge. I was agnostic until somewhere i my mid-20s. I had a spiritual encounter, of sorts. Something my university professors at the time couldn't explain nor identify with. It was neither my imagination, since this phenomenon occured in a group setting. Long story short, the only reference to what we all encountered suggested that there's life after death. @@TheDiscourseCollective thanks for your honesty! I will attempt to recount the events that led to my personal epiphany. Growing up in the 80s in a dystopian environment only coumpounded my reality that there is NO GOD. Fast-forward a few years... We thought we had lost a dear friend through a tragic climbing accident.. She was in ICU, fractured her skull, many broken bones... it seriously looked hopeless for her. after one of our visits to the hospital, a small group of us decided to go to her student residence to collect some of her clothing items. Whilst at her residence, we received and unexpected visitor (an elderly gentleman) who suggested that she's going to be fine and insisted that we should only take her grey gown, toiletries and the white fluffy slippers. He said his good-byes and left us . At the time we didn't make anything of it. She made it to full recovery. A little while later we were jokingly enquiring about her elderly stalker guy and his knowledge of her 'favourite' items of clothing. Long story short, again. Through our description of the elderly gentleman, we realised that it was her deceased grand-father. all three of us interacted with a dead person, whom none of us had met. We couldnt make sense of it, Science couldn't explain it. Our professors, as well as most of our associates were as dumbfounded as we were. Someone at Campus residence heard of our story, approached us, offered his bible, and encouraged us to seek the truth. Of course, we had a good laugh about the gesture.... Some months later I scraped enough courage to read the bible, only to find the TRUTH., so here i am! Blessings to you my friend.

To religious people who believe in the *fictional* Abrahamic god YHWH/Yahweh/Jehovah/Allah, please learn his origins. He was originally a lesser god in the Canaanite pantheon and son of the chief Canaanite god El. Yes, the *fictional* god of the Israelites and Christians is the same *fictional* god of the Muslims as well - the Abrahamic god. ------------------‐----------------------------------------------- *Although the biblical narratives depict Yahweh as the sole creator god, lord of the universe, and god of the Israelites especially, initially he seems to have been Canaanite in origin and subordinate to the supreme god El.* Canaanite inscriptions mention a lesser god Yahweh and even the biblical Book of Deuteronomy stipulates that *“the Most High, El,* gave to the nations their inheritance” and that “Yahweh's portion is his people, Jacob and his allotted heritage” (32:8-9). A passage like this reflects the early beliefs of the Canaanites and Israelites in polytheism or, more accurately, henotheism (the belief in many gods with a focus on a single supreme deity). *The claim that Israel always only acknowledged one god is a later belief cast back on the early days of Israel's development in Canaan.* *It is generally accepted in the modern day, however, that Yahweh originated in southern Canaan as a lesser god in the Canaanite pantheon* and the Shasu, as nomads, most likely acquired their worship of him during their time in the Levant. *Yahweh in the Canaanite Pantheon* The biblical narrative, however, is not as straightforward as it may seem as it also includes reference to the Canaanite god El whose name is directly referenced in `Israel' (He Who Struggles with God or He Who Perseveres with God). *El was the chief deity of the Canaanite pantheon and the god who, according to the Bible, gave Yahweh authority over the Israelites:* When the *Most High [El]* gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of men, he fixed the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the Sons of God. For Yahweh's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. (Deuteronomy 32:8-9, Masoretic Text). The Canaanites, like all ancient civilizations, worshipped many gods but chief among them was the sky-god El. *In this passage from Deuteronomy, El gives each of the gods authority over a segment of the people of earth and Yahweh is assigned to the Israelites who, in time, will make him their supreme and only deity; but it is clear he existed beforehand as a lesser Canaanite god.* Yahweh, according to Amzallag, was transformed from one god among many to the supreme deity by the Israelites in the Iron Age (c.1200-930 BCE) when iron replaced bronze and the copper smelters, whose craft was seen as a kind of transformative magic, lost their unique status. *In this new age, the Israelites in Canaan sought to distance themselves from their neighbors in order to consolidate political and military strength and so elevated Yahweh above El as the supreme being and claimed him as their own.* His association with the forge, and with imagery of fire, smoke, and smiting, worked as well in describing a god of storms and war and so Yahweh's character changed from a deity of transformation to one of conquest. *As the Israelites developed their community in Canaan, they sought to distance themselves from their neighbors and, as noted, elevated Yahweh above the traditional Canaanite supreme deity El.* They did not, however, embrace monotheism at this time. The Israelites remained a henotheistic people through the time of the Judges, which predates the rise of the monarchy, and throughout the time of the Kingdom of Israel (c.1080-c. 722). Amazing only to dolts. A question I once asked a famous preacher and have still received no answer for is: before the creation of Eve did Adam have testicles? If you read Genesis carefully when God created Adam there was never any intention to create woman, she came later only as a solution to Adam's loneliness problem (after God's plan to pair him with an animal didn't satisfy Adam). So if woman was never part of the original creation plan the question remains did Adam have testicles before Eve's arrival?

It's true that there are so many inconsistencies in the bible and things that just make zero sense. I wouldn't wait up on that answer from the preacher! You can see why the Christians tried to start again with the new testament. the old testament is just full of crazy. Thanks for your thoughts!

Weak and unconvincing 'reasons'... I remain a Christian Catholic Theist, there is simply no way that a universe like this we are a part of could exist randomly and purposelessly, 'by itself', it is just absurd the idea that a limited being can give itself its own existence if it did not even exist before to give itself such existence) or by a blind 'force' (like Star Wars), without the immeasurable Will, Intelligence and Power (beyond any reference or experience that we can even imagine) of a conscious Creator Being.

I agree that 'something from nothing' is intellectually unfulfilling. Do bear in mind that "nothing" also includes universes that do not maintain our physical laws - hence the bubble universe theory. We made a video about how the universe may have come into being which you might find useful : kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4LJknR3i7KDoKs I keep an open mind about "creator", would you agree that the 'creator' is just as likely to be an AI that created our universe in software and runs us as constructs, or Allah, or Zeus or Aliens? Out of interest, are there any parts of the Catholic doctrine your find unfulfilling spiritually? Thanks for letting me know your thoughts about the video.

Sadly most "theists" are people with bad intentions. They do not truly invest in their spiritual lives but focus on religiosity and unhelpful traditions. This is what made Jesus most angry with the Pharisees, because they didnt focus on connection with God, and focus on the messiah and witness Jesus as the Son of God, they focused more on religious traditions, unhelpful laws and looking spiritual to others. I feel the same anger. That being said. Spiritual believers will not be swayed but will challenge you on your atheistic concepts and cause you to later walk away with your tail between your legs. I am not putting myself high but I have seen that personally happen. Everyone knows God exists they just couldnt care less because of how hard it is to follow Christ, I admit sacrifice away from being comfortable is not easy. The Holy Spirit is the guidance and counsellor to aid the walk on that hard long road.

I'd welcome any 'challenge to my atheistic concepts' that you'd like to put forward. There are very few arguments that support the existence of God in any meaningful way, and zero that form conclusive proof. I don't think I'll walk away with my tail between my legs! Evangelical Christians seem to love to profess how hard it is to follow Christ, but you guys made up the rules; not me. If it's hard, it's because you're making it hard. Being a good person without god is something I strive to do every day. While I take some Christian concepts to heart while doing that I also use elements of Buddhist and Islamic teaching, along with humanist ideals and simple moral common sense. It's not hard to be good, but it is harder than being bad. Thank you for your time in watching the video.

@@TheDiscourseCollective I know the burden of proof lies on those who make the claim, but that's irrelevant to my point about facts. A fact is a fact, yes, but that doesn't change the fact that people can disagree on which claims are factual, and which aren't. That's kinda the basis of the science: figure out which claims best fit reality, and those can change as the evidence and methodologies improve. My point was that with claims that have the evidence to back them (what we would call facts) can and do have people disagreeing because they reject part of the evidence or claim to have different evidence, that's just normal human interactions, but generally most people agree on them. When it comes to the God claim, you have huge discrepancies even within believers of the "same" god, which should be a red flag, given that if the evidence to support the claims was valid, you'd find a greater consensus.

It would be impossible for our non existent universe to magically self create itself from nothing into everything the initial act of creation that of creating everything from nothing had to have been a supernatural act by a supreme being with infinite power and infinite intelligence that exists outside of our paradigm of time and space and matter and is eternal that would be God. God created what is known as the Trinity of trinity's time space and matter time past present and future ,space length wdth and depth, matter solid liquid and gas created simultaneously by God." It is everything else that would be illogical. Example: Time cannot go back infinite into the past otherwise nothing would ever occur because the time prior to the 1st event would always be infinite your arguments are illogical.. It is also impossible for life to magically self create itself from non life the creation of life was also was also a supernatural act created by God. It is also very easy to disprove evolution DNA molecules only adapt they do not transform there is no such thing as transspecies mutations. You don't really believe that you and your dog are a distant cousin's or your pet fish come on give me a break. Well I must say I agree with a lot of what you said. Yes, universes (or anything else for that matter) don't magically create themselves. However, it's quite a jump to go from that to stating the cause "had to have been a supernatural act by a supreme being with infinite power and infinite intelligence that exists outside of our paradigm of time and space and matter and is eternal that would be God". How about if our universe was created by a group of alien scientists, or a super-AI, or another previous universe that does not require matter/time/energy for its existence? You jump straight from "We don't know" to "God did it". That's not proof of anything, I'm afraid, it's only an abductive supposition. Yes, life did not magically create itself. Again we don't have enough data to offer a statistically relevant theory, but it's quite possible RNA, or a precursor of that molecule, played a part. While the theory of evolution does still have some questions to answer, gene expression and horizontal transfer of genetic material among them, it's the best way we have at the moment of explaining the change in life that we see playing out all around us. You can see evolution taking place right now. Coronavirus variants are evolution; Alpha to Omicron is literally evolution taking place in front of your very own eyes. Lastly, I'm really not sure about 3-D holograms and event horizons but I do know that everything we know about how the physical world works tell us the shroud of Turin was made between the years 1260 and 1390. It's entirely possible you and I won't agree on this, James (can I call you James?), and that's OK. You and I seem to see the world in quite different ways. If your belief in a supernatural God brings you comfort and happiness that in itself is positive; there is so little comfort and happiness to be had you should take it where you find it. For me, personally, there just isn't the evidence to support a God Hypothesis. Thank you so much for checking out the video; and for taking the time to explain your perspective.

Two minutes into this video this person said "The existence of God cannot be found using evidence. The reason for this is religion requires faith" The first time I heard this logic, I had no answer. Now I am in the habit of analyzing the statement. What this person is saying is one or a combination of the two following things: 1. What he is saying is that he does not believe because other people believe. 2. Believing in something is proof that it does not exist.

It's more a matter of doctrine. Imagine if the Christian God was an everyday fact.. Everyone would worship him. You'd be crazy to have concrete evidence that supernatural being who wanted you to worship him (and gave to access to heaven after your death) actually existed and NOT then worship him. Religion only works if the practitioners do so even in the absence of proof, thereby requiring faith.

Let me tell the people out there why The Discourse Collective have not answered the question "How did matter come into existence if God have not created it?" Atheists *believe* the Big Bang created all matter. The closest to evidence for the Big Bang occurred is Cosmic Background Radiation. If the Big Bang occurred then it would course a uniform background radiation. The background radiation is not uniform. In fact the big bang would course the whole galaxy to be uniform, which it is not. The background radiation has been observed with satellites outside our atmosphere so we know it is not generated by our atmosphere. But that is the extent of our knowledge about the background radiation. We do not know how far we are from the source or what courses it. If The Discourse Collective have said “The Big Bang has created all matter” then I would have said “Please provide evidence for the first stages of the Big Bang.” When The Discourse Collective has failed to provide evidence then I will show him his previous statement “Religion only works if the practitioners do so even in the absence of proof, thereby requiring faith.” The Discourse Collective’s inability to provide evidence for the Big Bang would proof that atheism is a religion to him. So The Discourse Collective has done with this question what atheists do with evidence for God’s existence. Atheists ignore evidence of God’s existence.

Atheists have nothing to say about the Big Bang; Atheism isn't about where the universe comes from, it's simply a lack of belief in the existance of Gods. There are Christians, Muslims and Jews that believe in the Big Bang theory, but as a method of God's creation, rather than from a scientific perspective. Just to be clear, you have the CBR problem slightly off, it's actually the fact that it IS so nearly consistent that is odd, not that it isn't uniform. Inflation theory helps explain some of that. we also have an excellent idea of where CBR comes from, we even have a map of it thanks to the COBE mission. As per your previous point, "If evidence of God's existence is provided to you then will you become a believer?"; I have nothing riding on if there is a God or not. It's not a big deal to me if there is or if there isn't. I've just never been presented with anything close to rational proof that there is.

That is simply not true, i am an example of that, and on the flip side, its not true because youtube is full of former theists. To be lead into believing something can either be something good or something bad, depending on what it is, personal insight, and scriptural context. I believe in God for many different reasons, but the catch with atheists is, that we can doubt anything, atheists funny enough choose to follow men, and not follow spiritual context.

For me Atheism doesn't make sense at all because Evolution actually teaches the OPPOSITE of what I experience every day. Here's what I mean. An Atheist is someone who believes that something came from nothing, that Order came out of Disorder, information can come out of Chaos, that the rational came from the irrational, and that life somehow came from NON-life. That is COMPLETELY the opposite to what I experience on a daily basis. In my day to day activates, I only ever see the OPPOSITE of all of these things happening in my life but Atheism is teaching me they actually happened. You don't need a book to tell you God exist and you don't need your parents or anyone else to teach you that God exist. We know that God exist because of what we see around us. To say all this happened by happenstance, chance and luck is the very pinnacle of "BLIND" faith. This is why I believe Jesus is REAL and he said who he says he is. Let us be honest here, most of us are not on a TRUTH quest, but were on a HAPPINESS quest! Were just going to believe whatever we think is going to make us happy even if its something as ridiculous as believing that you can get "something from nothing." Napoleon said it best: "Man will believe in anything, as long as it's not in the Bible." The reason why people don't want to believe that God exist is NOT because of some intellectual reason, but rather its a HEART issue. They don't want it to be true! One of the reasons why is because people love sin, it tastes good, it feels good and it LOOKS good. The bible tells us that light has come into the world but people LOVE darkness rather than the light because there deeds are evil. I hope that this post will bring at least one person to Christ while there is still time. God bless you all.

I'm not trying to start a fight and no offense to anyone who is an atheist, but of course the concept of God sounds illogical to humanity. It would be absurd if we as people understood everything there is to know about God and He met all of our expectations even though He said He is not human, he is spirit and His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Even if a man stuck his head out of the sky and said he was God, who would know if he was telling the truth. What criteria would you judge him by to come to such a conclusion that he is indeed God. Many people have questions about why God doesn't do this or that and that's why he can't exist. But science today is as advance as it's ever been but we have more questions about our world than answers despite the mountain of scientific data we have, but people don't discredit its validity because of this. Believing in God takes some amount of faith no matter how much proof you have. God is real, and he will reveal himself to you if you sincerely seek Him. Some people come to religion but never experience a true encounter with Christ and that's why their faith doesn't grow. Seek the Lord while he may be found.

Your points are very reasonably put and you've taken care in how you write, so no offence is possible :-) At it's heart, the discussion we're having is about understanding the nature of being human and how we experience things. You feel, subjectivly, that there is a God. I feel, subjectively, there is no God. Say I came to you and said that I could make you blissfully happy and content. When you ask me how, I smile and say "trust me". When you ask to speak to other who I've made happy, I show you a group of people who are neither happy or content. Lastly you ask how my method works, so I give you a book, written by me, with a bunch of nonsense written with a few quotes from other people. Would you trust me? I hope not! Theists do the same to Atheists. They ask us to believe in something for which they can provide no objective proof, has a long history of not working (remember Zeus? or Osiris? or Guānyīn? All forgotten Gods that their followers thought were real) , and whose primary "method" is a book written by those in charge of the church and heavily edited to suit it's purpose (which is thought control). Do you see while I'm sceptical? Thanks a lot for leaving your thought and joining the discourse!
