i’m an atheist, but i love when people ask me to participate in their religious practices as a sign of acceptance and friendship. i have gone to church, mosque, temple, and felt nothing but love from all from those who practice religion. i actively try to teach myself some practices from religions to not offend people and to respect them. i will never tell someone their religion is wrong, whatever helps you be a good person, to be happy, to help you through struggles, and doesn’t hurt anyone, is completely fine by me.

Thanks for sharing. Religious people are some of the most insecure people I've ever met. Religious people can't handle having no answers for certain unanswerable questions, so they turn to religion to make up these answers. Religious people get together in a community and at church to surround themselves with other insecure people to make them feel more secure. Religious people love forcing others to agree with them because the more people who agree with them, the more secure they feel. In most cases the only people religious people have the power to force is their own children. Atheists aren't insecure with not knowing certain things such as what happens after they die. Atheists don't feel the need to make up answers for unanswerable questions. Atheists don't feel the need to gather together every Sunday to listen to their views being preached so that they can feel better about being an atheist. Atheists don't feel the urge to try and convert others into atheisms. Atheists don't go murder people who insult their beliefs or people who disagree with them. If anything, atheists are the more respectful and accepting people I've ever met. Probably the most amazing thing is that you can believe in god and still live and practice your beliefs like an atheist.

I go to a religious school and I'm religious. But my atheist friends are the people who bring up my religion, trying to trap me with questions I can't answer and always tell me I believe horrible things, that I don't. Some atheist people aren't fine with religious people. Some religious people are fine with Atheism, my only issue is when people bash my religion.

Thanks for bringing that up. My experience has been the complete opposite. Maybe you bring up religious things without realizing it and that's why they act this way? I'm not saying that's the case, it's just I've never met an atheist who felt the need to change a religious person. Under no circumstance is it okay to try and force a religious person to become an atheist. I've also never met an atheist who had any issues with people bashing atheism. However, I've met countless religious people who had issues with people bashing religion.

As long as you are not using your religious belief system to impact negatively on the lives of others, I don't care what you believe in. When you start trying to dictate who can and cannot have rights, because your religion doesn't respect those people, then we have a problem. Your religion affects your life. It decides what you can and cannot do because it is your personal belief system. It doesn't extend to the lives of others if they do not want it to and therefore is not a valid reason to deny anyone else human rights.

I too did not believe in a Creator God nor His Son Jesus for 46 long years. Until Jesus appeared to me - I had the shock of my life and my whole life flashed before me in an instant and i realised not only was He real, but He holy and pure and I certainly not. I just said sorry & straight away I knew I was a forgive sinner turning my back on the old me. I realised like a building has an architect, a novel a writer and a painting an artist, so too world has a Creator and saw His beauty everywhere. I researched the working of the human body and realised its impossible no matter how many billions of supposed years of evolution that the heart, lungs, blood vessels, mind had to all work together instantly otherwise dead. I also saw how can monkey gibberish talk turn into understandable speech. I saw the incredible working and self healing of the human eye, and our immune system which vital for us especially may during the pandemic. I wondered what came first - chicken or egg - and realised unsolvable. Then i thought of the intangible things that evolution has no answer - our conscience, imagination, thoughts, emotions & feelings & wondered where did they come from. Jesus is real all right. Lets be all loving here with our comments. After all Jesus gave His life out of love for us so we can know we forgiven , just like me and billions of others over 2000 years and that He returning to Earth, and if the bible predictions which coming true right now anything to go by, will be sooner than we imagine "like a thief in the night" Please open your heart to all this. Don't be left behind. x

Being an atheist is to "disbelief or lack belief in the existence of God or gods". You are really just an Agnostic, because Agnostics "believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God." but really, you're not one of them either.

+Miss Amanda Gnosticism refers to knowledge and the only justifiable position is being agnostic. I'd describe believing in some kind of higher power as deistic (just incase you were curious or cared about terms). Personally I think believing in ghosts or any kind of higher power is kinda ridiculous (lack of proof and I love science and other reasons) but to each there own :)

I am an atheist and I don't find anything wrong with religious people. We all are humans. I have a friend who is atheist and she literally pisses me off so much. She gets angry when people say 'bless you' she laughs when someone mentions their religion as something that helps them. And she may mocks religious songs. She also does celebrate Christmas tho and other religious events. So hypocritical. I'm sorry if any religious person had to deal with people like her. I actually feel nice when people say God bless you or Allah bless you. One of my favorite artists mentions religion on most of his songs and I find it beautiful. I just want people to also respect me,and I will respect them.

I'm an agnostic atheist, because the one thing I care the most about in people is that they're good people and treat others well - and for some people, religion is what motives them to be a good person and keeps them going in life, what answers their questions, and for me, it's just many different things. I can't prove that there's no god or any other entity, nobody can prove that there is a or many god(s), so I don't see a point in fighting over it, because that's the reason we call it belief, it doesn't need to be proven - just find the explanations that make the most sense to you, and belive in them as long as they give you a purpose in life, as long as it makes you a good and happy person. When I was younger, I used to hate religion because I felt like all religion did was make people hate each other and create wars. It took me a few years to realize that people and money are what makes people hate and kill each other, behind the curtains of religion. I've met many people who found a purpose in life through their beliefs, and they were so happy, I saw no point in arguing with them, trying to prove them wrong, because I can't prove my side either. Believing is a very personal thing to me, and I think it should be personal to everyone, whatever you belive or don't belive in. And if you choose to join a specific religion, you should also understand that you've chosen to follow the specific rules of this religion and you cannot expect anyone else to follow them as well, unless they decide to.

Vaclav Kuchar No. Atheist means that I deny the idea of a/many god(s), agnostic means that I literally don't know whether there is a god or not, I lack the proof and I lack the science behind it, I just assume there there isn't one and I chose to believe in that idea because it makes more sense to me. You can also be a gnostic atheist, meaning that you're 100% sure that there is no god, you can be agnostic muslim/christian/etc., saying that you've chosen to believe in the idea of a god but you can't prove it either and you would accept that your construct was false if proven otherwise. There are also gnostic christians/muslims/etc., who are 100% sure that their god(s) exist and would never let anyone prove them wrong.

Besides, you could literally google both terms individually and then together, and you'll find the explanations yourself. Just as one example, here's two definitions from the cambridge dictionary: agnostic ( as a noun ): "someone who does not ​know, or ​believes that it is ​impossible to ​know, if a ​god ​exists". atheist ( as a noun ): "someone who ​believes that ​God does not ​exist" Those aren't mutually exclusive, as I, personally, can believe that God doesn't exist, but I can also believe that it's impossible to know for sure. Different beliefs are rarely ever clearly set apart, especially nowadays, mixed beliefs are a thing. Didn't know that? Go listen to some theology, ethics, sociology, phychology and philosophy lectures.

which is....none? I can't think of a single religion that doesn't harm others. The very concept of teaching kids that there is a magical deity watching over you is already a form of harm since it hinders critical thinking and logical development in a child's brain. It's no surprise that on average the IQ of a religious person is lower than the IQ of an atheist (it's proven in multiple research settings, normalized to social factors such as income and culture). Even Buddhism has done its fair share of harm, albeit much less compared to Christianity and Islam...

I too did not believe in a Creator God nor His Son Jesus for 46 long years. Until Jesus appeared to me - I had the shock of my life and my whole life flashed before me in an instant and i realised not only was He real, but He holy and pure and I certainly not. I just said sorry & straight away I knew I was a forgive sinner turning my back on the old me. I realised like a building has an architect, a novel a writer and a painting an artist, so too world has a Creator and saw His beauty everywhere. I researched the working of the human body and realised its impossible no matter how many billions of supposed years of evolution that the heart, lungs, blood vessels, mind had to all work together instantly otherwise dead. I also saw how can monkey gibberish talk turn into understandable speech. I saw the incredible working and self healing of the human eye, and our immune system which vital for us especially may during the pandemic. I wondered what came first - chicken or egg - and realised unsolvable. Then i thought of the intangible things that evolution has no answer - our conscience, imagination, thoughts, emotions & feelings & wondered where did they come from. Jesus is real all right. Lets be all loving here with our comments. After all Jesus gave His life out of love for us so we can know we forgiven , just like me and billions of others over 2000 years and that He returning to Earth, and if the bible predictions which coming true right now anything to go by, will be sooner than we imagine "like a thief in the night" Please open your heart to all this. Don't be left behind. x

Firstly, no. There's a difference between believing something and holding it above everything else. I don't believe in any god actually, but I understand that all religions/beliefs should be treated equally, not as if one is superior to the other. Secondly, I never said that everyone is like that, rude and inconsiderate. I was just pointing out that not everyone is nice either. Not everyone is just trying to "educate" so this person has a legitimate reason for feeling uncomfortable, and there's no need for you to make him/her feel bad for it.

Yes, the Bible does call on us to evangelize, but it also tells us to accept all our fellow humans as they are and give them unconditional love. People's decisions about whether or not they have faith ought to be respected. If and when they are ready to start growing in their relationship with God, they will. That is another thing atheist generally hate. Don't act like you're waiting for their to "grow their relationship with God." Atheist don't see one religion over any other, we have an equal disbelief for all. I personally find is really rude and annoying when someone acts as if their faith is any more valid than any other religion publicly. Do that in private. I’m also atheist and I’m 19 I told people in my 2 last years of high school but here’s the thing it’s an African Catholic 100+ years boys school I was treated so badly to the point that I had to pretend that I was finding my self I knew what I was since I was 14 I didn’t see it as a big deal but even when I told my twin sister she wasn’t accepting but I was able to find peace in the fact that my older brother is atheist and just goes about life. Kind of unrelated, but I don't understand why people call him a fair god. I used to read the Bible when I was young, and I remember reading a few examples of his unfairness. Like, why did he condemn and punish everyone just because two people decided to eat a damn apple? And why did he think it was necessary to kill all of the first born children in Egypt and stone women who weren't virgins before marriage? Only one person can save people and he is Jesus Christ. Not some fake made up God who never was here. Jesus Christ was here and this is proven more by secular sources than the bible. And the secular sources cover his death and resurrection and his twelve disciples. Ask experts who studied all these sources come up with. They become Christians because the proof is amazing.

I too did not believe in a Creator God nor His Son Jesus for 46 long years. Until Jesus appeared to me - I had the shock of my life and my whole life flashed before me in an instant and i realised not only was He real, but He holy and pure and I certainly not. I just said sorry & straight away I knew I was a forgive sinner turning my back on the old me. I realised like a building has an architect, a novel a writer and a painting an artist, so too world has a Creator and saw His beauty everywhere. I researched the working of the human body and realised its impossible no matter how many billions of supposed years of evolution that the heart, lungs, blood vessels, mind had to all work together instantly otherwise dead. I also saw how can monkey gibberish talk turn into understandable speech. I saw the incredible working and self healing of the human eye, and our immune system which vital for us especially may during the pandemic. I wondered what came first - chicken or egg - and realised unsolvable. Then i thought of the intangible things that evolution has no answer - our conscience, imagination, thoughts, emotions & feelings & wondered where did they come from. Jesus is real all right. Lets be all loving here with our comments. After all Jesus gave His life out of love for us so we can know we forgiven , just like me and billions of others over 2000 years and that He returning to Earth, and if the bible predictions which coming true right now anything to go by, will be sooner than we imagine "like a thief in the night" Please open your heart to all this. Don't be left behind. x
