Well it's not even that. Peach's Birthday Cake was NOT a good board on MP1, but here they've improved it MASSIVELY. Easier looping, better Goomba placement, cheaper Pirahna plants, just to name a few! So even if it's not boards you liked back in the day...they can potentially be improved to be way more fun!

@@chibi2239 the cheap plant option so far seems to be garbage. pay 5 to eventually steal 6 for an opponet, I'd still use it but it doesn't really do anything of significance WITH THAT, though I will agree the plants are improved as one plant watches 2 spaces meaning star stealing investments are more likely to pan out.

Considering they said "all modes are online", I'd like to hope that means that there's gonna be at the bare minimum more minigame modes than just free play. If we could have modes like Minigame Stadium, the one that's in most that has you go to 3,5, or 7 wins, and maybe even some Duel boards from MP3 (This is probably the least likely one) then I'd be pretty happy. Also a solo mode for the minigames like Minigame Island from MP1 would be nice too.

On the singular Joycon thing with SMP. You can’t just use any controller because of the Minigames in that particular game. Not only would non-motion controllers not work, it would need specifically Joycon motion. The entire game (or at least the Minigames) was built around the Joycon specifically. Using things like HD Rumble for some of the Minigames, etc. Superstars has (reportedly) NO games that require motion, so a third-party non-motion controller can work just fine. That wasn’t the case with Super.

why most ppl dont like the random bonus stars? it was for me the best thing. Cause a good player who is always good in Minigames got all the coins and could buy stars and got bonus stars too. So even unlucky players who land a lot on red space or rolled only low numbers get at least a star. But yah.. for both sides.. an option like "Bonus Stars On/off" and "Which Bonus stars you want?"

The problem with random bonus stars is that some of them reward you for playing poorly, for example the slowpoke star, you keep rolling 1? Use items, they're there for a reason, we aren't getting back double and triple dices so people can get rewarded for never using them at all. And tbh, a set of bonus stars allows for strategy, it's not all luck in Mario Party, it does play a major part on a victory, but if you gonna be braindead the whole game and win thanks to some pity bonus stars then that's terrible tbh, in the old Mario Party games we only had Minigame Star: forces you to put effort into each minigame, and it's not just "whoever wins the most minigames" it's actually "whiever gets the most coins from minigames" so coin minigames can help you out recovering from losing many minigames, Coin Star: the usual "who had the most coins in the match" this one makes stuff like gambling your money actually viable, and encourages to save up instead of wasting it just because you can, and the fact that it's more like a record than having the most by the end, you can end with 100 coins but if anyone had 101 or more they get the star instead, Happening Star: this encourages players to use the (now called) "Event" spaces, sometimes they can be gambles, for example in Yoshi's board from Mario Party 1 they swapped the place of the star, or in the returning Woody Woods they have multiple functions, not all of them good or bad, another problem is that without a set of bonus stars people don't get encouraged to put any effort to specifically get any of those, the gamble is too high and the reward may sometimes not be worth it, you may put much effort for Minigame Star but it may not even show up, wasting all your effort in favor of someone who couldn't be bottered to even use the Mushroom :/, at that point bonus stars become more redundant, you won't ever know which ones are gonna show up so there's kinda no point in even trying to aim for any of those, they're just... there... But it's ok to like the new system, it's just that in a nostalgia driven Mario Party game like this the random bonus stars alone can make many people get pissed off, they really make a huge difference in thr gameplay, so the option to set which ones you want and how many would be really good, and it doesn't hurt anyone, they said we can change the amount of turns mid-game so i'm hopeful that they maybe realized this problem with the bonus stars as well

Things I’d want improved or other ideas: 5 boards is too little when these are remasters of old boards. I hope 1 more is announced or dlc comes. Battle spaces were improved over the dumpster fire they were in SMP but I liked when only certain games could be battle spaces, bowsers big blast isn’t as fun when it’s just a normal minigame. I wish duels were for stars. I don’t care for lucky spaces. And I hope there are more customization options like custom bonus stars or custom minigame playlists like in MP4. The pipe dream would be for there to be a Mario party maker someday but I’d atleast like to customize the bonus stars

I think they should have swapped the battle spaces with the lucky spaces cause in the originals, there were way more and they didn't dissapear. If there were a few lucky spaces and A LOT of battle spaces then I could accept that. Alternatively if a bunch of battle spaces pop up during final 5, I guess that would work too (ooh maybe battle spaces and luck spaces swap during final 5 but it's unlikely)

I hope Baby Bower/Koopa Kid return in someway, like hope if any of his minigames comeback (that being Baby Bowser Bonkers, Baby Bowser Broadside, Pipe Cleaners, they don't simply replace him with Bowser Jr. like they did in The Final Battle! on the Top 100. Specially knowing that he appears in every Mario Party 3 Item Minigame and we already saw Bobbing Bow-loons is returning.

Also I really really want them to return a feature from 4 that let you create a custom list of minigames for them to appear Party Mode

Honestly, I hope they add some boards from Mario party six. That was my favourite party game for sure. The day and night feature makes that game. Plus I loved using the orbs and items. The boards in this game should be bigger and have way more spaces. They should also let you choose how many turns you want to play for, makes it longer and more fun. Five boards is just too little, I’d say an appropriate number would be seven to eight boards. Come on Nintendo, every time you release a Mario party game that has to be your biggest complaint, not enough boards and boards that are too small. You definitely failed with peaches birthday cake, it’s way too small. I’ll still buy the game when it comes out. I can’t wait for October 29th!

That’s some unholy power thats better to keep vanished in the shadow realm, not even the buffed Custom Dice of this game is as almighty as the Reverse Mushroom, and that thing downright lets you nice and gently choose how many spaces you wanna move from 1-10, no timing required like with the Slowgos, who were also super strong in 6 and 7, the Reverse Mushroom is just way too good, even if it gets nerfed like the Slowgos in 8 so it only moves from 1-5 (or even 1-3), or turned into a rare item (you will still be able to force the game to get it thanks to the Custom Dice lol), just being able to go backwards, even for a little bit, it’s a very powerful ability If they do return, whelp, might as well abuse it

I'd love that, but not everyone has the same favorite boards from each game, and they'd probably have to do a lot of reworking to some of them to make them work the same as others because I'm guessing they wouldn't want some boards to have 1 set of items and another to have a different set and then some boards you can place items on the ground where others you can't. Excited for this game, but man... Space Land and Peach's Birthday cake were the worst boards of their respective games. Don't get me wrong, Space Land has a very nice futuristic theme, but plays out so boring. Peach's Birthday Cake is self explanatory. Hopefully there is going to be DLC for extra boards down the line. Minor complaint since this game looks like it is going to be great. The minigame selection looks great as do the items.

They probably don't want players who accumulated a lot of coins to feel completely out of the running if they get hit by the cannon and lose everything. As for the other maps, they might only need a few removed like you said.

I don’t think they’ll add Character Dice in at all, cause that was a a very unique thing about Super, and if you could do that in this game as well, then what’s the point of playing Super again? You DO have both ways since they’re both games on the same system, but if you want Character Dice, you’d go to Super.

I know they won't add it, I was just saying that if they wanted to have a Mario Party with both the normal dice and character dice as their own modes I think it'd be a great idea. But also in that same regard, people have been wanting costumes back since MP2 and I wouldn't want to be like if you want those you should just play MP2 instead. This game is supposed to be taking what's best from the past games and putting it into 1 game so I'd prefer as many options as possible.

Someone's only heard of Mario Party DS through Joey Perleoni. For context, some board events in that game can give you a ton of coins as well. Coin Blocks and Hidden Blocks can give you a lot of coins. But perhaps the best example of this is the Wheel of Wonder in Bowser's Pinball Machine. If you time it right with a lot of coins, you can get up to 495 coins.

Everything NEEDs to be fast as hell because everyone growing up in the age of cellphones and notifications can't focus longer then 6.5 seconds. Or.. I want the game to be like it used to be when I played them in the early to mid 2000's. I don't want to watch Toadette take 20-30 seconds to move the star if it only needs to take about 5. I don't need them to make a huge spectacle over getting a star every time anyone ever gets a star. If you watch a 20 turn game from MP1 and a 20 turn game from SMP you'd get that SMP makes it take longer than it needs to make the game take. That is why I'm happy that this game looks like it's going to be faster than SMP.
