I’ve been carnivore for just over 3 months. I’m sleeping better than ever, my nervous system has calmed way down, my mood energy and focus are much improved, my skin is smoother and my color is much better. I have been eating some sprouts and sauerkraut. I don’t plan to do it forever but I’ve had insulin-blood sugar-hormonal-immune-inflammatory problems my whole life and I’m 49. I was paleo-keto for 20+ years before that and it helped a lot but wasn’t enough. I did sneak some sugars into my diet via kombucha and some alcohol (almost none since 2020). So now I’m finally addressing my insulin.

Why go for extremes? Why not just eat whole foods like a reasonable person, instead of this insane stuff. If you have “symptoms”, it’s not due to whole foods, but due to systematic nutrient deficiencies, stress, or microbiome issues, none of which get better by eating only meat.

With regard to raw milk and dairy allergy When my son was born in the 70s as a bub he was milk sensitive, and so his consumption of milk was minimum, we subsequently moved to our own farm, where he literally drank milk from the udder as I milked, he never ever had milk sensitivity during this period (some 7years), we moved off farm back to suburbia and low and behold there it was again. Now at this point I knew nothing about metabolic health but I always remember thinking hmmm very interesting and have related this story over the years.

Headache, Jugular vein pain, numbness in hands/feet/face, chest pressure and asthmatic symptoms. It's hard to say if its related. But it might be. I found your mention of Brian to be interesting and it would be cool to see if you could go in-depth more on your thoughts on his blueprint and why it's so wrong when his bloodwork is impeccable.

My family used to own a cattle farm until my grandfather sold it. The number of cattle and bison currently in the USA is no greater than the great bison herds of the past. Paddock rotation mimics the great roaming bison herds of the past. This is the only way that we will rebuild the topsoil and biodiversity that we have lost due to mono-farming and over grazing of the same areas. Thanks for bringing attention to this important farming and pro-environmental practice. P.S. Methane from cattle is a short lived gas that breaks down into water droplets and joins rain clouds. The nitrogen cycle is a 10 year cycle that has repeated itself over and over for hundreds of thousands of years. It's bullshit (pun intended) that some ignorant people try to put cattle/methane into the carbon dioxide debate.

I'm at the point where I've seen so many videos and read so many posts and spoken to my doctor and I don't know what to believe anymore. To be fair to my doctor, he openly admits that dietary science is not an area he's well versed in and he didn't try to tell me any one diet is a bad idea. But nevertheless, I don't know what to think anymore. Some people insist that plants are a vital source of fibre that our digestive system and microbiome needs. Others insist that plants actually cause inflammation and block nutrient absorption. The idea of the carnivore diet freaks me out too much to try. How will my digestive system function without the fibre? What will my microbiome consume? How can foods that have been declared carcinogens be wise to build my diet around? I always feel like advocates for particular diets, especially the more controversial ones, are so vague in what they say. They don't properly address how eating this way could actually be healthy all-round. They don't properly explain how it can be wise to consume so little fibre and what it means for the microbiome. What about the various nutrients and compounds in plants that are known to contribute to a healthy life? How can we possibly filter all this information? I swear a lot of the time it amounts to just finding someone/something that sounds plausible or like what you want to hear and going with that. Personally I would love to believe that a carnivore diet is healthy because I would be thrilled to leave of high-quality meat, fish, eggs, cheese etc. That would make me happy. But might it not also destroy my microbiome and make visits to the toilet an endurance sport?

It's super easy, go for the result of Medical Journal from Meta Analysis and all of journals inside of it were peer reviewed, should be double blind, placebo, 100,000 participants (minimum), cohort of 20-70 yrs old, more than 20 years experiment to human. Bonus if its not sponsored by interested for-profit entities. It's really confusing because the social media doctors are for views(profit) and not really for your well being. At the end of the day you must DYOR.

I was strict plant base and had many of the same thoughts as you. I had to do a lot of deep dive research first. It turns out that I learned through my own transition and going on Keto and eventually to the ultimate elimination diet (carnivore) that the plant fiber I was so entrenched in was the reason for my IBS, constipation, gallbladder disease, GERD/heartburn. I do 70% fat to 30% protein ratio (I use an app called carb manager to track my macros) and I have zero digestive issues. My microbiome is perfectly fine because it just shifted to what it would be that humans have had for their diet for thousands of years. I have been doing this now for 15 months and will never go back. I try certain foods but end up with my old symptoms flaring and realize that it really is not worth it. I love feeling great. I recommend watching Zoe Harcombe for the fiber myth, Sally K Norton on Oxalates, Dr. Georgia Ede, and many more. Best wishes.

Unfortunately there’s so much anecdotal evidence that the big corporations don’t want to do the research, so we have to share our stories. I was nearly vegan as I had digestive problems that never went away with vegetarian. Having digestive issues has made me search high and low for the help I needed. Im 56 now,6’1 used to be 205-225 depending on running season. I’ve always been athletic and played competitive sports. Half marathon is my fun run. However my digestive issues were getting worse and after a few months on carnivore I have regular bowel movements. When I sampled some “treats” at work my issues came back. I’m going to stay here for about 6 months and reintroduce some plants to see my reaction. Also the weight loss on carnivore is impressive. I’m now 175 and leaner than I ever thought possible. Again this is purely anecdotal and yet there’s literally hundreds of thousands of people having positive results.

I have been carnivore for three years, and in that time I have been in carnivore groups, followed carnivore channels, and I have read literally thousands of comments from other carnivores, so I can say with certainty that yes, carnivore is wonderful for putting autoimmune diseases into remission. Also mental health disorders. I was diagnosed with bipolar II back in 2002, but the last decade or so I haven't had that much hypomania, but I've had near-constant depression and debilitating anxiety. Not to mention just flat out negative thought patters that I seemed unable to change. All of that is completely better on carnivore. I don't even procrastinate anymore, and my almost life-long phobia of bees and wasps is also gone. If I hadn't experienced it myself I wouldn't' believe it. Although I didn't go carnivore for my mental health. Something was really wrong with my physically. I don't have a diagnosis because my doctor is useless, but whatever it was might have been an autoimmune issue. Whatever it was, the many awful symptoms I had are in remission when I'm carnivore. When I eat off plan they start coming back.

@jaecheveyo51404 ай бұрын
ONLY if you eat carbohydrates. The British Navy (1800s and earlier) brought wheat and grains when they sailed. They would get scurvy and had to bring limes for the vitamin C. The Vikings brought mostly meat; they never got scurvy. Vitamin C is not necessary on a low Carb diet
@adriver894 ай бұрын
There is a competition between vitamin C and carbohydrates for absorption. There is vitamin c in meat, just not very much. If you eat meat, you won’t get scurvy. If you eat meat with carbohydrates that have no vitamin c in them, you will get scurvy. Does that make sense? Without carbohydrates you need a fraction of the amount of vitamin C.
@harrybelshaw94714 ай бұрын
@@adriver89 okay, but doesn’t Vit C help with iron absorption and collagen production as well? It’s not just to prevent scurvy. I suppose what I am getting at is whether it’s optimal to have very little vitamin C as opposed to obtaining vitamin C through consumption of whole fruits etc
@adriver894 ай бұрын
Organ meats have significant vit c in them. Carnivore enthusiast don’t necessarily disagree that more is NOT better. Obviously getting all the nutrients in substantial amounts is a good thing. The point of carnivore is to avoid the anti nutrients in plants and avoid inflammation from plants. That’s why so many people choose carnivore.
