Hi, thank you for your generous content. I was wondering if with the carnivore and/or the optimum diet, do you still recommend to use vitamin A like retinoids or retinols,.. for treating acne, anti aging and more,. Or is the diet much more powerful and the vitamin A are pretty useless ? Thanks 👍

Thank you for your exceptional presentation at the carnivore conference: one of the highlights of a wonderful weekend. I was wondering with your knowledge and background if you had guidance on utilising carnivore whilst having Gilbert’s syndrome? I wonder sometimes if my liver’s inability to metabolise fat on occasion leads to issues even when eating 100% carnivore

Equatorial wild game animals are VERY lean. We need to take that into account when looking at the ancestral fat intake. They were not eating fatty farmed meats & dairy. Bone marrow perhaps.

I don't think making the assumption that people had a perfect diet in the past is a good idea. I think out food is so different from then. Our lifestyles are so different from then. And why would anyone at that time worry about eating well, they were possibly more worried about just eating anything at all.
@Freddie1M
@Freddie1M Ай бұрын
This argument still doesn't make sense because ultimately all that matters is whether back then we were better adapted to consuming plants or animals. Dr Abs's argument is that it would be impossible to be better adapted to consuming plants if it wasn't the dominant part of the diet. It is completely implausible that we would be better adapted to eating plants but somehow eat predominantly meat. How would that come about from a perspective of evolution?
@DroppingBearVictim
@DroppingBearVictim Ай бұрын
Because what we ate back then is what our bodies have adapted to breakdown and absorb. Can’t just eat something as your predominant food for 2+ million years, then start eating radically different stuff and expect the body to cope. He touches on this from 12:30

33:45 Dr Abs this is easy, go to the number 2 and tell them they can become number 1 by going on the carnivore diet...there is nothing to lose. If number 2 becomes number 1 then the former number 1 can be persuaded to do it in order to become number 1 again. 😛

Hey Dr. Abs, I have a question about collagen. I saw your videos about collagen but they were mainly focused the aesthetic aspect of collagen supplements and how most supplements lack the type of collagen that would actually be useful for the skin. As an athlete, my question is about the benefits of taking collagen for joints health and recovery. Are the types of collagen peptides found in supplements like the brand "Vital Proteins" useful for joints health, recovery and physical performance? Or are they useless because they lack certain types of collagen in the same way as taking collagen peptides for the skin?

If you want more collagen production, take glycine. It is the rate limiting factor for collagen production by the body. The other substrates for collagen aren't a problem because they are more commonly consumed, but glycine is somewhat limited in our diet. I take 9 to 12 grams of glycine daily, and it's been a game changer in my life.
@DASHGuide
@DASHGuide Ай бұрын
@@mj625 Did you really feel a difference? I feel like the supplements I take do not really have any effect on me.
@mj625
@mj625 Ай бұрын
@@DASHGuide it was a very noticeable difference for me. It may vary from person to person depending on how well their body makes collagen and age may play a role. I am 50 and in fairly good shape. I buy glycine in bulk powder and consume liberally, sometimes more than the 12 grams I originally stated. It has been estimated that humans consumed 20 grams or more per day in our ancestral diets because humans actually ate the whole animal, which is not that common today. Much of the animal parts with the most glycine are just thrown out in today's culture.

Hi. I am female, 39 years of age. I feel best on FAT. I gain weight as soon as I start eating protein. Is it sustainable to be on high fat very low protein longterm ?
@lightsfury_nord
@lightsfury_nord 9 күн бұрын
Most likely the weight you gain while eating protein is lean mass and is very good for you. If you go carnivore your body will automatically and naturally equalise on your ideal body weight. Girls need more fat but you have to listen to your body as you go. Start at 80/20 fat to protein and see how you feel, some days you might crave more protein and then you should listen to your cravings 😃 the important thing is to be as low carb as possible and preferably 0 carbs. Good luck and maybe look up more info from Bella the stake and butter girl

There is no such thing as a carnivore diet for centenarians. High carb centenarians. 2010 study title: "Discovery of Novel Sources of Vitamin B12 in Traditional Korean Foods from Nutritional Surveys of Centenarians." These Korean centenarians consume a high carb diet with 87% of plant foods and 13% from animal foods. They have almost no access to synthetic vitamins, supplements or fortified foods. Centenarian men take in about 1700 calories per day and about 300 grams of carbs per day. These people are set in their ways they do not play games with diets or experiment with any type of money making fad diet.

We conclude that because everything that he has said IS ACTUAL FACT!!! As he said, no-one can argue with any of this , its not epi studies, its established science, its established fact! Remember? FOLLOW THE SCIENCE! That will work, IF IT IS ACTUALLY SCIENCE!. None of this video is conjecture, it is ALL scientific fact! What are you going to argue with? Start by looking up the Randle Cycle, which he explained in this video. Neal Barnard is one who tries to blame fat in the diet for Diabetes, this speaker refutes that argument!

Hi! I'm a dude in my late 30s and I do remodeling/ construction. Never really had acne issues or anything like that and my skin is in decent shape. However, after a day's work I'm all dusty and stuff and regular bs cleansers like CeraVe or whatever it's called make my skin super dry, especially in the winter. Could you please recommend a cleanser for me( believe the skin on my face is a bit oily) or should I try the Epionce purifying wash? I feel like I get dry skin as soon as cooler weather hits and it's probably time that I start taking care a bit of the old moneymaker. Hope that you see this, and if you do thank you in advance! And I'm willing to listen to suggestions from the community as well. Thanks again

This is all good and carnivore is great but the "logic" of what people ate VS what we Should or what we Need for optimal has some massive holes. Meaning it is still a leap of faith. Many civilians have lived without beef. Cows are not 4 million yrs old. Randle cycle is good but even Dr. Randle didn't have all the tools or information. We have to look all the nuance. We also have to consider many groups. Diet is about helping everyone. For example the male who wants to put on 100lbs (muscle and fat) for powerlifting, bodybuilding, strongman competitor (generally 400lb males). We also have to consider patients who do not eat meat for religious beliefs or just plan don't like meat. The best way to get more people eating carnivore is for all KZbinr to focus on shutting down Coke, Pepsi, major food companies and restaurants. Once these are closed, carnivore, fruits and vegetables will be the only option left. Next we must get everyone to STOP investing in 401k, mutual funds, stocks or anything that provides funding to big food companies. Next, get all of their workers to find new jobs.

Can some one clarify this carnivore diet is it only Meat based 100% no vegetables, no frut, no berries at all - if that is The case it don’t make sense to me because common sense is that humans has always eat berries and frut if available from Nature Easy to access if it is present were as Meat and fish need special skills to get access to, fish you Can eat raw, where Meat is more difficult and when fire was discovered it changed - I have no issue at 64 but have always eating clean cook my own food I Think The problem is procced food and suger. i don’t like The idea that you put all Eggs in The same bucket like investment don’t put al Your money on The same horse. I Think The problem with all these health issue started around 100 Years ago when The Industry of proccessed food started. 😊
