And a scientific masters degree (MSc.) in other countries is not a one year "thing" either, mine was two years of research (after 5 years for the bachelor degree). So, it took me 11 years in total to get the "Dr." title. Anyway, sorry to hear about all of this. P.s. I did think physicians used the title Dr. informally, did not know it was actually a right... Hi All, As a Psychologist in Australia, let's be clear, A PhD can be a 1 year degree, especially in earlier times before professional students could leave high school a start a Doctor of Psychology course which ends up with a PhD but within it is likely a 3 year under grad, 2 year Master's and a 1 yeah PhD if you did it as a separate courses. So by the time one's achieved a degree and a Post Grad Diploma or Masters or whatever then it is likely (with these other degrees on board, the PhD will be just another year. Wake up everyone, especially the kids here, Dr Abs, being a Dentist scores the title Dr anyways, which should calm you fools out there down. Goodness. There are lots of possible reasons. For example. Let's say you are a vegan who believes that animal life is equal to human life, and humans eating animals are genocide. If you believed that it would be the moral thing to do to bully anyone who promotes animal consumption into changing what they promote. Even if it's called Dr. Not that I care, Dr Abs is great 👍🏻 In order to become a dentist, you first need a degree in dentistry from an acknowledged university. Dentistry programmes tend to last five years including subjects such as pathology, anatomy, biochemistry and a range of other scientific fields. The course also involves a practical section, which ensures that trainee dentists are able to put the theory they have learned into practice. Once the trainee dentist has completed their education, they need to be registered with the General Dental Council in addition to working for a set amount of time in a dental practice. Depending on the career path the trainee wishes to take, they may need to continue their education and training, enabling them to acquire new techniques and treatments. The title Dr, derived from a PhD, is mainly used within the confines of the profession to which it relates. The title of Dr as derived from a medical degree has always been used as a respectful coutesy title, the one exception being in the case of surgeons, specifically in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

I think the disconnect is in order to be a Doctor in the US a doctor needs to have completed a related four year undergrad degree before heading to med school and obtaining a MD Doctor of Medicine Degree which is a Professional Doctorate Degree. Where in the UK I assume the Bachelor of Medicine can qualify you as a doctor in addition to 2 or more years of post graduate training. But anyway reporting a Registered Doctor to the medical registry which Licenses him the right to use the title Doctor is Diabolical. That guy is misinformed and confused. My sibling has a masters in kinesiology and a PhD in sports science and knows nothing about weight training and basic nutrition. She does some fancy exercises to lose weight instead of going to the gym and blames the reason for not losing weight on her hormones, when her diet is 💩. Says Smith machine squats are not optimal, deadlift is injurious to the back, and does some fancy exercises with 2 kg dumbbells to gain muscle and lose fat-body comp, it seems. I have lost 27 kg in one year without tracking calories. I did weight training and 10k steps per day. I did consume creatine and fast for 16 hours. IF makes it easy to restrict calories. I followed the Atkins diet. My sibling fat shamed me so badly and now regrets it. I lost weight, and she is still fat. In fact, she is fat and ugly. PhD's mean 💩. I have a degree in bachelors of dental surgery, and my knowledge about exercise, nutrition, supplements and medications is far better than that of my sibling, who has a PhD.

Only in a few minutes, maybe I can see the confusion where in the unites states, Canada, and other countries where you receive a MD or DO and it’s required to have an undergrad degree (or at bare minimum 2-3 years of undergraduate study depending on the university) to be admitted to do a medical degree program, where you officially are a doctor of medicine, wheras in places like the UK you can be admitted to a medicine program as an undergrad.

For whoever is not fully clear on this: the guy who is complaining is confused about the title "Doctor" and the title "PhD" which is also a "Doctor" title, as the "D" stands for "doctor" and "Ph" stands for "Philosophy", so PhD = Doctor of Philosphy. However you don't need to study philosophy to have a PhD, it's just a title, which means you have advanced knowledge of a particular field. The difference is this: a PhD can be obtained in any area of study (arts, history, science, engineering, business etc.) and once PhD obtained one can call himself a "Doctor" of history, arts, science etc. However, anyone graduating medical school, regardless of the field specialising in, is also a "Doctor", or more to the point a "Medical" doctor. So a "doctor" can be anyone in a medical field or someone who has a Phd in a different field other than medicine. All of them are doctors. But medical doctors don't need a PhD to call themselves "doctors", they are doctors by the definition of working in the medical field. The guy complaining does not know the difference.

I've listened to your videos and find them extremely refreshing. As a former student and employee of an Ivy League dental school, I ask you to continue with the work you do here on this platform. People need your kind of insight. Also, remember when someone comes for you in this manner is because you are doing something right. This person is using your notoriety to try and be known. I would start by looking into how many complaints from patients this person has received. Possible lawsuits, if they see patients how many have died or are not doing well under this person's care. I am a relatively new follower, I really enjoy your content and your skin knowledge is incredible, but until I looked for you on the GMC register today and read your LinkedIn I had also assumed you were a medical doctor. Some of the video names confused me like “Doctor exposes collagen product scams” and “Doctor shows how to spot skincare marketing tricks”. Of course you have the ability to use the title and you worked hard to graduate as a dentist though. The permitted uses of the courtesy title are unclear to me. @@stangboy3029 no we aren't...our use of the "Dr" title is honorary and, in the UK, it is a legal requirement to state that you are a dentist and not mislead anybody into the assumption that you are a medical doctor - which he is not.

Dr. Chaffee has a couple of other physicians that are doing the same to him. He is having to take legal action against them for defamation and unethical behavior. As you said it would not be difficult to verify your credentials so it sounds like this is intentional and rather malicious. Keep records and report as necessary. I enjoy your videos!

It’s about competition. You are outstanding, you are young, you are an extraordinarily beautiful man, you are very well educated, you are successful. And you get attention on other YT channels as well. Listen to other plastic surgeons on their channel… who are very successful themselves, but recently doubted by the audience, or at least get questions about HA for example, they shouldn’t feel afraid of competition, if they are right… They claim you’d act out of ego, not scientific interest. I assume, the one I’m talking about is not the only one. They finally found a “weak” point. That’s the price for being outstanding. You disturb them that’s fact.

In the US, a medical degree can only be attained on top of a four-year undergrad university degree. Medical school is then four years . A three to four year residency follows and then several additional years depending on speciality. Thus, a minimum of six to seven years of medical school and training beyond a four year university degree. It can take specialists 10-12 years before they can fully practice in their specialty. Is this very different than in other countries?

UK Medical school is an undergraduate dual degree Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MBChB), it is 5-6 years long depending on your pre university qualifications. There are also some 4 year programs available for graduates. Training after university is similar to the US.

This is a confusion that occurs for example in European countries: In my country, the "PhD" is called a "doctorate" and the title is put in FRONT OF the name, so "Dr. Peter Taylor". At the same time, you can have a medical doctor degree, where the title is put BEHIND the name, so "Peter Taylor, dr.med". You can also be a medical doctor AND have a PhD, so that would be "Dr. Peter Taylor, dr.med.". In your case "Dr.Abs" would mean that, since the "Dr" was put in front of the name, that would mean that you're I dictating you have a "PhD", which the person deems misleading. I am 100% sure this is where the confusion comes from, and where your different views stem from. Find out where the person is from, and what are the rules for using a "Dr" title in FRONT of the name.

@@avgonyma1 I'm Italian, the title Dr or doctor is given to every person that graduates in university. My brother is doctor in architecture, my cousin is doctor in law. They're not MDS (medical dr) obviously. My medical doctor is MD and PhD and university professor, he uses the words Professor Dottore before his name, not after.

Oh, Mark is going to feel justified when he gets responses back from "employers who don't employ" you, or regulating bodies who don't have your name and practice in their records. Hope you have all your vids backed up. It's obviously a payroll troll assigned to get you canceled on this platform. And since you don't have the certified licensed professional verification label listed under your channel name, one complaint could get your channel wiped. They don't like any health claims of anything, truth or not, that goes against WHO guidelines, it's against their policies and rules. The person may sound like he doesn't know what he's talking about, but that's intentional, so you won't worry about it. Back up all vids asap. Find another platform and start setting up. Dig into the guidelines and cover your bases. If YT were to hear about a complaint/report against you from a health agency, even if you are licensed, even if it wasn't proven to be false or true yet, they would terminate. It's not jealousy. It's not stupidity. It's intentional. And is happening a lot to uncertified channels claiming health remedies as licensed professional. Especially holistic and natural remedies. And insinuations of deception in the indoctrinated medical field.

In fairness in the UK if you are a dentist Dr is a courtesy title and legally cannot be used to imply they are a medical practitioner. Dentists aren’t doctors of medicine so whilst they can use the title it can be somewhat misleading and they need to comply with regulations if they decide to use it. It is quite ambiguous, not illegal as long as you don’t try and pass yourself as an actual medical dr but it’s also a bit of a vanity title. Generally you do need a PhD to call yourself a Dr, which takes a minimum of three years, not one as stated in the video (which you have corrected in the comments).

There are plenty of individuals in the medical field that are NOT Medical doctors that have more knowledge and common sense regarding healthcare and how to keep yourself healthy and prevent disease. Just because you are a MEDICAL doctor doesn’t mean you are more qualified than say a doctor of dentistry or other title that can be used to say you’re a doctor. Some MD’s are stupid.
