And a scientific masters degree (MSc.) in other countries is not a one year "thing" either, mine was two years of research (after 5 years for the bachelor degree). So, it took me 11 years in total to get the "Dr." title. Anyway, sorry to hear about all of this. P.s. I did think physicians used the title Dr. informally, did not know it was actually a right... Hi All, As a Psychologist in Australia, let's be clear, A PhD can be a 1 year degree, especially in earlier times before professional students could leave high school a start a Doctor of Psychology course which ends up with a PhD but within it is likely a 3 year under grad, 2 year Master's and a 1 yeah PhD if you did it as a separate courses. So by the time one's achieved a degree and a Post Grad Diploma or Masters or whatever then it is likely (with these other degrees on board, the PhD will be just another year. Wake up everyone, especially the kids here, Dr Abs, being a Dentist scores the title Dr anyways, which should calm you fools out there down. Goodness. Even if it's called Dr. Not that I care, Dr Abs is great 👍🏻 In order to become a dentist, you first need a degree in dentistry from an acknowledged university. Dentistry programmes tend to last five years including subjects such as pathology, anatomy, biochemistry and a range of other scientific fields. The course also involves a practical section, which ensures that trainee dentists are able to put the theory they have learned into practice. Once the trainee dentist has completed their education, they need to be registered with the General Dental Council in addition to working for a set amount of time in a dental practice. Depending on the career path the trainee wishes to take, they may need to continue their education and training, enabling them to acquire new techniques and treatments. Some dentists choose specialities and cosmetic dentistry has become increasingly popular in recent years.

I think the disconnect is in order to be a Doctor in the US a doctor needs to have completed a related four year undergrad degree before heading to med school and obtaining a MD Doctor of Medicine Degree which is a Professional Doctorate Degree. Where in the UK I assume the Bachelor of Medicine can qualify you as a doctor in addition to 2 or more years of post graduate training. But anyway reporting a Registered Doctor to the medical registry which Licenses him the right to use the title Doctor is Diabolical. That guy is misinformed and confused. You generally aren't even eligible to complete a PhD until you already have a degree with honours, or a post graduate degree. A PhD is an original contribution to knowledge in a specific field, and in the sciences generally takes years and years of research. The thesis is vigorously assessed by multiple experts and must be defended to their satisfaction before it can be passed. It is considered a higher degree in all disciplines, including medicine. Hardly nothing.

The title Dr, derived from a PhD, is mainly used within the confines of the profession to which it relates. The title of Dr as derived from a medical degree has always been used as a respectful coutesy title, the one exception being in the case of surgeons, specifically in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Only in a few minutes, maybe I can see the confusion where in the unites states, Canada, and other countries where you receive a MD or DO and it’s required to have an undergrad degree (or at bare minimum 2-3 years of undergraduate study depending on the university) to be admitted to do a medical degree program, where you officially are a doctor of medicine, wheras in places like the UK you can be admitted to a medicine program as an undergrad.

In Australia they recently tamped down on the cosmetic industry because it had become a cowboy industry with cosmetic ‘doctors’ actually doing plastic surgery. It got so out of control and people were getting seriously injured, ill and dying.

Hope you have all your vids backed up. It's obviously a payroll troll assigned to get you canceled on this platform. And since you don't have the certified licensed professional verification label listed under your channel name, one complaint could get your channel wiped. They don't like any health claims of anything, truth or not, that goes against WHO guidelines, it's against their policies and rules. The person may sound like he doesn't know what he's talking about, but that's intentional, so you won't worry about it. Back up all vids asap. Find another platform and start setting up. Dig into the guidelines and cover your bases. If YT were to hear about a complaint/report against you from a health agency, even if you are licensed, even if it wasn't proven to be false or true yet, they would terminate. It's not jealousy. It's not stupidity. It's intentional. And is happening a lot to uncertified channels claiming health remedies as licensed professional. Especially holistic and natural remedies. This is a confusion that occurs for example in European countries: In my country, the "PhD" is called a "doctorate" and the title is put in FRONT OF the name, so "Dr. Peter Taylor". At the same time, you can have a medical doctor degree, where the title is put BEHIND the name, so "Peter Taylor, dr.med". You can also be a medical doctor AND have a PhD, so that would be "Dr. Peter Taylor, dr.med.". In your case "Dr.Abs" would mean that, since the "Dr" was put in front of the name, that would mean that you're I dictating you have a "PhD", which the person deems misleading. I am 100% sure this is where the confusion comes from, and where your different views stem from. Find out where the person is from, and what are the rules for using a "Dr" title in FRONT of the name.

@@avgonyma1 I'm Italian, the title Dr or doctor is given to every person that graduates in university. My brother is doctor in architecture, my cousin is doctor in law. They're not MDS (medical dr) obviously. My medical doctor is MD and PhD and university professor, he uses the words Professor Dottore before his name, not after.

Its irrelevant where the knobhead who generated this email is from. Dr. Abs is only obligated to abide by the regulations regarding titles in the territory in which he works, which is the UK.

"A PhD degree is not anything." Maybe in UK English, but in American English a PhD is very much a degree, that is, a graduate degree not an undergraduate degree. I have a PhD and would be happy to call it a PhD degree. I'd also call an MD a degree, an MS a degree, and so on. Is it different in British English? Looks like. Oh, another thing: "Are you medically qualified?" I remember coming across that question on a form in the UK. As an American, the first thing that went through my mind was, "Of course I'm medically qualified to work here. I'm not sick or disabled or such." That is, the phrase "medically qualified" to me meant "healthy", not, "Are you licensed to practice medicine?" I could go on too about some other similar misunderstandings but I won't.
