Great video, Mike ❤ We all get tired of the s.o.s. it gets stale. Sometimes, it could be a simple case of burned out. You might even need to get away altogether for a bit. Either way, you ARE OLD SCHOOL TRUCKING ROYALTY!!! Don't you ever forget that ❣️💯

As someone who’s worked in the same career, with the same company, for nearly 25 years, I can’t even begin to tell you how much your words in this video resonate with me. I’ve had every single one of those conversations with myself over the past few years and I’ve felt all of those feels at one point or another as I often contemplate where I want to be tomorrow. You’re a very considerate man when it comes to your family, your employers, and yourself. Your boss’ words were beautiful. Good luck man!!

Hey Mike... It takes brass balls to give up a job you could do blindfolded and leaving top notch equipment like that W~9 behind for something different that might work out. It takes guts and you've got that Mike. Tony is a class act and I'd be proud to know you both. Life is short my friend and no matter the path you choose Mike I hope your always happy at wherever you do !

Hi Mike, good luck in your new company. I have enjoyed your videos, even though I am not a trucker. My uncle ran a trucking and heavy equipment company back in the 60's and 70's and had a 1966 Mack B-61 and then some R-600 Macks, some IH Transtars and even a Chev C90 with a Detroit. I actually have worked in the radio business for the past 45 years, and in a parallel to your dislike of automatic trucks, I saw the way radio was going with all the automation. So, I left a steady job 45 minutes away at a commercial station and with a group of friends we started a 6,500 watt Community Radio station. That was 12 years ago, and we are having a lot of fun. We still use computers but the feeling is the same as when we were using 45's and reel-to-reel tapes and tape cartridges. This video was a lot like where I was 12 years ago. Thanks Mike !

Best of luck to you mike and the cardillo’s. There’s nothing wrong in wanting to stretch your legs a little. You’re at a point in life that you can do that. Financially stable, family pretty much grown , get out there and sow your oats. You are a true trucker, your new job will exactly what you make it and with your work ethic it’ll be a bonus for you and the new company. Again, best of luck in the transition

What a pretty truck. Mine would never look that clean after ONE day here in the PNW. Washington weather is brutal on our trucks. I’ve been in the dirt business for 40 years now. Welcome to the peterbilt club. 18 speed all day long in this business. I got a little choked up when your boss spoke. That’ll stay with you for ever.

I can relate to what you're saying. I've been at the same place for over 14 years. I have the same issues: seven minute ride to work, and can basically do whatever I want on the job. But, I do a lot of the same thing too, day after day. Drive vehicles that don't really appeal to me that much. But I'm home every night, and know the job inside out. The owner comes to me for advice lol, I've been here longer that him. I honestly stay because there's no where else to go locally, and I'm comfortable. You have to do what makes you happy. You can always go back to Cardillo if it doesn't work out. Good luck Mike!

Mike has much respect for you Tony , you showed them that you have & take pride in your ride & it absolutely shows. As a kid in the 70's I have always loved the KW's & still do. Well Pac Car kinda put a hole in boat when the came out with the w990, Don't really care for it. KW & Pete's are built by Pac Car. The 389 looks not bad at all, but you have the old school classic look of a XH 379 ( long hood

Big , big thumbs up to your son who did the intro , Love the Mack and the twin stick shifting and it's not a KW so who knows. Leave the Mack & twin stick and music , put a Pete profile .But your still 'The Boston Trucker' , can't change that or the different rigs you've worked with either. Possibly a cool shot of the KW front end added to the intro as a tribute to the Cardillo's. Good luck on this new adventure !! Can't wait to see the Pete you get. Your truck is like my electricians tool box , don't touch anything, ask to borrow and replace what you break.

Man I know it's hard to leave a company you've loved been good and loyal to and they to you but you can't replace family time and if a job offer comes up where it checks all the boxes.....you'd regret it the rest of your life if you didn't give it a go. That's all any of us want, feel part of the company and a little recognition for doing a solid job. Good luck with new adventure.

I’m 65 and not even close to being ready to retire. I’m just someone who thrives on going to work everyday and being a productive member of society. I’ve been driving commercial vehicles since I was 16 years old. Stared as a school bus driver as a junior in high school………lol shutter the thought these days, but anyway, although I spent the bulk of my working years as a state trooper, I never wasn’t driving a truck at least part time. The last 10 years I’ve spent working as a coordinator and CDL state examiner at a community college……….VERY STRESSFUL!! At this point in my life I would sort of like to spend the rest of my working life with a small business like A Cardillo. I wish you Gods speed on your new journey. Folks like you and the Cardillos are rare. You’ve, very wisely, averted “bridge burning”. Take care and be safe.

Great video Mike, it was interesting watching the struggle of whether to stay or go. Hardest part was watching Tony talk with a tear in his eye. Wishing you best of luck in future endeavor and look forward to new videos. Sometimes ya got to change stuff up

Be an owner operator, if anyone has the most experience, it would be you. Just work for yourself, be crazy about your own equipment, best of luck Boston trucker. Go owner op!

Good move. Keep up the relationship with the Cardillo family (I want Cardillo merch) .I just left a 25 + year position at a truck dealership - it’s hard to find anybody in this business that has a passion for trucks. They could be copy machines as far as most employees are concerned. Tony’s comment are priceless and you have it recorded - awesome. Shell - Listen to Tony, buy/Lease the truck! Thanks for sharing your personal decision.
