@@AutismSees Cease and desist letters aren't legally enforceable. It's basically just a scary request on a lawyer's letterhead. It has to go through the court system to be considered copyright infringement. Companies do this because it's easier to frighten people into complying with a takedown notice rather than going to court. But the sad truth is that if it does go to court, they can just keep it tied up while the little people quickly run out of finances. It's always all about the money.

It is heartbreaking and harsh, intimidating, and difficult to understand this type of letter. As therapists with altruistic motivation, it can be confounding to sort out how a body of knowledge can be commercialized, owned, and rule-governed for trade purposes. The definition of "copyrights" versus the "fair use" definition when the material IS copyrighted will require the assistance of at least 3 attorneys on your behalf, each having their own niche of experience, understanding, and perspectives of applicability to this situation. Please don't feel it is any failure on your part, we are all learning in this life, and it is complex society to navigate daily. Law is all around us as professionals in every context, even as educators. So, I hope to uplift you and help you to not take it as too personal, though your effort is of personal importance, but part of having to live in a litigious society. You will emerge from this as more informed, sharper, clearer, and more motivated, and refining your direction to be individually yours! Two ideas: 1) put a disclaimer at start of each video that you are not attempting to simulate or share exam internal knowledge, and 2) refine your content away from NBCOT and make it more about your personal practice, insights, experiences, research, areas of interest, etc. Just my two cents. Yes, my dad told me I should be a lawyer since I was 10 years old, my sister and other family members are, Haha! My passions are people, movement, and helping, so I hope you can see where I am coming from ;) All the best, never give up your internal motivation, rather refine and re-imagine and re-create around any obstacles, this is life.

I'm sure there will be enough comments and responses from the public to help you out to show how angered we all are because of this and how you were forced to remove all of your content. Just remember, WE ALL LOVE YOU AND ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!! You are a huuuuge reason why I was able to pass my exam on my second try, and I know without a doubt that you were one of the reasons for so many others. And because of this, we are all able to help individuals in need of our help in pediatrics, NICU, geriatrics, adults, Neuro, burns units, Alzheimer's, SNIF's, and you name it!!! WE ARE ALL HELPING THE WORLD BECAUSE OF YOU!!! WE LOVE YOU, MIRI, AND ALL THAT YOU DO!! I hope to see your page back up again soon!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

This is so sad 😣. If we ever get to meet in person. I am from Malta in Europe. Such people are few on this planet. Thank you for your time and patience. Those videos were so good. Such a shame! We are behind you!

I was so looking forward to your videos. Ive already passed NBCOT for COTA , Im just enough of a nerd with a strong auditory learning preference that I like to enhance my learning on certain topics because OT is such a broad field. NBCOT has me baffled on this decision.

This saddens me so much! I can't believe this. You helped me retain so much information and your positivity pushed me to keep studying. I honestly believe that your videos helped me pass my nbcot cota exam. I was planning on bringing to become an otr and use your videos now I won't have this :(. You have been an amazing resource and I hate that you're going through this and that future students won't have you to study. I'm truly heartbroken.

I’m so so sorry! I am taking my boards soon and I have watched many videos of yours to learn I’m so sad! I would call them and see if you can fight this. It’s so unfair you actually make me understand things I struggle with.

This is such heartbreaking news. Your videos have helped me (and very many others) wrap my head around and conceptualize difficult content throughout OTA school and beyond. Thank you so much for putting your time and effort and your beautiful heart into creating this free and helpful content for us. The OT community love and support you Miri. ❤️❤️❤️

Oh no, this is so sad. I'm a first year OT student and have just recently discovered this channel! It has been so helpful in my schooling so far, and I hope OT Miri is back full force by the time I take the NBCOT :)
