Two weeks ago, I calculated how much of my salary I use.. 12% ma’am! I spend 12% of my salary! Now with that said, the rest of the 88% I save, invest, and when I get dividends I reinvest them back into my stocks... the goal is financial independence. Financial independence is the ability to provide for your living expenses for the rest of your life without having to rely on a job. Financial independence means you don not have to exchange your time for money. Your greatest asset is your time! “It’s not your salary that makes you rich, it’s your spending habits.” Charles Jaffe I could talk about money all day! 🤗😂 Loved this Yolenda! ❤️

Hi cc. Would you be so kind to share where you save and invest.
@ntokozongcobo40914 жыл бұрын
isiphile mathafeni I put away x amount away into my savings account, I use Tyme Bank for my savings, you earn 7% interest with your money just chilling there, also their banking fees are better than most. For investing I use EasyEquities. Also, it’s important to do your own research before you jump onto anything! ❤️

Just curious. Does that 12% include your rent/bond and car? Do u save and buy them cash? Or loans/finances?
@ntokozongcobo40914 жыл бұрын
thatboisyd insta Fortunately I live at home, I Uber everywhere I need to be, I work from home. That’s how I get to save so much. Also I’m fortunate enough to have parents that require no black tax. Literally the 12% is me paying myself for working so hard.

I literally rewatched this 3 times just to meditate on it / bask in it. Honestly my money journey changed in 2018 when I simply decided money is my God given portion and not my master. It works for me and not the other way round. I have kept that with me and when I slack, I remind myself and go back to that state of mind. However this year I decided to be intentional and basically apply the notion that “my money serves purpose and where it goes it grows” as you put it. It’s also important to not be hard on ourselves and realize that we deserve good things (new jeans & shoes not faded ones or worn out) and not fear it. Living in fear of “what if I end up broke or what if this happens”, those somehow imprisoned me so I had to remind myself of God’s truth, that fear is not from God and you know what, whilst always preparing for tomorrow, today is what I have and not even fear should steal that. We were taught how to make money, just not what to do with it and how to make it grow or work for us, hence we are so uncomfortable around it.

Great money lessons 🌺Hearing people saying "you're pushing someone's vision" can be really draining for a person trying make ends meet. I do accept that I'm probably taking this statement out of context but for me it's easier said than done. Life is not as simple🌺not that this video mentioned anything about a 9/5 but I just wish we would encourage/inspire without looking down on corporate ❤️
@Bhojongwane4 жыл бұрын
The aim is not to discourage a 9/5, it's to help you realize that it shouldn't be your destination. It shouldn't be a comfort zone. Just a platform of learning and allowing you to save up for your own shishini 1 day. Not that you can save up till you can start your own corporate, but save that you can sell some service/products on the side because you will never be reach your financial potential on a salary. We all have to start somewhere, hence we work 9/5. But don't be comfortable. Coz the bosses one works for are playing gold and taking vacations while you burm the midnight oil trying to meet your deadlines. Strive to get out of your 9/5.
@silindiledlomo60504 жыл бұрын
I totally get that but the thing is 'saying 9/5' can be your starting point is a totally different statement. I understand that narrative and that one is clear but in most cases that's not how it's said to be honest. I get that it's to encourage, which is why I said I do wish we can encourage without dissing the 9/5. And also working for someone is not always the worst thing that could happen for someone's career. I get your perspective and I don't disagree. But I feel like the way it's said is a bit insensitive, that's all I'm trying to say. 🌺
@Bhojongwane4 жыл бұрын
@@silindiledlomo6050 I understand you sisi. This world is not as easily rewarding for bravity as they make it seem. Sometimes common sense and planning are your better allies than courage. I'm not saying courage has not made people millionaires/billionaires but tbe truth is, times are not like before. Nowadays you don't know how low you will have to stoop to reach even just R100 000. Let alone a million. The business world is ruthless and not always so kind. I've just been robbed of a hard-earned R17 000 in my aspirations of trying out the entrepreneurial world. It aint easy as we're led to led to think we're "lazy" if we don't test our entrepreneurial spirit. Kodwa ke ngiyaye ngithi most businesspeople have a story to tell, and that story wouldn't be inspiring without hardships and disappointment. It's 08 November 2020 after December 31st I will be unemployed (as I already resigned from work simply because my 9-5 doesn't allow me time to explore the entrepreneurial side of mine). I KNOW it's not gonna be easy. I'm expecting at least 3 years of hardship (just to condition my mind that I'm not gonna be rich overnigh). I worked 9-5 but it left me feel drained, depressed, undervalued and now I'm trying a different route. Let's appreciate the security our 9-5s give us but let us not give up on our dream of financial and just freedom of time to live, really live, and get more out of life than what it shown before our eyes but is not there is to life. I have hope. I have expectation of disappointment. I have hope, again, that even that disappointment is part of the story I will have to tell 1 day. To inspire and educate others coming after me. I owe it to my hard-working mom, family, unborn children to choose a road difficult and less traveled by so their lives change through the change of my mentality. I appreciate everything, 9-5 and all, but there's more to life. And I never wanna lose sight of that.
