You should lookup landrace gardening, it's all about saving seeds and promoting biodiversity to help plants protect themselves from pests and disease, there are people trying to get garlic and potatoes to produce seeds more frequently and have those seeds produce higher yields, they say that using clones ruins the genetic diversity of the plants and the same with heirlooms

Lactoferment your cherry tomatoes (give them some stabs with a toothpick) with some garlic scapes, white peppercorns, and lemon basil. They will be sparkling.
@MeAndMyShadow12349 ай бұрын
The garlic Scape that produces the flower, most remove it as they are growing for the bulbs. however the flowers produce bulbils its like a clone of the parent.. size vary depending on variety. dry then plant in fall when you would do garlic bulbs... takes 2-3 years to get to mature bulbs. The reason the scapes are removed if left it would focus on the flower vs the bulb growth... And yes it needs the stratification so it will split into individual cloves, the cloves is not stratified it will often form rounds not bulbs. A round is a plant with a single large garlic clove instead of a bulb with multiple cloves

Also with your corn 🌽 you know how every hair equals 1 kernel? Well if your kernels are missing it because those hairs weren't pollinated so u have to shake them or find an area that is windier.

Right now is WAY too late for planting everything. The soil is all frozen with ice on top. Also remember to only use garlic that are meant for planting. I don't know why, but elderly ladies always remind me of this every time I talk about growing garlic.

"Also remember to only use garlic that are meant for planting" Are you talking about fresh garlic bulbs instead of dried ones? or what kind are you referring to, are the ones from a supermarket okay or am i gonna have to go to some plant market to get plant-able garlic bulbs?
@Johanna77777-z Жыл бұрын
@@sarahp5967 yes, you got it. You need to go to the plant store if your supermarket doesn't sell it. Most big supermarkets in Sweden have both seeds and onions to grow into new onions in the springtime.
@sarahp5967 Жыл бұрын
@@Johanna77777-z so with 'i got it' you do just mean fresh garlic? or were you referring to the second part? im from central europe, germany, netherlands, belgium, and theres a lot of regional products (esp garlic and potatoes and onions and apples are often regional) and i read that "It's generally best to buy your planting garlic from local garden companies so the varieties will suit your climate. Supermarket garlic can work, but it often comes from California or overseas and doesn't do well in garden plantings outside those areas." so i figured supermarket regional fresh garlic might work? also luckily most supermarkets do sell both fresh and dried garlic over here. but do correct me pls if im wrong :)
@Johanna77777-z Жыл бұрын
@@sarahp5967 hey, you have read more about this than me. I just reiterated what the ladies told me. It sounds to me that you are on the right track, but maybe ask in the plant store?

Hey i hope you could help me iwth this but do you know the fastest way to germinate strawberry seeds? i've tried all kinds of methods with no luck!
@samanthanimock2412 Жыл бұрын
So strawberry seeds take so long to grow! So if you’re starting from seed, it might take like a month to even see any sort of sprout. Also, I think planting in soil in a pot is the best starting option, but make sure to spray with a mister on top of the soil about every day, so they stay moist. I hope this helps!
@zzlpx Жыл бұрын
@@samanthanimock2412 thanks
@growithjessie Жыл бұрын
i would say planting them straight in soil and placing the pot in a really sunny spot, you should see sprouts in about 8-10 weeks pop up!

so true!!! 100% agreed

@@growithjessie what i did was slice off a thin layer off of a strawberry and lightly covered in soil and in just a few days i got a sprout. but i am trying with purely just seeds. I am doing a paper towel on a sunny window, one in the fridge for 3 weeks, and one in direct soil! Thanks for the help!
