Though I am a woman and maybe it’s considered a whole different thing I can say that - I have Been celibate for 6years (consecutively) No sexual interactions , no masturbation.. And even though I am certainly a very sensual being.. (even inhaling is a sensual act) Celibacy has felt so wonderful And in no way restrictive . As a woman I’ve experienced just how very much I’ve been objected to the lust of men And as flattering as it may seem to some women.. As beautiful and deep sexuality can be as well intimacy starts with our transparency to spirit And truly honoring each other - beyond compulsive notions.. that is romantic . And not only that It allows us to cultivate friendships Where depth and sincerity are at the core . After being sexually active since I was 17, I began practicing celibacy in my early 30's. The first run was about 1 year, the second was 3. It gave me so much insight into my motivations and tendencies in relationships as well as how to read the intentions of others. A lot of healing takes place when you give your body, mind, and spirit the space to discover what true alignment means for you. It gives you a stronger and clearer sense of where your energetic field ends and another begins.

I think at some point in my early 20's (I'm 27 now), I convinced myself that I needed to be sexually desirable to men to have true worth. And I just spiraled into this horrible pattern that attached ALL of my self worth to it. It was miserable. I was miserable. Until I forced myself to admit that despite becoming the object I thought I needed to be, the fulfillment I thought it would give me never appeared. It was a lie. And it hurt to know I'd been living the lie. So I stopped. The men I involved myself with, I basically said "I'm sorry, but I'm moving on to a different part of my life, and I wish you luck with yours". And that was it. And I haven't sought that sexual approval since 2019. I turned inward and had to ask myself, "okay, so now that you're done asking others how they feel about you, how do YOU feel about you? What do YOU enjoy? Who are you, really?" Now, it's up and down, and that's just life. But I can tell you, I don't miss what I was doing before. Celibacy has been something of a gift to me, and when the time comes and I know it's truly right, it will change. But right now I know it's what I need to do to help me.

This time, I’m learning to not be fearful of meeting new women and also just being honest with the gents in my life about not pursuing sex with other women as I have been so protective of my energy and also enjoy the aloneness of the journey. All the best with your journey. One love 👌🏽❤️

I’m so happy you are shedding light on this. As an Orthodox Christian and a former Benedictine monk, I can attest that celibacy is the vehicle to the virtue of chastity. Chastity helps us to remain pure of heart and connected with God. Thank you for talking about this especially in the midst of a hyper sexual generation. God bless 🙏🏽 Lord have mercy on us and keep us by Thy grace!

The desire hasn't helped me at all except for wearing my body out. Celibacy is SO SO good for the brain. You concentrate better, your energy is higher, if you can conquer your mind and desire, the return on physical health is so amazing.

It's crazy I'm seeing this now just as I decided 2 weeks ago to go celibate for a while. This video was definitely confirmation for me. Since I've made the decision, I've been so creative. Working on my music, practicing everyday 🎷, writing etc. I was really depressed and my house was a mess, I wasn't cooking any meals, and for the last few days I've been trying to clean and I've been cooking for me and my children, and i'm learning to love myself.

Starting this journey! Sex work has made me realize how much I need to take this step….it has also made me realize that I’m asexual! I’m using sex to meet financial needs/desires and it has certainly caused me to pivot. This line of work is destroying me spiritually! There’s just so much to unpack. Thanks for this.

When my mind can’t stop spinning and I can’t sit myself down, the atmosphere you create in your videos takes me straight out of that chaotic state and it brings about a new sense of urgency for my soul; one of peace and a need for tea. Lol. I was spiraling already this morning but now here I am making myself a soothing cup of tea, feeling soul-fed... your voice forces me out of that dreadful, stressed-out state. Thank you. Making a conscious decision to be celibate is more about inner intimacy, growth, refinement, healing and etc. It’s grounding and empowering. It reconnects one to higher self and surrounding. I'll be completely honest, I was introduced to things like porn early on (through peers) It really had a negative impact on my mindset, I seeked out toxic objectifying relationships, I won't say porn is necessarily like this for everyone but in my experience it really messed up my life. I am so happy I've decided to go celibate (Not necessarily indefinitely, more like I'd make love with someone who I have a deep connection with in future, and if that never happens that's okay too, I am happy and that's what matters to me). I used to be so lustful and addicted to thinking about sex, from a mix of hormones and unhealthy sex exposure (An unrealistic, toxic look at the world of sex through porn). In the end I started as a curiosity to test out a new lifestyle, now I really want to dedicate to it and I'm currently succeeding.

Your energy has drawn me to you and I truly needed to hear this. Although I have practiced celebacy due to distance in a relationship, it's not for the right reasons. My sensuality has been a strong part of who I am, but not everything that I am. Thank you for expanding my vision. 🙏🦋

Celibate for a year now and I have learned so much! I just don't want to waste my energy with anybody like I did before. My energy means a lot to me, during a very bad breakup I also stopped drinking. I noticed that a lot of my relationships were karmic and based on lust not love which created so much toxic energies. I am staying celibate until I find that person who I share a special connection with but I am also doing a lot of healing, inner healing and taking my time on my awakening journey! :)
