Regarding trolls, remember the old adage about avoiding wrestling with pigs (“you just get dirty and the pigs enjoy it”). Regarding the banjo, remember the old joke about the difference between a banjo and a chain saw (“the chain saw has a wider tonal range”). Please keep us informed of your next step(s) - your material and attention to detail need to be available to us! 👏

I hope this is just an April fools joke or maybe fishing for compliments, because although there are lots of reasons to not do KZbin, personal attacks shouldn’t be one of them. KZbin, and social media in general, does bring out some wackos and sociopaths, but you just need to ignore them and do your thing.

Chase Im sorry to see you go. You have enlightened more students positively than haters. Anyone hating on you is either jealous or stupid. Jack McDuff explained to me once that everyone has something to offer. You were helping so many people. Just think if they have time to hate on you they are not doing half as much as you. Ive always heard the more accomplished the musician the more humble they are. The less accomplished well you get the picture.Thank you for your time, patience and effort to move Jazz ahead.I appreciate it.

I wish you the best. I’m new to your channel but we’ve exchanged comments a few times. I actually picked up a Gold Tone AC6+ about 3 weeks ago and have been experimenting with bop and bluegrass ideas. I also have been using the one chord approach ( Holdsworth talks about this) and as you already know, it’s more common than players realize. So we have a lot in common. Stay positive. People love your approach and you play great. If you’re interested I’ll send some banjo things as I work on them.

Please don't quit. U are the only one who is able to dissect lines very well. It is on your channel I got to know how lines are even formed or created. I will try and retrieve the title of that video and let u know. We always hear jazz guys always improvising but how these lines are created have been a mystery. I am typing from Ghana in West Africa. It should tell u how your impact has been felt across the globe. Your videos are great and unique. Why do u have to quit because of Farrel who finds it difficult to get his message across. I have tried several times to follow him and make meaning out of his lesson but i have still not made any headway. Keep doing the great work. Kudos. Hope u change your mind.

Quitting this platform is a big loss to all guitar fellows willing to learn this beautiful instrument. Music is Art and should provide us with all freedom of creativity. There are always many ways to express one self. I really appreciated the ways you explained the 2 chords principle of George Benson. I also recognised it in Wes's playing. Nobody can blame you on that subject because you we right. Keep on teaching. Don't care about the noises coming from elsewhere. You're a great musician and teacher👍👍👍🙏

Chase, thanks so much for your output here I’ve been playing guitar my whole life, but I had plateaued for almost a decade. I got accepted to Berkelee but couldn’t afford the tuition and ended up getting into something else. I’ve never let go of wanting to learn jazz but I can’t read music well, and I had no resources. Your videos were the first that explained these concepts in a way that has STUCK, and in just a few months I’ve progressed so much. Your videos are so dense, and you’re so generous with the sheer amount of info and exercises you put into just one video. Because of you I’m addicted, I can’t go back to me before jazz! You have genuinely changed my life for the better with your output. There a few people that hate you very loudly (and they don’t hate you, they hate everything) and a vast amount of people who have immense respect you quietly. And for the fucking record, YOU ARE RIGHT about the secret of the 2 chords, and we know it!

Banjo & George Benson, on April 1st leaves room for hope 🎉 That being said, I have seen a youtuber start from Zero and grow up to tour numbers. It’s like kayaking UP the Niagara River. Besides that, as long as you don’t cause intentional harm, the only critique one should let affect you, is CONSTRUCTIVE critique. Some guy, calling you names, bad moutging you or calling you a “looser”, is something that you ought NEVER allow to affect you to the point of calling it quits. And that’s not only about online things, it’s my life experience. If the numbers are not yielding worth your effort, maybe you need to change something or give it more time and maybe team up with some of the ones which became successful at this youtube thing. I am convinced that you have a bright future ahead of yourself. … JD.

Hello Chase, I'm Daniel from Argentina, I'm using the translator so I hope you understand the meaning of the message...this is the starting point where you should not abandon the channel and much less the people who have trusted you and your classes that are very valuable, if you do it you will be throwing overboard everything that you built with effort, do not let others get away with it, you have plenty of talent and you have not yet started to use it, it says that the boat does not advance if it does not have the resistance of water and the bird if it does not have the resistance of air, then let the haters be that resistance but how would you move forward? , don't disappoint the people who are anxiously waiting every day for your classes on this beautiful channel... everyone who reads this comment, let's share this channel and make it grow so Chase moves forward... all this is growth and change and many times growth is painful but then you see the fruits of our work....endurance Chase, endurance Argentina, endurance Messi...God bless you friend I send you a hug! !!

All I can say, is your KZbin channel is great! And has educated a lot of people to a higher level of playing because of your devotion to this channel! Don’t worry what anybody says about you, words are only words. keep that spiritual shield up and don’t let them affect you in any way, shape or form, because what you offer, is far greater than what these jealous , evil minded people doing. There’s so much in your videos, and I can’t even imagine how much more you have to offer. This is why I am really shocked by watching this and hope that you reconsider. With your ability, I am sure you will do amazing things with the banjo and I am happy for you for it. the amount of people you’re reaching now is amazing and everybody that comes here wants to be here to learn from you. Hi Chase, if this were true it would be a real loss as your chanel is extremely helpful. However, in line with some of the comments and based on the date of this posting (April 1st), I would suggest that you take your pursuit of the secret one chord further. As you note the one chord approach is 50% better than the secret 2 chord approach, I therefore suggest that you pursue the one note approach. It would be 200% better than even the one chord approach (assuming that you do not include extensions, where the benefit would be even greater). As a bass player, I am used to pedal notes using a single note over different chords, perhaps you can help with applying this to the guitar (or Banjo 😂). It would also be very much in line with Jobim's classic song on the subject ("This is just a little samba. Built upon a single note"). Cheers! 🤣🤣🤣

Hey Chase - you probably should not have dropped this vid on April Fools Day but if it is not a joke, you should seriously reconsider your decision. You are a positive force on YT and have great things to contribute to the jazz guitar community.. If there are other musicians and people that have an issue with your approach, , so be it. Critics are only projecting and projection is not reality.. What you do it real. I do hope you reconsider. even though KZbin is not an ideal forum.
