i was just read a book of "how to changed forever" and the author said that if we want to change drastically we need a kick such as new year, birthday, or moveout (which work 80% more than the other one). Everyone want to changes for better but they can't keep it up because they tend to get back to the bubble. Just keep in mind that she can come to visit the bubble every other day when the world become too crazy to handle with.

i moved into my own place after living with roommates for the last ten years and it's definitely a crazy switch but was so needed (even though you're just going to like a one roommate situation not totally alone) something i think youll benefit from is your stuff stops being confined to your room, you have more space to fill on your own and it makes you feel less like a hoarder and more like the items you have are intentional and with your stuff more spread out it's more manageable and you're right it's totally easier to keep clean!! good luck yvonnie this is going to be so good for you + your growth!

The thing I do to avoid having too much stuff is getting rid/donate/remove items every time I buy ones that are on the same category. If I buy new shoes, you should get rid the one you think the less frequent one. If you think you want to use all of them then decide which of those you don't like anymore or like less than other

My rule for getting rid of stuff is that if I havent used it in the last year, and its not for a specific rainy day kinda thing, I get rid of it. Try one section at a time!! you can do it. Much easier once everything is unpacked. also make sure you can SEE your stuff. if you tuck it away in a box somewhere or in the back of your closet then you'll forget it even exists. Make sure the stuff you wanna use is front and centre so you don't forget about it (:

It's difficult to be completely minimalist, especially if you have a bunch of stuff already. I think the "middle-ist" approach is probably best in general, I know my place would feel more like a home if I had a less minimalist situation. Anyway, I hope for the best for you Yvonne and I completely understand feeling the need to go "out on your own" (even if you have one normie roomie) to feel more self-fulfilled and to help grow into the type of person/creator you want to be.
