I moved to Clovis, CA in early 2019 due to my new career and first job assignment in Fresno, CA. In less than 8 months my plan is to move back home due to eligibility for transfer (I'm not stating my home state because I don't want Californians to move there). Anyway, I have gotten to know the richest of the rich and very powerful people in Central Valley California and have had to deal with the poorest of the poor, criminal, middle class, wealthy, etc. I'm so glad to leave this place and will not miss it at all. The most despicable people I have ever met are the people in Clovis, CA who think they're better than everyone. I will gladly let them enjoy the bad water, poor air quality, crime, homeless, etc. Anyone who thinks moving to Fresno is a great idea to raise a family or start a good life is kidding themselves.

I appreciate you sharing your experience DeeJay and truly am sorry you've been having a hard time. Although, it sounds like you're taking action and doing something about it and will likely have much higher appreciation of your home state when you return! In my opinion, your last statement was a bit extreme and generalized. Everyone's experiences, goals, perceptions, and viewpoints are different. Therefore, people similar to you would have a harder time finding the Fresno area as a great area to raise a family or start a good life, while people like my family and I thrive from it. I know both Fresno and Clovis are not perfect by any means, but they provide many people, myself included, with everything I need to feel happy and fulfilled. Neither is right or wrong, just different. Again, I truly am thankful for you watching and sharing your account and wish you the best in your return!

Have I met good people? Yes. Have I met bad people? Certainly. If there is one thing that separates the people of Fresno from Clovis, it's that the people of Fresno are more honest with how their city is and don't think they're better than anyone.

I relocated to Fresno from Long Beach as well in 1992 I would never move back to Southern California. I’m here to stay because I’m living a good 😊 life here. My rent was a 1000 back in the 90’s came here and noticed how slow it was and the low cost of living and loved 🥰 it.

I love your prospective, i am from the bay and moved to fresno as a option, i purchased a home in NW, raised kids, i think folks as they are priced out of LA and the bay are looking at fresno as a option.

I live in Fresno now I had a hard time settling in the city, because I was raised in the better part of the 559 I grew up out in the country fifteen minutes from interstate five it was so quiet you could hear the crickets the machines during the tomato season and cotton season you could leave your door open at night to let the air through the house it was so peaceful. Then my mom had the greatest idea of buying a house during the time when the housing market was so low she got a three bedroom home with a pool for just about 80k we moved here my mom me and my brother I suffered from insomnia my dad stayed out in the ranch in firebaugh man I miss the countryside you could see the stars at night the neighboring ranch would always host drag races on the long strip of road on fairfax. I miss those days. Fresno sucks.

Thanks for sharing! The city is definitely not everyone. I love the peaceful, rural living as well and would rather have a tiny house with lots of land so my pups can run free but I'm personally very happy with Fresno and don't see myself making that switch anytime soon. Have you thought about moving back out by your dad?
