I'm from Montenegro, and I don't care if you are black or white, it's more important if you are polite and a nice person.

I am from the U.S. and recently bought an apartment in Budva outside the city. I chose Montenegro because the people have gone above and beyond for me. I have been nicknamed "Queen" and "Mother Earth". People stare at my fro, and want to take photos, but I find it flattering. Real estate is not cheap; renting is more affordable. I feel very safe in Montenegro. Serious crime is almost non-existent. It is definitely a break from the violence and divisiveness in the USA.

It appears we are neighbors, as my family lives on the other side of the river, right across your apartment. I am an expat from US, feel free to reach out if you'd like to connect. I moved back to Montenegro in 2016, and I love it here as well.

I feel so bad that you had to turn off comments on several of your videos. As usual a woman, especially a woman of color, can’t give her honest thoughts without criticism. This is YOUR channel and these candid thoughts are very interesting and helpful to me. Maybe some people should realize that every thing is not for them. If you can’t take a KZbinrs honest opinions, there are lots of other channels. Great job on all of your videos.

Hi Basilia, thank you for sharing your experiences in Montenegro! It’s engaging and compact with useful info. Your highlights on the kindness of the people and their curiosity towards people of color got me wondering, are there many asians there and how would they regard asians? I’m Southeast asian and am curious about societies that are more open to diversity.

Hi Ina, thanks for watching my videos and for your kind compliments. To answer your question, in the capital city of Podgorica I've only seen Asians in the asian restaurants (Chinese)/construction so I assume they're not very many living here. Maybe the case might be a bit different on the coast due to a growing expat community there, I can't say for sure. However, during tourist season there are more Asians travelling around the country and I think Montenegrins are quite open to diversity. I hope this helps.

Hi Basilia, thanks for making this video, really appreciate. I've been researching about easy ways to relocate from Nigeria and Montenegro sounds good from how you've described it. I've binged watched from this channel other videos about Montenegro and I'm thinking of starting the process. I'd like to know more about the process of applying for the visa and documents to prepare. If you'd want me to book a consultation, I'd be glad to so I can discuss in details with you. Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Princess, thanks for watching my videos and for finding my content useful for you. With regards to relocating to Montenegro from Nigeria, I think the main path could be via company formation. However, the main downside is that the process can become quite cost intensive especially for nationals of third world countries. Kindly send me an email at fivefootnomad@gmail.com to learn more.

Relocation for Nigerians to Montenegro is likely via company formation which can be done by an accountant. However, the process is quite cost intensive but if one has the resources, it is possible

I really enjoyed your video! Very helpful!I However, I would have to disagree in regards to what you mentioned about your idea of the black American perspective in foreign countries. It’s not about stereotypes. You make it sound like it’s trauma for a white person to look or touch a black American. It’s not that at all. It’s literally about personal space. Americans ( no matter the race) are not about people coming up in our personal space to touch us. That’s not our culture unless we are friends or we are both flirting . I know in many other cultures touching is the norm. The boundaries of personal space are kind of blurred. & I think that has to do with what you mentioned about the warmness of a culture. However, for many Americans it’s very strange for a stranger to come up to us and touch our body or hair without asking. The stares may get annoying, but I’m sure they ignore them because there wouldn’t be many black Americans living & very happy in Asia or Europe if it bothered them that much. I hoped that help. Cheers & happy living in Montenegro! 🇲🇪

Hi Alex, I'm glad you enjoyed watching the video. I'm African and I have very limited knowledge about Black American or American culture in general. So thanks for clarifying the idea of "personal space" and showing a different perspective, I've learned something new!
