Perhaps the question should be why wouldn't you move there. If you have the means and you can it looks like paradise. Sardinia seems to fly under the radar but there are thousands of reasons to go, culture, history, food, climate, people. A completely different and tranquil way of life rooted in ancient history.

They speak Italian here. It falls under Italian law. However, there are sardo dialects in every little town. It seems that when people are amongst family and friends, they will mix italian and sardo but when it comes to business etc, it's all in italian. The sardo dialect here (of which there are many) is really beautiful but it's a whole other language so my chances of learning may be on the low side... but I will try :)

@@Rob-yu1lw the cost of living is tough all throughout the world for many people but to compare Australia and Italy..... Italy is encouraging people from around the world to move there with cheap housing incentives. Yes they need a lot of work but in a lot of Australia you can't even get a block of land for under $250,000. If you wanted a house in one of our cities you are looking at over one million dollars. I could sell my modest house in Brisbane and easily afford a beautiful house by the sea in most places along the Italian coastline and still have plenty of money spare to use as a retirement fund. Real estate prices in Australia are insane. Now with cost of living. Families in Australia are saying that household incomes of $200,00 are not enough to cover expenses. So I can see why Australians are selling up and moving overseas to make their money stretch further. I'm hoping to do it myself soon.
