The point of this video was to tell my story. My story isn't yours. You should absolutely aspire to be as successful as possible, and work as hard as you can to achieve those goals. If that happens to be becoming a pro, go for it. That should never change. My decisions were based on my situation at the time, and I felt was the best move for myself moving forward. Was that the right call, I think so, but that's life, it's all about the choices you make. My advice is definitely to chase your dreams, but do so with hard work, dedication and a level of self awareness. Take chances in life, but also be fairly certain that the odds are in your favor. That's the way I see life and how I go about making the decisions that I make. Thanks for watching.

Hey Josh, you're bang on about how things are in Canada. I actually had a somewhat similar soccer career growing up (although I grew up in Saskatchewan, where ,of course, there's even less opportunity than Ontario). You can be the best player in the whole top league of your province and never get looked at by any sort of pro club. scouts just seem to not be as much of a thing, and of course it's increasing every day, but we're still miles behind other countries.
@mikec56197 жыл бұрын
Josh, you should post videos of you playing on your Adult league. You have excellent shooting, but would be nice to see you playing in an actual game. Maybe you can mix game play and boot reviews together.
@Soccerreviewsforyou7 жыл бұрын
The issue with posting game footage is getting permission from every person that could potentially be on camera. With no permission, the video could get taken down and my channel put in danger. That's just not a risk I'm willing to take.

my dad told me a story once about a local player in his village who got scouted by a mexican soccer team ...Pumas he went on and played 2 professional games in wich he scored a total of 5 goals against 2 big clubs, long story short he wasnt praised and got over looked , the club let him go because he couldnt afford to fund himself for his camps and trips, it usually not the players fault at most cases , it could be some sort of politics or favoritism perhaps.

I grew up in Canada, there isn't enough good coaching, you had to figure out everything for yourself and by the time you do, too much time has been wasted. (20 years ago). I was probably one of the best pickup players in Toronto. The physical side of soccer really takes a lot of physical talent too, even if you have speed, can you take the hit and can you play just as well with slide tackles and playing injured are big factors. I played in NYC as well I think the players are better in USA.

Shout out from Hamilton Ontario man. I was born in Jamaica, but I grew up in Canada and still reside here. Canada's definitely not a football country and it's sad, we love hockey and ignore everything else pretty much.Hopefully sometime in the near future they decide to invest more in football and kids that love football. Still love Canada 🍁 🍁

Are you planning on reviewing the Puma 365 Ignite Netfit Indoor Shoes?

Nice background and healthy outlook; gives some context to your channel. I "rudy-ed" my way through division III college ball in the U.S. and briefly trained with a "Regionalliga" (4th dvi) team in Germany before giving in to my case of OSB and focusing on driving cars instead. I strongly suspect you're better than I was, and could have probably at least made a living playing in Europe (as even their 2nd/3rd div teams pay well enough to sustain). While I wouldn't trade the experiences for anything, in hindsight I'd have been smart to stop after highschool....several injuries avoided, and delusions of football grandeur intact :)

Ronaldo wasn't the best player in his team as a youngster. Ricardo Quaresma was far more talented than Ronaldo, and yet take a look at their careers. Ronaldo is 33,3% talent 66,6% hard work!

Same here, started young had a few offers here for some academy’s but my parents didn’t want to move states. Now I’m a engineer but soccer is what I still love to do and watch on my spare time.

It`s interesting that you talked about OYSL because I just finished my last season of rep in OYSL for U-18 and I am now off to University for soccer.

I started playing soccer when I was 8 and I just was playing with my friends outside but then I joined my first team at age 14 and now I want to dedicate to go pro

The most common route to Pro in USA/Canada is University, do well, make first team, followed by lower levels of semi-pro to pro, depending on skills. Lot's of channels around about guys in their early 20's mid 20's even making PRO for first time. But yes those guys dedicate their lives to it...and watching them get there is very cool. What is interesting is the number of PRO players who were never stand outs but simply work work work work to get there.
