Valid points! I can't justify $50/mo forever though... One work around for the PiP problem would be to make a compound clip, then add the second PiP - just like you mention in the GS section (commenting as I watch:))

Makes sense. It’s worth mentioning there are several free programs too.

When I Can Get An MacBook, I'm Gonna Use iMovie For A While, Once I'm Done With It, I Move On To More Advanced Stuff. Thanks For The Great Tips And Tricks!

The reason why I quit iMovie as well it’s because 1. There isn’t any non-animated text so I have to make my own in keynote then export it here in iMovie 2. Sometimes the exporting of the video fails

One work around for the dual picture in picture and green screen issues you have is to make a video, export it, then make another video by importing the first video. This is a bit of a pain but basically you end up layering the videos one on top of the other. Thanks for the analysis!

For sure. I mentioned that in the green screen portion, but also true for more overlay layers.

Sorry to those who have been using iMovie for years, But I'm agreeing with you Nate! After watching this, I can say this software is not worth using it even for the first time. I only use 2 software programs; the basic and discontinued, yet still easy to use Windows Movie Maker, and the advanced, complex Sony Vegas Pro 17

Hello, I agree iMovie is limited. I’m a Mac user and thinking of moving up. My question to you is why did you choose Adobe Premier vs Final Cut Pro. My thought is it should be an easier switch to iMovie’s big brother- Final Cut. Eric

I really like adobe premiere, but unfortunately I have no experience with Final Cut Pro so I would not be of much help here. Check out what others have to say comparing them. Good luck!

i am trying to do one project. just one. and I cannot. write how i want and it's annoying. it makes me disengage with anything and use the "less is more" theory. so that's how i'm doing this one. just have my timing on point with random editing with words but i can't get past this issue that says i cannot do anything to export to file until iMovie completes certain tasks but doesn't say what tasks these are. it's very annoying.

I agree so much with the text issue! Question for you, Why when I SAVE it to file, I know it turns it to a Mp4 but the first frame is black? (but not on all the movies I have done) Do you know what I mean if so how do i fix that? Maybe that is not the right way to export and put it up onto like Instagram or other platform?

I own Final Cut Pro but still use iMovie. Reasons? a. file size gets huge and need a lot of space to make videos with it. b.I know iMovie better. c. Look forward to using Final Cut Pro. which would make filmmaking much easier.

Im just starting today in making a video, so Im going to use what I have, imovie. Premiere is way too advanced for a beginner.

Humans humans humans, don't you just like it when we get to a certain stage in life and start complaining about the very things we used to make excuses for and let fly. You paid for Premier pro and still you ain't blown up on youtube. It's not about the gear, it's more of your skills.

I use premiere for work. Also I have another channel with 140K subscribers. WASD20
