Journalist and bestselling author Hank Philippi Ryan reveals her secret: she often reads the last pages of books first. But, she says, understanding why she needed to know the end taught her how to embrace serendipity--and that changed her writing career and her life. Hank is the on-air investigative reporter for Boston's WHDH-TV, winning 36 Emmy and 14 Edward R. Murrow awards. A nationally bestselling author of 11 novels of suspense, Hank's won five Agathas, three Anthonys, and the Mary Higgins Clark Award. Hank's newest thriller is "The Murder List", and it's nominated for both an Agatha Award and the Mary Higgins Clark Award. Critics call her "a master of suspense." Hank is an on-air investigative reporter for Boston's WHDH-TV, winning 36 Emmy and 14 Edward R. Murrow awards. A nationally bestselling author of 11 mysteries, Hank also won five Agathas, three Anthonys, and the Mary Higgins Clark Award. Hank’s 2018 Trust Me is an Agatha Nominee and her newest novel is titled The Murder List. Critics call her “a master of suspense”. I read the end to know if the story is worth reading 😂 If the end seems interesting, it's usually a good indicator the book will be. If the ending is flat or "blah" so then is probably the story 🤷🏾‍♂️

I was a loner and bookish in my youth. And while I have not had hundreds of "friends" in my social group, it has been an advantage to be individual and not always "going with the flow". I now have a loving family and grandchildren and feel my life has been a positive, worthwhile even a wonderful experience.

Wow I am LeighAnn Britner and I reside in Massachusetts and I complained about a surgical procedure and I got the letter to correct the surgery. I had enough of it. I am stuck on a police dispatch in Boston. Also the LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has also helped me with a micro radio chip in my ears. I benefit from living in California not here in Boston Variating people.

I research book, movie, and musical theater endings. If a beloved character or animal dies, I don't spend anymore time on it. I had 18 aunts and uncles, three older siblings, countless cousins. My mother is gone, two of my siblings died within 4 months of each other; all my aunts and uncles are gone. Most of the cousins I grew up with have also passed. Family pets are mostly long ago buried. I'm taking a little break from that kind of heartache. Life will provide that all on its own.

Just started the video but I'm relieved other people do this. I've been doing this since elementary school. I start with the word, then half way through the book I read the last sentence, the 3/4 of the way through I read the last paragraph. With movies, I like the read the plot on wiki. Personally, I just want to know what happens bc there's too much suspense in movies and it gives me too much anxiety.

I used to do this with every book when I was a child... Sometimes I was just curious, but mostly I read the last page when the suspense is so high that I can't stand it and I just have to see the name of the character in danger on the end of the book, then I'm okay again :D It doesn't have to do anything with control I just can't stand the suspense... Same for tv series, if someone is in danger I would google the character to see if they are still alive xD

If you listen to music in English it will help your accent. I listen to Disney songs in Spanish with the lyrics, and that has helped my accent and my vocabulary a lot. Aside from that, Duolingo is a good app, or Babbel. Good luck, and if you need help, just let know!

1 In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. 2 Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 3 The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 4 Master of the Day of Judgment. 5 It is You we worship, and upon You we call for help. 6 Guide us to the straight path. 7 The path of those You have blessed, not of those against whom there is anger, nor of those who are misguided. ___________________________ In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. 1 Read: In the Name of your Lord who created. 2 Created man from a clot. 3 Read: And your Lord is the Most Generous. 4 He who taught by the pen. 5 Taught man what he never knew. 6 In fact, man oversteps all bounds. 7 When he considers himself exempt. 8 But to your Lord is the return. 9 Have you seen him who prevents? 10 A servant when he prays? 11 Do you think he is upon guidance? 12 Or advocates righteousness? 13 Do you see how he disbelieved and turned away? 14 Does he not know that Allah sees? 15 No. If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock. 16 A deceitful, sinful forelock. 17 Let him call on his gang. 18 We will call the Guards. 19 No, do not obey him; but kneel down, and come near.

I'm sorry but I find this such an empty TED talk. Also, how is the last page necessarily going to reveal the ending to you? It's pretty rare that endings are neatly tied up, waiting for you in the very last page. Stories can have abstract endings (or reveal the real ending somewhere in the middle). Life is hard, but the surprises are what keeps things interesting. To attempt to control or plan for every aspect of your life is just strange.
