You have to consider the type of tire you are using also!! All Season or Highway Tires ride just fine on 20” wheels. However, an All Terrain or Mud Tire is always going to ride rougher because it is thicker rubber. To compensate you would definitely want to run a smaller rim to get back ride quality. However, then you may experience more squishy handling. Also, LT rated tires are going to be heavier and rougher riding than an SL tire. Keep that in mind. 👍 Im considering dropping from 20” to 17” on my F-150 2020 with an SL All Terran tire.

I had 18 inch wheels on BF good rich all-terrain's, and I moved up to the Chevy stock 20 rims but with a Goodyear Tires that were meant for highway and it rides like butter. I feel a little bit more weight, but not really noticeable and the truck glides further now without me, having to press the gas as much.

If you dont tow with your truck.. I recommend removing the overload leaf out of the leaf pack in the rear. Your truck will sit level and soften the rear suspension and significantly reduce bucking that single cabs tend to do. Also relocating your battery to the rear just behind the passenger cab will make a huge difference.. not only are you adding roughly 60lbs to the rear, you're also removing it from the front giving it the same effect as adding 120 lbs the rear.

I picked up 17 Inch OEM rims for my Ram 1500.. they're a inch smaller than my grand cherokee rims.. I can already tell with the tire tread it's gon look great

I "downgraded" to 17's from 20's as well on my explorer. Much happier with them overall. Does it look as sharp. Debatable. But it rides better and can take a curb without care now. And it looks sweet with the offset pushing the wheels out a hair from the wheel wells. Looks like something a drug lord would bulletproof and take out to make collections with my brush guard and charcoal paint color. Lolz

Bro I totally get ya! Just let go of my 22's with 37" tires...it was kinda heart breaking cause they look dope on my excursion with 6" lift. Went to 17's with 35" tires. 100% much better ride. Handling is alot more responsive. Better mpg. O and no more rubbing. Yo sick rig homie!! Definitely smarter move going with 17's.

Depends on the truck I believe, regular cab short beds aren't the greatest when it comes to ride quality so naturally it would ride like shit with bigger wheels. Currently have some Toyo AT3's wrapped around 20x10 method off-road wheels on my 21 GMC and the ride quality is still smooth like factory maybe even better even with a cheap 6 inch zone lift kit.

i did not like the 20's at all, i have videos where i talk about that and why. Get 17's or 18's, if your truck is built to pull 20's then your fine to do so. Having factory wheels is great as well just add the off-roading tires and it will look great.

Technically you could get 20in tires with a 70mm sidewall length so 285 70 20 is the same as 285 70 17 ride would be pretty close just wheel would be heavier on 20s and you would need a lift to not rub the problem is these dam rubberband size tires on big rims with no sidewall you get shit ride

Those sizes are small for off-road you will have a lot of space if the truck is lifted I have the size 285-70-17 which is a 33” you can put a 275-70-17 which is a 31” without a leveling lift but if you have it leveled like mine the biggest you can go is 285 which is a 33” and you might rub on the inside when you make shark turns, I currently went up to 34’s and I run just on sharp turns

Ivan Pacheco it’s a 2020 Ford Ranger FX4. It’s all stock and I’d prefer to keep it that form and I am after the pizza cutter tire look. Tall and skinny is the goal, on stick rims of course. It currently has 265/65/17 stock.

Well 17' wheels are basically extinct now, all lift kits include the knuckle which only allow for big 20' donk wheels. I wish I could use 17' on my truck with some meaty tires but unfortunately I cant find a way to do so. :((

everything stock, on gear 3.08 engine is 5.3 i even checked in with shops and mechanics, in order for me to keep moving 20's i have to upgrade gears to not waist gas or feel heavy
