Nice video. Lovely bike, a Gentleman's sports bike. I'm getting mine back on the road, just renewing some fuel hoses. Greetings from Lowestoft UK

In 1986 a buddy bought his brand new from our local dealer and I loved the look and stock sound. He laid it down pulling a wheelie, repainted it white pearl with gold emblems and added supertrapps. I was in high school in gym class outside and we could only hear what we thought was a done up v8 car/truck rippin up the road. Surprised us all when our friend rode up on his freshly painted bike and new exhaust! The supertrapps put it over the top for me, forever that V8 nascar sound etched into my memory. It is true people will turn their heads to look for a vehicle before seeing the VFR, then keep gawking in disbelief as you ride past! I knew I had to have one, fast forward to 2000ish I finally bought a clean 1986. First mod was dual supertrapps. My bro n law bought a 98, rode his bike and it seemed so responsive yet refined and silky compared to the 86 750 carbed. Life and kids, we both sold our Viffers around the same time. Mine went to a very close bud with a gentleman's agreement. Still rode harley, ktm but sadly missed the VFR, so 2013ish I buy #2 86 VFR not as nice as #1 with a gross copper 90's cbr color paint job, but all original otherwise. Enter kid #2, #2 VFR redo goes on hold for a while. Was still kickin myself for selling #1. Now current day, May 2020... I just put 100 kms on my original #1! Yeah last week I bought my original #1 VFR back from my bud per our agreement. I'm now thinking of looking for a third and making a VFR specific vid series working on them and riding them if there's any interest. Cheers great video.

Awesome! I also had a buddy back in 86 with a new VFR. He sold his 1984, to buy an 86 white with white wheels VFR 700! Thank you so much for watching!👍🤘 I'm glad that you could get your original bike back!

You may try looking at the VFR upside down, a 916 is a Honda VFR and the V4 Panigale is too, as is a RC30/45. With out the Honda what would the Italians copy? This was a gift from Mr. Honda to the motorcycling world, a Swiss army knife to carve up roads, tracks and to google over. I like the pearled two stage paint, the metallic silver on the bits and oh the reliability. I'm on my 2nd 750 and even had a ok gen 6 vtec bike. Thanks

motomattman is 100% correct. I ran into one last year on my ZX10, and at first I thought it was a Ducatti. Great bike, easy to ride fast if you want to.
@triumphrider97965 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's a sweet exhaust note! What's not to like? I have similar reasons regarding my Daytona (also a '97); it also has a single-sided swingarm, but no centerstand, had to buy a paddock stand (Triumph did make a good one at least) and a 45mm socket to remove the rear wheel. Bike choices are very personal things, but sometimes you have to wonder; I knew a guy who had an RC51, apparently he thought it was more than he wanted so he sold it and bought a Buell. Seemed an odd choice to me, but he's the one riding it.

Yes, it was a detuned VFR engine. The still make a VFR, but good luck finding one in a dealership. No one keeps them in stock. The newer VFRs are definitely a touring bike and now are 1200 cc.

Yesterday I had the comment: This bike is pretty new, right?? I ride a '94 VFR som....no, I told the guy that it is almost 25 years old....I dont think he knows much about bikes, as he did not recognize it, but it's a testament to the design of the VFR.
@motomattman18785 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Even people that know about bikes don't always know what they are. It's also a testament to their design that there are so many 20 year old plus VFRs still on the road!

I wish the seat was more like a more modern sportbike and that parts were easier to come by. It really is a terrific bike. Back in the late 80's through the 90's I really doubted that the VFR was as good as the magazines said they were. I thought all the mags were just Honda fanboys, but now the more that I ride this bike the more I like it. Don't get me wrong, I love my other bikes and there definitely bikes that I lust after, but this is a great all around bike. It isn't the best at anything, but is really good at a lot of things.
