Cars and trucks are littered with regulation put on by our wonderful government. Safety requirements, Emission requirements get stricter and stricter as time goes on. This directly and dramatically affects the cost of the vehicle. Here's something that I hope will be of interest: I bought a 2019 370Z with the sport pkg and the 6MT in magnetic black when it was new in November of 2018. I paid about $33K for it, $20K down and financed the rest at a low interest rate for 36 months. The upgrades I've done are: StopTech stainless steel braided brake lines, stiffer Hotchkis anti-roll bars, Litespeed forged magnesium monoblock wheels(painted gloss black), aluminum lug nuts, Stillen Gen 3 long-tube cold air intake, Fast Intentions dual x-pipe cat back exhaust, Ecutek dyno tune done by Seb at Specialty Z in Simi Valley, CA on his Dynojet chassis dyno, a 3-stage paint correction and an Opticoat Pro+ ceramic coating done by OC Detailing in Fremont, CA. Next up will be a brake job with lightweight two-piece aluminum hat rotors and some G-Loc GS-1 performance brake pads and some Motul RBF 600 fluid. The results are that the engine is putting out about 390 peak crankshaft horsepower with about 310 ft*lbs of torque, the torque being nearly flat across the whole rev range. My car was nearly 200 lbs lighter than the new Z before I did anything to it. I have since taken off about 120 lbs - almost 60 of it being unsprung rotational mass, including lightweight Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The car accelerates, brakes and handles significantly better than it did stock and I would estimate that it is close to a Porsche 911 Carrera S in handling and performance. The car has a very kind of sinister and muscular look and often turns heads and gets nice compliments. All of this was done for considerably less that what I would have had to pay for a new Z. Interestingly, I have gotten offers from 3 Nissan dealers in the SF bay area, where I live, to buy my car back, usually after I've visited their service or parts departments. If anybody is interested in seeing what my car looked like after it had been polished and coated and just before I picked it up there is a KZbin video that OC Detailing made on my car: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5i0p2qLmbBqfZo

The production numbers for the Z are still quite low. I think they've built less than 3000 of them in 2 years of production. If this continues it will be tough for the prices of aftermarket parts to go down. I don't think Nissan ever intended to build as many of these as they did the prior generations. This is like a limited production send-off to the internal combustion-powered Z car. They intentionally styled it as an amalgamation of all the prior generations. 240z front end, 300zx taillights. There is a lot of Z31 300zx in the side profile, ground effects, and metal/silver swooping line down the side. Obviously it can't get away from the 370z roofline and glass, so the resemblance is unavoidable. I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy this car as a cost-effective tuning platform. Buy it if you really love Z cars and want to own what will probably become a piece of history. If you're willing to invest a few grand you can make it stupid fast, but there are cheaper, more common platforms for that.

I hope you keep tabs on the car and consider picking up your z again if the finances permit it cause i think it'll be pretty cool to have that kind of throw back in the future

Bro I’ve been wondering why your not on fitment industries videos anymore I’m so glad I found this
@operatorblack24 күн бұрын
I’m 40 seconds into the video, and I must say, the story connecting the new Z to your first car is really cool, and I also must say I have a similar story myself, and I was also let down by the car company who I bought my first car from. Very sad. We don’t live in the golden era of auto manufacturers anymore! They’re all about bottom line and don’t care about the end user anymore.
@kurtdzinich61292 ай бұрын
good video, first time watcher. I think you have a good plan and made the right decision to let the large payment go. Wishing you all the best and more success and will watch your vids, Cheers! My first car was a 1976 Datsun 280Z, it was 10 years old, which seemed ancient back then, ridiculous. Currently have WRX for all weather use instead of nice sports car that sits in my garage all winter.

My take is that the price really influences the expectations. If the sport trim started in the 30s and the performance was 40s, I think it would be an awesome option. But since you’re closer to 60k otd, it’s just not a reasonable option new.

Cars are pretty much only for the rich these days. Im really waiting for the breaking point. In a way its greedy automakers. But also the demands of customers and governments and competition keeps adding new things and rasing prices. But unrelated its buying power is in the gutter. I dont see how its sustainable. I understand why more and more people are anti car and want alternatives. Even a econmy car payments, insurance, and maintenance is just back breaking.

The Nissan Z, at least from what I've seen, had all this hype and after it came out I stopped hearing everyone talk about it. I could be wrong, but it just seemed like it came out, people weren't really impressed, and few people cared about it anymore.

Hey choosing to hire friends than keeping a car shows heart and love towards your friendships, no car is worth more than life long friendships. Cars will come and go, good for u man following all of u from fitment industry days. doing the right thing matters, in this case u did the right thing. ❤

I ever have I ever driven a Nissan? Yes, I have. I'm no person that has a KZbin channel. But Nissan's are not a bad car. They're not a great car. They're are good cars. Nothing is perfect. Some things on these people that test drive cars or have high expectations and again. I am no can block, but I can drive cars. There are things we could do with cars. Yes, modifications. Away from the factory, but yes, factory could have done better. Unfortunately, yes, the factory is trying to get around emissions and make good cars cause companies do make good cars. The companies that make good cars. Unfortunately, have to buy by laws, but unfortunately yes, I think it is a good car. There are problems. Yes, people don't like automatic specter. Things that automatically do in vice versa. Manuals could do that. Vice versa that automatically do and people don't have the skills. At least some people don't have the skills to do. What a manual does compare to a computer but yes, no, I'm not a big fan of computers. I do like bear bones muscle cars just like back in the day of barebones, Japanese cars, you know. Stick shift, learn. That's a slide a car, but again too many things about hating. Nissan habid hating cars, but Nissan is a good. Yes, they could apply spent a billion $, but they played didn't want to to make a car and use parts from previo. Use parts in your bed. And so it's still a good car and if you're just going to sell your car, it's like you respond to say, to someone, then don't have a KZbin channel. You know, buy cars. Keep them use them. Make some good comments about cars. Don't trash cars so much that you have a high expectations. But I'm just some amateur guy that drives cars and. That's all I see. Is people posting videos cars suck? Blah? Blah blah. It's not a bad car Nissan if I could ever get an old 1 2 40 z in it's not a bad car. There's things you could do with that. Make it fast and if you're not into going faster, it's not a curves. They have depends on what you use it for but Nissan is a good car. I do like these videos. Just trying out the bash cards a lot.

Own a 1990 z32 NA and love it and was excited about the new Z, but after driving it and comparing it to a C8 Corvette - C8 is now in the garage, bought slightly used (8k miles) but same price point as the Z. And yes, I stilll own the z32.

If I was you, I would have sold every other pos car you have and kept the Z. With different sets of wheels/tires, the Z can drift, time attack, and daily drive all at once. All your other cars are lame. I apologize, but I am not remorseful.

Never again will I own a car that’s more than $600/month. The bank says I can “afford” a car that’s $2,200 a month/$120,000. But nooooo thanks. Ima stick with my paid off cars. My 50/50/25 rule of 50% down. 50% financed. 25% saved for repairs/mods/after purchase care.

I don’t think the aftermarket is there, also the price point is ridiculous. The Z line is suppose to be an affordable sports car, if they wanted to make it so expensive should’ve made an infinity variant, also no LSD in the base model for nearly 50k is insane. Should’ve got the gr86 and built it

@GalvatronTypeR6 ай бұрын
The “new” Z is one of the most disappointing sports car releases ever. It is a 2003 chassis carrying a 2014 drivetrain with a copy/paste interior from 2009. It was already old, obsolete and outdated even prior to its debut. Everything about that car scream begrudging and unenthusiastic because Nissan devoted no budget to it, scraped parts out of its recycle bin to build it, and released it as cheaply as possible. The car has not won one single comparison it has been in, the Civic Type R, the Integra Type S and GR Corolla are much better more exciting cars. The “new” Z is totally irrelevant and cannot run with other cars in its competitive set. I wonder why you needed an allocation for it, it is not in demand, the car does not sell well, it is sitting on dealer lots gathering dust and priced below MSRP.

Just started the wijeo (shoutout Uncle Roger), but i'm willing to bet that he just realized it was a reskinned q60 red sport with the same old manual from before and was completely underwhelmed, lol.. Edit: I was partially correct.. definitely underwhelmed.. Was expecting something more than what Nissan offered up... but Nissan had to pinch pennies and work with what they had in the parts bin.. Bottom line, the juice (feelings from the car) wasn't worth the squeeze ($900/mo)..

why did you buy 1 in the first place? probably would have been best to decline the offer...then walk when they gave you the price. I can think of better cars to build the brand around....
