Paul. In my feed of photographers I follow you are standing out. Why? Because you come from deep in the heart, you’re very organic, simple, and uninfluenced by commercialism. You’re not about chasing gear, sponsorships, and ad revenue. Of course I understand that makes things difficult financially breaking from the heard, and that respect I admire you and you’re work. Keep it up brother. Keep it coming from the heart. Bravo

Hey Paul - it's so cool, the way you take us for the journey, we watch you scout and then take the image. Then you offer it as a unique one-off print. I can't think of any other KZbinrs who do that. Great stuff!

@@PaulCSmithPhotographer Ans’s images are important slices of NZ history. I can imagine how you felt when she contacted you. What an honour. When/if we get back to NZ on our next campervan journey, stopping at the gallery will be a priority.

Awesome video Paul, thank you for sharing your passion on YT. I'm happy your not another Thomas Heaton hahahahaha. Love Thomas but one is enough. Love your vibe and your thinking about showing your work. I'm also working on it for the past 3 years, not an easy road it's hard work and does not always pay off. Well done mate.

Great Video Paul, It always inspires me how you get wonderful images of NZ 02:01 Ans Westra, had and influence on you like Andris Apse affected me! congratulations on finding your mode, which is not the Thomas Heaton of NZ, to be honest we have a better canvas! but not as many followers ! That walk thru is great!, my F=dad used to milk in a more modern shed and that was in the 60s

Taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary is a gift and talent many photographers and artists would love to have. So often we overlook a simple object, only to find that it has a story to tell. You have the very happy knack of seeing the ordinary in a different light, well done as always. By pure happenstance we have an old milking shed approx. thirty meters from the back of our house, built in the 1940's it now been enclosed and doing duty as storage shed for timber off the farm here, but it looked exactly the same as the shed in your images, so now I have to go and take some photos of it 😁 Cant wait to see what you come up with next.

I've always associated your work with greens and blues. Subject matter. Colour grading. Dunno. Fascinating to see where you crop as well, what you leave out of a picture. I guess back in the day your exposure would have consisted of a couple of prints on the shelf of your local dairy. Now you're global. Cool 👌

Brilliant Paul as always. nice work re Ans I have one of her books incredible talent. Funnily enough my next wee vid is an intro to another incredible kiwi shooter you’ll definitely know his work. You tube for me started as a distraction from a marriage break up needed to throw myself into something I enjoyed strange thing is 4 or 5 years on it’s become a bit of an obsession so in a way I’m happy my ex Got shut of me every cloud and that 😂😂 I recall the first vid of yours I watched it hit me how authentic your work was I blame you for inspiring me to get back into film photography and for me that’s the power of KZbin I’m never gonna go viral but if I inspire one person like you inspired me then I’ll take that everyday.

You’ve got a great channel here mate. Honest, down to earth and no nonsense content. You and Marcus Lloyd are the ones I’ve been watching closely with regards to Leica. I’ve just become the owner on a Leica M9, albeit one with the sensor issue, not too terrible I might add. Still, it’s a start and I got it a great price. I’ve started a new Instagram account to post my work from my new camera and document my journey with it. Keep up the great work @myleicaodyssey
