I personally have not used it to kick mdone, but have used it to kick other things. I know many who have used it for mdone, as well. Kratom use can be very okay long-term to treat chronic pain. I tapered regularly, and would use less than necessary on days I was not needing to function for work. Agmatine also helps a bunch to keep tolerance low.

I was drinking a fifth of liquor a day,last summer. Starting taking Kratom. Got sick from mixing the two. Stopped drinking alcohol. Got to about 15 grams in the morning and 15 grams in the evening. Got sick without the Kratom. Decided to stop taking Kratom cold turkey and got sick for about 3 days straight and finished off the week pretty sluggish. 7 months clean from drowning myself in liquor, 2 years cigarette free, and 2 weeks without Kratom.. That being said, I would like to say that the Kratom journey was worth it (withdrawal included), and probably saved my life!

I was a hardcore binge drinker. I quit by going to rehab and use Kratom when i get the craving for a drink. Keeping the doses low but high enough to get the opiate-like effects gives me that feeling I sought from a fifth of vodka. So much safer and doesn't make one act stupid and crazy like alcohol does. Still finding a happy medium with it, but I'm glad I discovered kratom definitely. It deserves to be legal and it should be respected for its potency.

Exact same story as mine. 18-31 severe party alcoholic. Then kratom for 4 years straight. I’m so over feeling numb and losing my hair and libido. So I’m on day two of no ktm right now and the restless legs is the worse cuz I can’t sleep but I started taking nootropics to help support brain repair-dopamine, seratonin, and GABA balancing. So the withdrawals haven’t been so bad because of them

@@Kimzielynn taper slowly. Say if you have 3 teaspoons a day, cut one of those doses in half so you have 2 1/2 teaspoons the next couple days. Then have a few days of 2 teaspoons. Then continue until you are no longer using it. Tapering gets rid of most withdrawal effects. I was on 3 teaspoons a day and down to 2 so far in 2 days.gonna take a break to lower tolerance, and then only use it when really stressed or have an alcohol craving.

It is a medecine to quit drugs and alcool. If you use it for other stuffs it is not going to work. It actually can mess you up if not use for the right pathology. You can't not know what you'r doing when it comes to natural medecine, it's not because it's natural that you don't have to study it before using it.

I took away 1 pill a day from one of my doses. I went from 40 grams a day and now I’m down to 6. I’ll be done pretty soon. The only symptoms ive noticed is a little bit of muscle aches and I’m a little tired. But it hasn’t been bad at all. I recommend trying it out.

Matt Ruiz Photo Can you link to the study? All drugs of addiction don’t necessarily light up the same parts of the brain in the same way. The addictive pathways might be different than other opioids. (It is a unique substance.) Plus beyond the positive “reward” aspects of addiction there are negative aspects that promote substance use due to withdrawals. RLS, stomach discomfort, explosive diarrhea, etc. Not discounting the point. I’d need to check out the study. I’d be really interested to read it. Thanks!

Coming from someone who was addicted to heroin and methadone for 15 years, the withdrawals from kratom are nothing. A walk in the park, I'd take having no energy any day compared to that. I've taken kratom daily for over a year and have never had to up my dose. In my case it keeps me away from the harder shit and I'm not playing Russian roulette with my life multiple times a day. Good, it's the lesser of two evils for you. But try not consuming kratom, and see how your life goes. You are now dependent on kratom, and if that makes your life positive and healthy other then the dependency factor - then good for you. Some people require a medication, and if it's natural, all the better! It's ok to admit we need a medication to help us in life.

If you want to "reverse" the negative effects, benadryl will do this. Unfortunately this also means one can take Kratom over and over again and not get sick. Take Kratom, then take a few benadryl, and an hour'ish later all the bad effects caused by too much kratom will go away. Careful with the benadryl though, too much can also be extremely unpleasant for a good 10 to 30 minutes. Fortunately, if you do overdose on benadryl, taking Kratom will "totally" fix this lol

Cravings are still bad. My daily use had gotten even worse than what was mentioned in this video. Thank you for making this. Avoiding sugar, caffeine, tobacco & all other addictive substances during withdrawl will help you get through it & actually heal a lot faster, can make the whole process a lot less uncomfortable, unless you're heavily addicted to those things too. Any substance that triggers a heavy dopamine release is going to slow down the process of withdrawal & recovery. It doesn't mean don't use these things forever. Just during recovery.

Some people may have had bad experiences w/ kratom. The truth of that shouldn't be covered up. But the big picture is that it's saving lives, and the govt and FDA are trying hard to criminalize it b/c it's costing them money. That shouldn't be covered up either, or minimized just b/c there are risks involved. And it DOES NOT need to be restricted or controlled, b/c THEN it would be unattainable and used for profit. We are all adults and we need to be held responsible for our decisions, and that includes being educated and not be naive about the risks.

I've been tapering down slowly as my last kilo depletes. For the past several months I've been supplementing my brain with 5-HTP, L-Tyrosine, and GABA in order to hopefully wire my brain correctly once I do quit. I can say, when I go twelve hours without Kratom, it's not so much my mood that drops or anything, it's just that physical gross vibration and empty stomach feeling that makes me feel like I need more Kratom. Best of luck to y'all.

@ericellquist7007
@ericellquist7007 5 жыл бұрын
@@uribheidi That depends. Duration of addiction, type of opiate, plus individual brain chemistry and architecture. I had been on different types of pain meds for years. Bulging discs, lower back. Had to be able to work, so I took the meds. Had to do the contract with the doctor, all that. Periodically I would get fed up, and quit. Methadone was the worst. When I started the Kratom, I was on morphine. Took the Kratom for two months and I decided to go cold turkey. Two weeks of hell. First week I felt like I was burning up. Like my temperature was 150°. It wasn't but I felt it anyway. Brain gets messed up, the normal receptors for pain, temperature, taste, smell... Different for everybody, I guess. One thing I did notice,.was that the red, green, and white have different effects. I was on the red when I quit. The red alkyloids are more like the opiates, the green, less so. The white less still. White is more of a stimulant, green has the stimulant and opiate effect, so if I had it to do again, I would switch from the red to the green, until I got steady with that and then start the white, same, same. Eventually tapering off the white.

The comment section's really doin wonders for a guy rn. Glad to know there's so many, SO many people out there that can attest to these withdrawal effects/negatives. The dumbest part for me is I watched this video years ago, hearing these exact points made, yet come today (day 2 of no kratom) I couldn't fathom why I was so damn PISSED. I hadn't felt anger like that in years...over the littlest things too. It didn't help that I was smoking weed multiple times a day on top of my evening kratom use [and tried quitting both cold turkey at the same time]. I felt so guilty going out and buying more kratom tonight, but now that I'm reading the benefits of tapering off, I feel a little better. I wasn't in as deep as many - dosed daily in the evening, between 4-5 grams in total each day for about 2-3 months now. Last two nights I slept pretty badly, but rather than realizing it was withdrawal, my dumbass woke up saying, "damn, kratom's really helpful for sleep!" NOT EVEN RECOGNIZING IT AS WITHDRAWAL EFFECTS!! smh

CBD, GABA, Calm magnesium. And some others which help. I had direha for 3 weeks. I do a lotta running 10 to 15 miles a week which helps but not much. The problem is we know so damn little about mitragynine and 7-hydroxy-mitragynine. From everything ive read, i am pretty convinced our bodies turn it into other active and non active or lesser active opiates and some people get much stronger and more addictive by-products or just react more heavily towards the same by products. I have been using kratom for a year now and i have had times where i would take multiple times up to 18 grams a day and times were i would simply forget taking it, i would feel sleepy and tired without knowing why and i now only assume it to be the kratom but honestly im not really sure because it could be the alcohol which is the only thing i actually crave when quitting a couple days

But it too came back after like another two weeks and I have not touched it since. It's still lingers in my mind cause it's so easy to turn a shit day into something lively and colorful for like 8$. But the real trick is to make that stuff happen without substance.
@Trevor6714
@Trevor6714 5 жыл бұрын
@Captain Fantastic if that's what you feel you need to do man then alright. But listen to your body for awhile like it's needs. We all dose for different reasons. Some good some not. But if your reason is negative I would recommend slowing down and stopping. Life blows. Like it really does but that doesn't mean you have to feel like ass all the time. Sometimes you really just gotta be sober and take a good hard look at some ugly things hiding in the closet. Don't clean out the whole thing, just pick one. And it's up to you how to deal with it, but of you do it in a positive manor I promise you will see some strength not too far ahead of you. And just acknowlging the presence of it will make you feel good, but you have to use that feeling like a natural high or boost to keep pushing you forward. Things will get tougher I'm not going to lie but the feeling that you prevailed over what looked overwhelming and impossible can't be matched by any drugs.

@@boogiemcsploogie Best of luck to you friend, give us an update comment on how your doing. I’ll tell you I’ve come off of it multiple times and the super long half life makes the symptoms drag the whole process out for like the better part of 10 or so days!! I found cold showers and a couple or three drinks on the stronger side (not enough to get drunk just get my insides warm and feel more comfortable and make me drowsy and able to actually get some good rest because if you can get a good amount of sleep, not too much just 8ish hours a night, you will do two things, make the time pass faster and feel a little better because your getting proper rest) really tame down the symptoms enough to be able to get some good sleep at night. If your not a drinker or are scarred you might accidentally replace kratom with alcohol then a good dose of NyQuil before bed after you get warm again from the cold shower will probably work just as good for getting some good sleep but it might not make you feel quite as comfortable, and we all know the WORST part of any/all withdrawals is the feeling of crawling out of your skin, like the itchy but not finding where to scratch, clothes seem to make you hot but then you shed some layers and then get too cold, not able to get comfortable in any sitting or laying position no matter how hard you try, body aches and soreness that doesn’t seem to go away even with the max doses of Motrin or other over the counter stuff, yeh that’s honestly the worst part of it imo but I mean every ones different.That and staying hydrated, drinking lots (again don’t overdue it but it will keep you warm and also give you enough energy to stay motivated throughout the day to accomplish whatever you got goin on) of strong coffee during the day and dressing in layers to shed or add during the day to keep my temp regulated because the hot/cold feelings are pretty uncomfortable as well. Hope you managed to get off it or at least tapered your dose down to a more manageable amount so the future withdrawals aren’t quite as rough. And PLEASE, give us an update comment on how your doing with it, I’d like to know how it’s going and what other methods you might have used to tame the WD symptoms!! All that being said I still use it but VERY SPARINGLY like no more than a couple three four times a week, I can’t handle going through the WDs again, it was just rough on me physically, emotionally and mentally. Hope you read this friend and hope your doing well and not on the kratom anymore or just back to a much smaller more manageable dose, take care!!

I sort agree with you about the paragraphs long response without answering the direct question. I "tried" to watch one of his videos about Ayahuasca, but it was so rambling and not-really-informative, that I just had to move on. It seemed based on opinion and not really research. But his overall rambling tone was that the viewer should absolutely agree with his warnings. My theory is that he loves to hear himself talk, assumes a high-level of sel-importantance, and wants to be some hero-type. Sorry for all of the hyphens.

@@redriver6541 As an person with intractable chronic pain, I have done a lot of research on this subject. I wanted to believe that they could just roll something out. They do have a pain medication only available by intrathecal pump and only by a handful of technicians trained to fill them that contain a non-addictive pain medication derived from sea snail venom but it is currently cost prohibitive, not widely available due to having to have a tech trained to handle it and it requires a very invasive surgery to implant the pump. These factors would rule out the majority of pain patients due to cost or risk due to the surgery alone, even if everyone knew how to fill the pumps. Aside from that, we are looking at waiting for them to find a suitable compound that is non-addictive that could be used on the majority of the pain patient population, then another 10 years or so for clinical trials. I am going off of information provided by doctors that asked the same questions about this. Personally, if I had to wait 10+ years to get relief, I'd be dead long before it got here. I've been reduced on my medications to nothing, although I have cardiac issues that are exacerbated by uncontrolled pain and even though I was on them for years, as well as in counseling as a safe guard (my idea) to watch for addiction issues. Never had a dirty UA. Never had any potentially problematic issues signifying addiction or misuse. Because they CAN be addictive, I was set to live the rest of my most probably short life, in terrible pain that will never go away or calm down. When I tried Kratom, tentatively at first, I cried. I freaking bawled my eyes out because I got relief and it gave me back some of what my daily pain levels had stolen from me and what I have been denied due to what MIGHT happen with the medications. Some semblance of having a life. And let me tell you something, that might sound cliche, but until a person loses having any semblance of a life, it is incredibly difficult to imagine the full scope and magnitude of what that really means. For me, it's like being hit, dragged and run over all over again and then set on fire. Every day. That is, if I can manage to sleep or it's all one long day. If they weren't smart enough to give us a non-addictive alternative before yanking the meds, they could at least let us have Kratom until they can provide that. Especially with pain patients opting to commit suicide, having major health events and dying or turning to heroin to look for relief because they left us high and dry. They could at least have the decency to do that.

I never felt too much emotions either. I'd feel a sorta sad here, a little happy there, but I didn't really FEEL it, idk how to describe it. I only quit after a few months because I realized it was numbing my emotions, and like you mentioned, I felt them after the dam got taken down haha. Loose Change9 Yeah why is it that schools don't teach alcohol to be just as bad as the hard drugs once addicted. In my opinion alcohol is just as bad as heroin if a person becomes heavily addicted. Obviously some people can just a have a drink once in a while but it's the people who get addicted that struggle just as bad as a herion addict. But hey the government is making a ass ton of money taxing it so it is taught in schools to be more socially acceptable. Just like nicotine actually being the #1 most addictive substance. They didn't teach us that but since the government makes billions it's downplayed in school as just a bad habit that causes cancer. Hopefully one day the government realizes how much more money they can get from taxing weed and then that will be socially acceptable too which we are already seeing in a ton of states.

However the second time i tried to withdraw was so urgent and there was NO WAY for me to get some days off (as a professional mover). I suceeded and tbh in retrospect i'd say that you will feel horrible anyway, no matter if you can lie in bed or have to do physical labour. At least this is what i figured out for me, there is no 'real' remedy for the withdrawals except time imho. And After returning home i even felt some comfort in just 'sitting' or getting back into my bed. Not sure i could handle it if i'd have to work directly with people though. In this state you just want to not talk to people... ;p So i'd say, you can if you have to. It might be hell, but the fear is worse than the real thing.

I love Kratom ! Unfortunately my kidneys and liver stated hurting after 7 months of it. Got so bad my back was hurting from my liver and kidneys I almost went to the hospital. I stop and in 24 hours my back started feeling much better. My hair started thinning also which sucks. So I’m stepping back from kratom for these reasons. Also I have become almost anorexic/bulimic due to Kratom. Throwing up is a huge problem with kratom. Everyone throws up on it. Then your stomach has to be empty to take it. So you basically never have food in your stomach. Gave me a shit ton of energy when I wasn’t sick or dizzy. It was a gamble every time I used it. Either I was happy and bouncing off the wall or I felt like I was dying. So it is risky. It will help you get off opioid addiction but then you left addicted to kratom. So choose your poison people. Just cold turkey go through the dying feeling for a day or two. Then start going for walks or exercise when you start mentally craving your drug. It does work if you want it to work. Lots of chicken soup and EXERCISE. Sweat that poison out and get over your addiction faster. You’re going to feel like dying the first 2-3 days. Then after your body goes through withdrawals your mental state will need help too it’s a habit so it like clockwork. You have to break that pattern with exercise or meditation. It will drive you crazy but after about 1-3 weeks the mental patterns are broken. So that’s why Exercise is important because it give you a learned new pattern. Every time you have a bad thought go outside and walk until your anxiety is back down. There will be many walks trust me. Fortunately this is a healthy pattern so now your brain is being rewired. It takes time people and you have to want it. Say and doing are two different things. Love,light,peace and harmony people. Get off all that crap and live your best life! Being high all the time makes you look stupid especially in public. It wasn’t until I was off opioids and witnessed other people on opioids and I realized how stupid I actually looked when I was on them. You don’t realize it because you’re so fucking high you think you’re floating on top of the world. In actuality people around you really do know if you’re on drugs. You look and act like it. Just telling the truth people! Get off of your pills or whatever you’re on. Then go in public find somebody else that is on something (drugs)and you’ll see what I’m talking about. You look fucking stupid and I used to look stupid too! People know! Get your life right! Your fucking up and living like cockroaches in your homes. You rather buy drugs then actually take care of your home or yourself along with your children. Wake up! Time to live the nice life with money instead of living off McDonald’s dollar sandwiches.

Kratom has so many different strains and potencies which makes the withdrawal vary by a lot. Also people who toss n wash and don't measure have no idea how much they're really taking. Some places mix chemicals into their Kratom too, addictive stuff.
@FrantiC119

I was at over one kilo of kratom a month at one point(Up to 10-15mg a day multiple times a day). The problem with it isn't that it has any real negative effects at reasonable starting doses, but that you can easily build to ridiculous levels because of the lack of clear negative effects other than loss of potency. I think this a lot to do from not being able to discern when you're using kratom as a medication and when you're using it to get high. You probably won't build too much tolerance if you're only using kratom to combat pain, anxiety, or as a coffee like pick-me-up. The point is though at SOME point anything you put in your body will have a negative effect. It doesn't really matter what it is and at that dose I was at I was seeing serious negative effects in my mind's ability to regulate normal bodily functions. I was urinating in really bizarre frequencies and had a ridiculous sleep pattern. I also saw huge peaks and drops in energy levels for no discernible reason. The biggest effect was probably the depression though. How much that was because of the lack of sleep and weird energy I don't know, but I also felt like if I wasn't currently dosed then I would almost immediately enter withdrawal or within a couple of hours.

My ex went from being an opiate addict to kratom addict to treat his back pain (but also been a long user of such drugs recreationally), which I felt was a much better thing to make that switch (and still do), BUT, I grew so tired of him having ZERO sex drive, having temper problems (getting angry and verbally attacking me over nothing), and yes - he got his first kidney stone (which he passed). It takes him eons to take a piss, which he does sitting down because of it. He went from biking every day to work and being fit, to never biking and getting a massive gut. He gets nauseous often too, particularly when he takes the stuff on an empty stomach. I was with him for the better part of 15 years. It really sucks that a substance alone can ruin a relationship, but it did. I still love and miss him, and always will I am sure, but I can’t hang with the side effects of his habit. It’s keeping him from being himself, and I fell in love with his old self.

I have quit several times over the years for a few weeks at a time just to check and see if I was "addicted"- I was really tired and a bit miserable for about 2 days- yeah, 2 days, where I slept a lot.- but because I work a job that requires me to stand for hours at a time, my knees ache, I don't really feel like taking pain killers, my life is better with it.- Honestly, I wouldn't quit during the middle of the work week because my energy levels do plummet, but frankly I'm not seeing a good reason to quit it improves my quality of life. I imagine I could do a full no Kratom, no coffee, no energy drink, no pre work, no medication of any kind for a week as kind of an experiment, but after 6 years I think I would have noticed if Kratom was bad for me

Life feels like just surviving/"getting by" rather than living 95% of the time. Yeah man totally agree its crazy to think just how much less depressed people were 50 years ago and even in countries where the situation is clearly just so much worse, its insane just how much thinking about the past or worrying about the future can ruin the present moment where 99% of the time is just perfect as it is. I myself take about 5 grams of kratom quite frequently. A couple times a week, mostly before I work as it lifts my mood and makes me more productive. I’m an advocate for kratom myself, however, it definitely isn’t for everyone and I think this video does a good job at showing this. While I can take anywhere up to 9 grams of kratom and few euphoric and fine, my friend can’t even take 4 grams without throwing up profusely. The drug affects everyone’s body differently and I think it’s important to start off with a low dosage and work your way up. I haven’t taken any kratom for about 2 weeks as I have run out and haven’t had time to go buy more, and I feel no rush to do so. I definitely don’t feel any symptoms of withdrawals, but as stated before everyone is different. I think if you are going to try kratom, do so with caution, any drug u take, no matter how natural or harmless, it’s still a drug and should be treated as such.

Carlee Morgan your experience is very similar to my own. I’ve taken Kratom for over a decade. I’ve taken it daily for the past several years. I ran out a couple of weeks ago. My vendor was restructuring their site, so I could not order any more for a couple of weeks. I could have ordered some from another vendor, I could have even bought some overpriced stuff at the gas station. I didn’t though, because I didn’t want to overpay or get a product that I wasn’t familiar with. I don’t have any experience with drug addiction, but I would think that an addict would not be able to turn down a chance to purchase their drug when it is sitting right in front of them. Maybe I’m too much of a cheapskate to be an addict... lol I won’t dare say that I didn’t want Kratom while I was out. I love what it does to make life better, but for me it wasn’t worth overpaying for or the risk of paying for a product that I wouldn’t like. As far as “withdrawal”, all I felt was my normal aching bones and joints that Kratom alleviates and the lack of an energy boost that I get from it.

RaffiNGO kratom is safe from dependency using one or twice a week occasionally taking a week off, I have had access to pounds for over a year and haven't gotten a dependency or withdrawals ever using in that way, it works on an opiod receptor in the brain so it can form dependency just with repeated use also risk is increased with an addictive personality. Shit is literally a magic herb for those in pain without insurance.

Keep in mind you can get addicted to anything, including caffeine and sugar. Yep... people go through withdrawals with both.

Obviously but the WD from those compounds are not nearly as bad as kratom or other opioids

You know it isn’t the same thing. Those withdrawals are nowhere near comparable to kratom.

Yeah I had to quit sugar completely recently and I realized last night that it's a stronger addiction than caffeine was and definitely worse than my weed habit.

Yup and coffee and sugar doesn't have high amounts of lead and heavy metals and are safe to consume I'm getting off this shit cause I didn't know I was eating lead Everytime I took kratom maybe y'all should too until they start growing it domestically and not in contaminated soil in developing countries

I was taking oxycodone up to 100 mg a day at 17 years old for debilitating anxiety. I finally quit about 6 months ago with Kratom. If taking it for the rest of my life is what it takes to feel ok at all ever, I’m fine with that.😀

Jason. Without a doubt. This is for someone with your experience. I was on sub for years and used it to get off. I always said this is it. My last crutch. I hate the withdrawals from it but I know how I am and know as of right now in my life it’s saving me. One day I hope I can move on from it.

Jason Kirk Amen, dude!!!! You were taking Oxycodone? Well I'm trying to get off BOTH Methadone AND Oxymorphone!!!! I am blessed in that, completely on my own, I began at 80mg of Methadone a day, and by tapering, I was able to take a half a tablet, less, every two weeks, to the point that I am now down to just one and a half tablets, or 15mg of it a day, total!! But for some reason, I've found that the lower I've gone on the substance (Methadone), the more difficult it's been to taper off of it--even though I would use the Oxymorphone to stave off the Methadone withdrawals!! Hey, just so people know: I'd "much rather" go through Oxymorphone withdrawal than Methadone; because they can last five to six times as long on Methadone!!!! Anyway, if I have to take a little Kratom, now, to go the rest of the way, so be it!!!! I'm just NOT going to SUFFER if there's something I can do about it!!!!

Jason Kirk I first tried kratom in the late 1990's. I currently use kratom instead of suboxone. I understand that I will always have a use for kratom. Therefore I use it responsibly. I buy in bulk so it only costs me around one dollar a day. I use kratom 3 times a day. Once when I wake up. Again 6-8 hours later. Then right before I go to bed. Grapefruit & turmeric amplify the effects of kratom. So I blend one grapefruit & one turmeric along with orange juice in the blender. After that is done I pour the juice into a large cup. Then I put 4 grams of kratom in the grapefruit/orange juice & mix with butterknife. Then drink. Even though I have been using for years my tolerance is still like I'm a beginner. In order to keep tolerance low you must stop using kratom from time to time & only use kratom stems/veins. Your tolerance will also stay low if you rotate strains. Every 2 months I stop using kratom & only use kratom veins/stems for a week straight. After that my tolerance is low. You have to be responsible or else your tolerance will increase over the years.
