I still play NFL 2K5 on my PlayStation 2. It's still to me the greatest football game ever made 2K2, 2K3 & 2K4 are also amazing. You can't forget about All Pro Football 2K8 on PS3. That game has the best physics of any football game.

The new NFL games have no good hitting, no dominating defense, and though the graphics are great the physics and movements feel perverse. 2k5 just looks symmetrical, and is square. It just moves right and is why I just bought it today.

Sadly 2k5 is still the best football game out. I stopped buying football games after Madden 08 I think. I’m still wondering if I’ll ever see a 2k football game again. The coolest thing about the 2k series was the one that came out on Dreamcast, you can pick your plays from your controller’s little display so no chance of your opponent guessing what you picked

I still play 2k5 and Madden 08 on the OG XBOX, and I'm building a PC just to play modded and updated versions of those games. The NFL is literally stepping over dollars to pick up pennies by letting EA have the exclusive license. The franchise modes of those two games in their prime not only taught me football at a young age but also made a lifelong fan out of me. Madden has been broke since the 360/ps3 generation and it's obnoxious that I have to play games over a decade old to get decent video game football. Do better NFL , do better.

How do you setup your game settings? Because off rip 2k5 will leave you playing 14-10 games all season with low yard totals. You have to tinker with sliders and play at least 10 min quarters imo..

I also returned to playing nfl2k5 with the amazing nfl2k24 mod. This game is a million times better than any madden game and its 20 years old. EA is a joke. Same boring crap every year and little to know improvements. But keep buying mut packs and $80 a year for a roster update lol.

Hell yea!!!! The older maddens and 2k were way better the gameplay felt so smooth and real plus you could create your own teams create your own formations and plays the kids of this generation will never experience madden like we did in the early to mid 2000s

there is a mod you're able to play the PS2 through some form of emulator on the series but it was a little too difficult for me so I didn't end up doing it but its out there

Yes, we do need competition. EA Sports hasn’t improved Madden’s Gameplay with any significance. I’m getting ready to buy an Xbox and play NFL 2K5 again myself smh 🤦🏽‍♂️

Everyone would be happy if they would simply do a remaster of 2k5 or any other older sports title and made it avaliable on current consoles but if you want to play quality games you have to buy a retro console which honestly is not that much more of a rip off then what ea sports is doing tbh

2K5 my defenders are always getting turned around the game is really nice in terms of animations but man is it glitchy at times. No amount of tinkering with the game can fix it either APF 2K8 is better and less glitchy.
