I do not mean this in a rude way but I feel you have misunderstood Kris. Kris is NOT a blank slate like Frisk. Kris had their own life, back story, personality and was already a pre-established character in this world. They are somebody that we have taken control over. As of now, we don't know how or why this has happened. Other characters comment on how strange Kris has been acting recently, this is because we are controlling them and making them act differently compared to how they normally act (Kris is described as being a bit of a trickster). As of now, the theory is that Kris is removing their soul to breathily take back control. Lastly, Kris a They, not a He lmao.

You may hate Birdley but he's part of why Queen is so funny, his character is used to give Noelle a bit of backstory (kinda) and to make the narrative a bit more dynamic, a lot of jokes in chapter two are results of Queen and Birdly simply having interactions lol Oh and his ?death? is a good way to end (kinda x2) the Weird Route ^^ OH ! and his osts are banger

I LOVE Undertale, but I've always liked Deltarune more. I never outright said it because I was too scared people would get upset with me (even though I know that's irrational) since it's very dear to some people. Half of me also thought that I was the only one who thought this, so I'm glad someone else said this. Deltarune is a beautifully done game, and so is Undertale

I think it’s still way too early to make this call. Or even have this discussion. Yeah, Deltarune is looking to be great and all, but it’s not even complete yet. Undertale objectively has things that Deltarune does not yet. Like a full story, an ending, full character arcs. Yes, so far Deltarune has been promising, but there is still that small chance that it could become ass. Toby Fox is a great game dev but he’s not some flawless angel. The next chapters are all perfectly capable of being controversial. We need to wait for the game to actually be a full game before we start comparing it with Undertale. Honestly I don’t think we should even be comparing it with Undertale. I don’t think we’re meant to make these two games compete. Rather, they compliment each other.

Deltarune is gonna be like x2-3 times longer than undertale when it’s done so we have a ton of content to get to. We aren’t even in the climax of the story so obv we feel more connected to undertale since it’s a completed game and we been with it longer.

I disagree but hey. I feel like there are more emotoinal moments in undertale and also most of chapter 1 & 2 feel like snowdin but extented for multiple hours in terms of tone. It's kind of just walk to the next cutscene. Also I like undertale's meta vibe with the whole resetting stuff. I wonder if that stuff still exists in delta rune 🤔 That said I still love delta rune and also it isn't finished so I can't really judge it fairly

Deltarune is not *better* than Undertale, it is *different* Toby said it himself somewhere One thing I think I prefer to Undertale is that the battle feel more like a little story where you become friend with a monster. In Deltarune it tends more to the strategic aspect, I won’t say it’s worst, it’s something *different* I also love the concept of characters like Flowey remembering your saves and reset, it is such an unique story. The fact that you play kinda like a god in the universe who can chose to do the right things, and then have to face Asriel who become even more of a god Deltarune won’t be better like I said it will be different. It will explore the fact that the character you’re playing isn’t actually your character, Kris is their own character, but you force them to act as you want. It will be something as unique as Undertale, and different. Now you can prefer which one you want, for now I prefer Undertale I think, but that can change in the future, even though I won’t say one is better than the other

To be honest, only time will really tell. The story of Deltarune isn't complete, but Undertale's is. While we know pretty much what's going on in the entirety of Undertale, as well as the story it tells with each route, Deltarune only brings up more questions because it's not complete. Undertale held many solid and powerful ideas, but Deltarune is more or less an unknown. Like we can point at Undertale and go "that shit's fucking amazing", because it all comes together at the end to provide a powerful story. But for Deltarune, we don't even really know what's going on just yet.

i’m not gonna lie as i’ve gotten older i’ve come to like deltarune WAY more, especially with the release of chapter 2 to see more of what it’s doing, it just sucks how much less of the overall game there is to chew on (even if the actual content that currently exists is just as much, if not more than undertale lmao)

And tweeted stuff about how they're attracted to shota bellies, oh little boy bellies are the best, oh children are so cute they _don't know what to do with themself!!!,_ etc... 🛑⛔🚫🙅😵🤢🤮 Then when people found out & kindly warned others about it, the artist was all like "Ohs noes, ppl are so cruel me, it was only a few pics single-digit years ago, I don't go after REAL kids I promise uwu~" And of course their stans (many being kids who didn't realize why this is a problem, they just like pretty Undertale/Deltarune pictures) were all rallying around them like "We believe in you! Don't listen to all those haters! It's 'just art' so it's perfectly fine~!" So now that artist is continuing on like nothing ever happened, with their remaining fanbase now rabidly devoted, & innocent kids being indoctrinated into proship camp. 😞 Fictional subjects or not, such art comes from someone's REAL problem, & fuels it more (both in the artist & 'similar' viewers) so it gets harder for them to overcome it. And in turn, sharing it publicly (especially where a large chunk of the audience are children) grooms people to normalize & accept such behavior... in turn, making them more likely to accept someone abusing them that way, & not reporting it or seeking help, because then they'd think they're "picking on" their abuser. 😟 I felt so betrayed to find out; their art is so beautiful... But you never know what ugliness lies beneath. 😔 Even if their new (public) art isn't dirty anymore, I still can't look at their pics of Frisk & the Deltarune teens without knowing how that artist might be thinking of them...

Frisk/Chara were blank slates. Their motivations, what they consider fun, their gender even, all of it is left up to the player to determine. Kris on the other hand, is actually a person. They are a teen who misses their brother, is mischievous and skilled at piano, who is enby. With the end of Chapter 2, it's clear that they are in conflict with us the player, who have taken over their life, and is causing a problem we will have to deal with. What sort of person they are is yet to be revealed, but it's a sure thing that whatever we players decide to do, Kris will not accept it.

Toby has already stated that Undertale was just to prove that he can make a game and actually be cohesive in some way, which is insane bc of how popular it became and how much the story means to so many people. Deltarune has been in the works since Toby’s contribution to homestuck. It came to him in a dream and he doesn’t know if the ending will be a good one or not. With how Undertale played out, I think deltarune is gonna stick the landing when all is said and done.

I prefer undertale, because of the story, and versatility. undertake has 93 endings, delta rune, for now, technically doesn't even have endings, I dont count snow grave because it basically ends the same way for now (except chicken nugget man). but I play more delta rune then undertake, because the mechanics are cooler, because toby coded undertake first, so he had experience for deltarune

Deltarune Gameplay is 100% BETTER Skip dialogues (and almost cut-scenes) Be able to Run Use/equip itens are faster and more interesting (Party interactions). I already talked about RUN? Extra: Fights in Weird Route hopelly, will not be like Genocide (Hit-kill). And Deltarune make a better use of it's songs and Characters, most part of they are more likeable here than in Undertale (at least for me).

Well deltarune isn’t finished yet so it isn’t a complete package. Deltarune is quite the opposite of undertale. While it shares many of its characters, the overall themes are different. On one side we have a story about how our choices affects the world we live in, and is an anti rpg in some aspect. On the other side, we have a story about whether our choices even matter, is our curiosity warranted? And it’s mostly an actual rpg. What I think deltarune will have over Undertale when it’s done will be the meta narrative overall and how much it will play on the actual story being presented. Deltarune is gonna be such a fever dream once it’s done like how toby originally envisioned it.

To me, Undertale is a more personal experience as u are immersed in its story and its characters. The raw emotions present throughout it really sells that ur choices do matter. And tbh, Undertale’s soundtrack is better but that’s mostly bc we are working with a completed soundtrack. That’s why I think deltarune will be a deviation from that personal nature of undertale. It will focus more on the separation between the player and the fictional world u are playing in. It will build a meta narrative that will mindfuck the player beyond the bounds of its actual narrative within the game. Personally, Undertale is gonna have the better story of the two while as a game, deltarune is gonna be better gameplay wise and how much toby is willing to play with the meta aspects of it.

Thinking Deltarune is better should not be a hot take, so such deep explanation is unnecesary. It's technically the main game toby fox wanted to create, and Undertale was just a test. It's bigger and goes deeper.

Wdym by go deeper? Like the meta aspect or the themes? At the moment, we can’t objectively compare the two as one game is completed and the other is technically in its first act or as some ppl have been saying, it’s snowdin section. It’s kinda early to already be having this conversation when we don’t even have an ending to the game yet. Maybe we can once 3 & 4 are out.

@@okluminous566 What i mean by "goes deeper" is, i watched a lot of theories, and they've been absolutely crazy. There is just so many things in the game that leave questions. It's not even on the level of Undertale.

@@Disorder2312 I do agree the theories have been crazy but they are theories they aren’t canon to what is presented in the story. Once deltarune gets an official ending, then I believe we can thoroughly compare the two.

I think Undertale is impossible to top, honestly. It's an experience like no other. Deltarune doesn't hit the same way.

It’s cuz we haven’t gotten to the meat of the story in deltarune, let Toby cook. Although, I agree undertale’s highs will never be replicated even if deltarune ends up as a more consistent game to play. Those moments in undertale rewired my brain as a kid and I see deltarune not being able to live up to that. It is what it is though.

As a solo chapter, I would agree. It’s so packed with content it’s insane that we are gonna get 5 chapters after it and maybe even more since we aren’t sure if chapter 7 is the actual end. The aesthetic, the world, the characters, the music, everything about it is leagues above what undertale had. And don’t get me started on the weird route, which prob has the scariest moment of any of these games, noelle and Kris at the hospital, and potentially will be worse than a genocide route from undertale. However, I do find chapter 1 kinda pales in comparison to undertale or it’s sequel chapter so I consider it as a bonus to deltarune.

Idk undertale feels like a masterpiece but Delta rune doesn't, also delta rune isn't finished so that's part of it. I feel like delta rune isn't as serious as undertale and that's kind of missing from it, then again it also isn't finished yet again. I hope the vibe changes a bit as we get more chapters, not that I don't the funny stuff or anything, just feels a bit over saturated.

imo, both are essentially walking sims yet deltarune has alot better art, moments and other stuff. for example, no one came to undertale for the bullet hell stuff. it was for the story, the characters, and deltarune does this (imo again) better than undertale

@@Blockrooms I agree with what you're saying but for me the best moments of undertale beat the best moments of delta rune. Like date with papyrus, the build up to asgore (omg the soundtrack there!), the bit when flowey knows you killed torial. I also love the talk with flowey on genocide near the end. Delta rune is a lot more relaxed that undertale and it kind of just feels like everyone's just hanging around and making jokes, the stakes are never very high and it doesn't really matter whether you "kill" or spare enemies. Then again, I'm hoping deltarune serpasses my expectations and will be very happy if it does. At the moment though I'm not expecting it to surpass undertale
