My father always send me to walk my little sisters (they are in their 20's) to anywhere, one of my guy friend said that he felt safe walking with me. When i was 7-10 years old i thought that i was actually a boy who trapped in a girl's body, I was sad about it. Almost every woman who doesn't fit into the narrow expectations placed upon them by society (trans women, plus-sized and fat women, athletic and muscular women, women with less curvy bodies or smaller breasts, tall women, hairy women, women of color who have to contend with extensively European based beauty standards, women who don't feel comfortable in "femme" clothing or make-up, who have shorter hair, who have broad jaws or shoulders, etc.) have experienced that fear that they are not feminine enough and the anxiety that they are going to be put in even more danger because of it. It's a very female experience. Welcome, sister!

I’m a non binary women and I connected so much with how Andrea discussed gender and her frustrations around how other people perceive her gender. I read a comment on the as/is video of Jordan discussing his gender that said “it would be so much easier if Jordan dressed and looked more androgynous. Then they wouldn’t be misgendered as much.” I love my body and my boobs and my curves. None of those things about me are indicators of my gender. It’s been engrained in our society that those characteristics makes someone a women when they don’t. I don’t want to have to change my body or physical appearance for other people ever. What needs to change is how people understand and perceive gender.

I remember you from one Buzzfeed video and I remember that I felt this understanding of your person, that was surely on my side only (like how could I actually understand you, we don’t know each other) But now Im guessing it’s because I already saw myself in you and I’m happy it’s still the case. This video helped me a lot and it made me more proud and safe in myself whatever my decision about hormones will be. Thank you so much. All the best for you 🏳️⚧️❤️🫂

Also, the part about realizing that you're giving up your male privilege. It was really interesting, very enlightening, and saddening as well... I wish things were simpler, I wish things were easier for trans people, trans women and cis-gendered women in general. I wish gender wasn't such a heavy topic, that everyone could just identify as whatever they want and other people wouldn't get so worked up about it... I identifi as genderfluid (my prounuance are she/they) and it felt weird and disgusting to always be called she and that people would see me as a woman. I would sometimes have panic attacks about it and i would ask myself: “Who are you?” “What are you?” But a Day when i was just like looking up things, i came upon the term non-binary and genderfluid. I had found me, i began looking into it and found out people used the prounuance they/them, i had finally found something that fit me. Since i have been much happier and are planning coming out to some people. I just want to say Happy pride month!🏳️🌈
