so here's what's going on with octane out of core feature. so what happen when you render a scene, all of that information are stored in your VRAM which is very limited (mine is only 8GB) and when you have a complex and high resolution texture all of that VRAM are being used and almost no space left for the denoiser to work. so when we turn that feature on, the geometry and texture data are stored on RAM and being processed to GPU when needed. so the out of core memory limit is depend on how much of your RAM available. the GPU headroom is to limit how much of your VRAM is available and not being used to render, this will improve stability and less crash. If you feel the denoiser is not working even if you already turn on out of core feature, make sure you don't open or working with another CPU and RAM intensive software. because that 5120MB memory are reserved for octane to use and other software can't use it. i think that's enough if you have 32GB of memory

Yep that's what happened to me when I use OBS 😭 plus my Canon camera for screen recording it's to much

I haven't tried it yet, but I just wanted to say that your videos are great and so good, literally the best channel for octane, theres so little information for it a part from your channel and the manual, so thank you so much man!

So when you say 'Let's get straight into it' I should jump ahead 3 mins to 'Get into it'.

Yeah, first thing I saw in the last video was the comments. There's always someone who gives a solution. Still new to blender octane. I have a question though: How does the denoiser perform on animations?
@1polygonewithme10 ай бұрын
For me it takes way to long ☹️ I use the work around I talked about in the first denoising video

Didnt have denoiser working in preview mode from camera view (works perfectly outside of camera). So I did all of your steps + checked "Beaty" in View layer - Denoiser panel. Now i can see denoiser work after render. tho still no denoiser in preview mode from camera view. But works for me.

I have the exact issue you're having. I have 64 GB Ram, so I turned on Out of Core, set it as high as 32GB and the headroom to 800MB but it's always hit and miss. Sometimes the denoiser works, sometimes it says "denoiser" and it does nothing. It's a pain to wait 30 mins for a render just for the denoiser to not work. I which there was a way to be 100% sure that the denoiser will work, even if it means slower render.

Yep that's why I just use Blenders denoiser I have gotten good result using it.👍🏾🤓

@@1polygonewithme I do, too, but I noticed that when Spectral AI Denoiser from Octane works it does a much better job.

Woow amazing wooorks finally! But im getting another problem there are some unusual dots on the shadow areas, guess its from light reflections in shadows. Anyone find out solution for this? Thanks for video!

I do not recommend to use defalut blender denoiser node.. It ruins a lot of detail. nowadays i found Octane DenoisedBeauty is much better than blender denoiser. exaggeratingly say about that, "100 sample with 'octane denoiser' is better than 2000 sample with blender default denoiser"
@tommorow_jh10 ай бұрын
anyway, thanks alot of your job! i always watching your video :)

Ya I agree but rendering animation it's very slow 🥺🙏🏾
@MidnightFlight3789 ай бұрын
@@1polygonewithme I think it's optimal to not use any denoisers straight in the render engine for animations. It's better practice to render your sequences with noise and them denoise then in programs such as davinci (temporal denoise) or AE and etc.

100% octane blender experience. Documentation is unfinished. Lots of bugs. Default settings are jst firefly spawning mess. Very tiny community (official discord is the only place to gain knowledge by asking ppl directly). But the speed beats everything. Its so fast that i always feel pain swithing back to cycles for my old projects. Its literally day and night difference. Even with rtx denoiser, cycles is nowhere near. Also packed with industry standard features cycles keeps ignoring... lightmixer, viewport color correction, region render, texture displacement jst to name afew.

aside from the denoiser, is octane worth using for renders, materials etc?

It's just another option it's just like you have Cycles you have Arnold you have red shift we have octane it's just another option plus it's free Cinema 4D users have to pay for this

Hello there, have you ever faced a problem with bump map and normal map in blender octane. I have been trying out octane for the 1st time. I'm using poliigon's free leather texture. When i use bump map, I see the details all pixelated upclose. When I use normal map with triplanar, edges don't blend. have you faced any? What's your workflow?
