Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

I always thought it was solely a marketing idea. But now I find it even more creative because you took something that you actually really need to physically feel better (like a sling or a cast on an injured arm) & use your nose strips to advertise your company. Brilliant!! 👏🏻

I doubt anyone will fully read what I have to say but I only had 1 nose surgery and that was to remove big polyps. I went to this very nice doctor and when she looked up my nose she literally said "holy shit" because of how big the polyps where and did surgery lmao. For most of my life I could only breathe out of one nostril and my parents always told me it was allergies. So when I became an adult I went to the doctor. Turns out it wasn't allergies. Ironic. The polyps where so big and so bad just before I got the surgery I had nose bleeds and headaches from literally not getting enough air. Years later I STILL love breathing through both my nostrils. Literally EVERYTHING smells different to me.

My son had a deviated septum probably from boogie boarding in Hawaii and a wave pushed him into a rock wall about 6 years ago. My husband is an ER physician and researched nose specialists in Colorado. They planned the surgery for over a year so it would be in the off season so my son would not have to take time off the bike. We are quite happy with the results and highly recommend Dr. Christopher Mawn who works at St. Anthony's hospital in the Denver. Dr. Mawn is a nose expert. Wishing you all the very best!

I always tended to open both mouth and nostrils for any kind of PT or serious situation that requires focused power output. After years of testing both nose and mouth breathing separately; and inclusively during: shooting, weight training, road cycling, running, darts, billards, and intense study. Here's the most interesting thing I have deduced: 1. You can breath through both nostrils and mouth separately, and simultaneously. 2. Closed mouth, open nostrils gives maximum oxygen to the brain. 3. "Shut off nostrils" with open mouth gives maximum oxygen to the body. 4. You can and should use both separately and simultaneously to your benefit according to each unique situation.

Hey Alex. I feel you, had the same issue. Thankfully i resolved this issue completly. I know you‘re very pragmatic. Before take surgery and maybe have deficiencies for your whole life. Try something to get rid of that thing. Try to read the book „Breath - the new science of lost art“ by James Nestor. For me it was not only the book, I tried to get of dairy (nowhere mentioned in this book) and I could already breath twice as much. Maybe also try that out. This doesn‘t mean try vegan haha. Keep eatin good protein meat!

You need Dupixent my dude. I know you can afford as many surgeries as you want, but if you have a case of nasal polyps, they’ll just keep coming back. Surgery after surgery. Dupixent shrinks the polyps and prevents them from coming back. Changed my life (similar nasal problems). I hope that helps.

My husband has similar issues. He uses nose stripes when he goes hiking, plays soccer or goes mountainbiking. It just makes him more endurable, because he can acctually breath. It's heartbreaking to know that some people are born with an inability to properly breath in and out of their noses. Kind of scary if you think about it... 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️

I was also 100% in one nostril and was compensating with the other one It was incredible being able to breath (and smell) for the first time ever. You need to check allergies, diet (you eat a lot of unhealthy food) etc. and possibly look into Orthotropics - I’ve also had two nose operations to help with nasal breathing. Planning to get an ALF Appliance fitted with cranial work done - would suggest you look into that too. Might also be acid reflux which comes up from your stomach and can irritate and inflame your sinuses. Or maybe a gut issue. You may also have a tongue tie, this can get sorted out through exercises and a minor surgery. If your tongue is not resting at the roof of your mouth (its natural resting place) then that’s a problem you’d want to fix asap. I used to run with my mouth wide open as I couldn’t nose breathe at all which cost me in terms of athletic performance and now while not perfect I can run easily with my mouth closed - which makes it so much more bearable. Also worth listening to ‘Breathe’ by James Nestor on Audible. I’m on a health journey myself which I document on my KZbin channel as I’m trying to become a singer. Nasal breathing is really important to me as it is the most natural way to humidify your vocal folds and also really affects your resonance when projecting your voice.

Yeah deviated septums blow, had 90% obstruction on my left nostril which was the primary nostril in my nasal cycle during nighttime so I couldnt breathe during sleep on top of already having insomnia so I had to hold it open with my arm and spray Flonase in my nose before bed, would wake up a lot of nights because I couldnt breathe and then couldnt fall back asleep. The first week after septoplasty blew, mouth breathing felt so unnatural, could barely sleep, but after it healed it was definitely worth it, made my quality of life especially during sleep infinitely better

ENT stuff is horrid. I've a relative whose adenoids have regrown multiple times, even affected their hearing when it was misdiagnosed (the after affects (tinnitus) were horrendous). The positive thing in your case is that they can readily see what it is. I hope that there's a procedure that can help you xx

Deviated Septum gang. My nose has been broken twice but only needed surgery the second time. It’s been about 8 years and my right nostril is max getting 25%.

GO SEE DR. TRAN IN PANAMA CITY, FL!!! He did mine two months ago, and I had roughly 90% blockage one side and I can breathe perfectly fine now.
