I’m painting Slaves to Darkness models for the Old World and using what is essentially an Alpha Legion scheme. It looks really good if I may say so myself.

Hobby hack variant! Cork sanding blocks! Its a cork brick you are meant to use to wrap sandpaper around, but could buy that and not have to buy the accompanying jar!

My 'bucket list model' is one I'll never be able to paint. The old, large size Abaddon model from Forgeworld. I don't think they've made it for years now, but damn if that wasn't one of the coolest things they've ever produced.

Stuff like the Handmaiden of the Everqueen is where I feel like recasts are completely justified, regardless of what you think of them otherwise. A recast Handmaiden of the Everqueen can be found for like $15 - $30 depending on recaster, and some of the better recasts will be better than the official model as they fix any imperfections before they make the master mold. The resin will also be significantly better than finecast, even from one of the "cheaper" recasters.

Both Dark Angels and Ultramarines are, by default, stuck with midtones too dark to make the look without edge highlights work really well. With ultras you can just fix it by changing the tone to a french blue, but dark angels with a more reasonable green are basically salamanders.

I keep meaning to submit my converted keeper of secrets to critique clinic. I showed it to James at a painting class and it needs another 50 hours of refinement but having a cat head and long neck makes it look weird and I love it.

The blue orc is a Brute Rager (by it's head) or a Weirdbrute Wrekka (by it's weapon). It's the same kit but different build options in the box art.

Sons of Velmorn would be top of my 'Bucket List'... the whole warband is amazing, but Velmorn himself is an incredible pose/sculpt. Sadly it's also probably the rarest Underworlds warband and tends to for for £80-90 on ebay...

You might be in luck with the handmaiden model Joe, some Tomb Kings models that were originally in finecast, were remade into metal when they were rereleased with the old world (Necrotect, Price Apophas) - hopefully this model gets the same treatment with the upcoming high elves release.

Ynnead is Inn-ee-ad. Not sure why people feel the need to pronounce the Y like in 'yellow'. All the related names, Ynnari, Yvraine, Yncarne, the Y is just pronounced as a short I. Love the models, though, and I agree with basically all your picks. Btw, Sheffield United fan here. :D
