A sport can only become popular if there is some kind of support from the local government and the countries media behind it, ICC can only do so much, also ICC does not have unlimited funding like FIFA, people fail to realize that many smaller countries have been milking ICC for decades in the name of developing cricket in their country while doing little to nothing, corruption is very difficult to weed out and ICC can only hope it works, if there is one country that breaks all these stereotypes and is a shinning example for how organically Cricket can become a phenomenon it is Afghanistan, they have absolutely nothing except their passion and look where they are and where they are going as a cricket team, as an Indian it makes me incredibly happy when i see their progress in cricket.

The main problem with cricket is cricket isn’t the most popular in asia itself 😂 football also dominated in asia and icc should look 👀 our own borders sharing or friendly countries ,like iran , indionasia , thiland, malyasia , tajakastan japan , they can be a solid team in future but instead of making cricket popular in asia . Icc is more focusing on iceland , findland , norway , denmark which can never adopt cricket due to their climate. This will not going to happen at all whatsoever. Here it's not ICC it's BCCI who takes control of world cricket. It takes 38.5% of the revenue earned by ICC due to the unfair advantage of the Indian population who follows cricket. BCCI is very greedy for money. If many new countries have started playing cricket, then round robin will not be considered during the World Cup in future due to which India will have to play less matches. Due to which BCCI will get less money compared to what it is getting now. I am surprised that cricket has been added to the Olympics by the time of 2028. Although I am very happy about this thing, but if we look at the history, there have been many such incidents that cricket was going to be included in the Olympics, but it could not happen because of BCCI. I think something similar is going to happen in the future because here the control of cricket will be in the hands of Olympics and not BCCI.
