Just saw this video on the fly and clicked on it not expecting much but it ended up being one of the sadest videos ive ever seen on this platform 😭 i think you currently going through political exhaustion and maybe taken a few years away from politics in general would be helpful as that seems to be your plan, but that said i also dont think this path of political nihilism is the right one as your vote is more than just a right, it is a symbol of your identity as a member of a democratic state and country that should be exercised. Take as long of a break from politics as your mental health requires but as your sister said you should vote even if it means choosing a lesser of 2 evils(on whatever side your on).

that was a really thoughtful comment and i appreciate it! thank u for being open to hearing me and giving a response that was sensitive to my feelings while also wise. we dont get that much these days with keyboard warriors and trolls attacking everyones opinions, and i think if conversations like this were had more often wed live in a better world. ❤️

speaking from a non american who lives in australia, to me I think Trump is better then harris, well I could say what I think about her but it wouldnt be nice fo rthe comments on your video and for youtube, I can understand why you dont want to vote, we just had a state election here in the state where i live in australia, I didnt want to vote cause the ones running are total idiots and talk out there bums and if we dont vote here we get fined, I enjoyed your video and totally understand where your coming from

y'all get fined? That's outrageous because what about people that don't learn anything in advance and just choose a name? I'm gonna be honest right now, my very first vote was before Obama and i voted for who my grandpa told me to. I was a kid, I didn't know any better. I didn't pay any attention to this election to fairly vote for Kamala because I don't really know much about her other than she's a Democrat and she's a woman which are two things that I support and I really don't like Donald Trump for a lot of reasons, didn't want to get too much into my feelings either way because I don't want anyone that watches this video or follows me or subscribes to feel alienated or dislike me solely based on my opinion of one human being. so i just chose to not choose. ❤

@@trailertrish yeah if we dont vote here we get fined and have to pay, like a speeding ticket, if u keep doing it (not voting the fine gets bigger and bigger the fine and u get jail time, its just easier to vote, I ddint vote once about 15 yrs ago, due to we never knw the local twn was having a bvote fo r a new mayor, 3/4 of the city didn tknow and I was fined $50aus, I hate voting here, its a waste of time, like there A@@holes get in and say they goign to do this and that and never do. That a good enough choice who to vote for and that is your opinion and dont let anyone else say other wise

You make some good points, but this is how voting works and you're finding out after Obama. First of all, good thing your family sticks to what they like. They vote Republican and that's what they like. You vote Democrat and that's what you like. Voting IS about YOUR opinion, so yes, if there's a difference of opinion, you are each cancelling each other out. That's reality. But you are walking right into the classic difference with the Democrats and Republicans. The saying goes, "Democrats want to fall in love, Republicans will fall in line". Meaning, you loved Obama and Bernie and you had a lot of passion. And yes, you're right because I mostly certainly feel the difference since 2008. But you said your parents are going to vote the way they vote. Meaning, they are going to get up any damn way and do it. They will fall in line. This is where Democrats get complacent. BUT, I will not shame you for not voting. That's an option and if you feel that a candidate hasn't earned your vote, you don't have to give them one. Your vote is valuable. But at the end of the day, a vote is an opinion and there's no need to argue over it. A vote is a personal opinion that's all yours. But I noticed how you carefully worded this title. It says "why im not voting in the 2024 presidential election". You can still go vote for governor, senator, district representative, local school board, mayor, etc. I live in Indiana too, so I completely feel you.

i dont vote in small elections either bc i know nothing about them. i dont know who those people are or when those elections happen. this is just the "big one" which made me want to speak on it. ive never heard that saying before, but it absolutely makes sense to me, i actually like it. its very true for me, i do vote w my heart. which is why i couldnt last time or this time. my channel is generally not controversial, i usually post about coffee and shopping and Halloween costumes, but i wanted to talk about my feelings today. im glad most people have been respectful with their responses, such as urs. i was worried tho. i almost didnt post it. but im glad i did. ❤️
