Why India SUCKS (The Truth!) 🇮🇳

After several weeks of travelling throughout "Incredible India", I was incredibly exhausted by the stress of daily life.
Whilst this country has given me some of the most incredible moments, and is undoubtedly home to some of the most incredible people on the planet, there is no denying that the less positive aspects have been equally intense.
In this video I simply picked up my camera to show you the reality of a simple walk to get coffee - something that we might otherwise take for granted anywhere else in the world.
I did not produce this for shock value, or indeed pick a rougher neighbourhood for effect (Chennai is one of the better places I have visited), but these are the things that led me to end my trip early and seek more dignified surroundings.
To the many educated Indians amongst you, I'm sure that you're as fed up as I am with these things. I am NOT discrediting the people (you deserve a lot better). But I expect that this will also attract comments from people who are emotionally invested in their country, and will deny (and in some cases, attack) any and all criticism.
Nothing that I say is untrue, and we should all accept that we are each entitled to our opinion, even though we may see things differently. This is very much my personal experience.
My hope is that I am able to inform fellow travellers who may be curious about visiting India, and to add to the chorus of those demanding change for a truly Incredible India.

@@Deira854bunch of lies . They have entire politics rejecting harmless Hindi and you are saying they are open minded . Truth be told Indian people need to develop the civic sense foremost. There are people who steal public property - lights, trash cans etc and there are others who litter everywhere despite the trash cans and attacked virushka for reprimanding the guy who was trashing the road as opposed to supporting them. @@sepoy5346 I have been to India many many times, I have an Indian wife and many good Indians as friends, but the truth is the truth... DLF cybercity is a bunch of offices run by private corporations, where people don't even live, same for aerocity. They are nice, but they are literally just office parks, not normal neighborhoods. Go into any government run neighborhood outside these areas and it's awful, poorly maintained, filled with trash. The rich areas are better obviously but compared to Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, not even close, despite the home prices being more expensive than most American cities.

I sincerely appreciate your honesty. Im an Indian-American who has been living in the United States my entire life. I have visited India back when I was 12 years old to see my Grandparents for 2 weeks. The experience was abysmal. Mind you that im now 24. I never went back to that country ever since. India has a wonderful culture with a rich history. India actually had 1/3 of the entire World GDP centuries ago. Now look at its condition. Extremely unsanitary, extreme corruption, full of scammers, zero Womens rights and horrible human rights records, incredible amounts of racism and casteism, super polluted, terrible entertainment industry, horrendous infrastructure, flawed education system, little job opportunities, and the list goes on. I feel horrible at times that India, once an evergreen nation, became reduced to this. Hope people understand.

if they would care they would have changed anything OR not even letting it get that bad. So fuck your family, if they see happiness in you staying in a bad life of no safety, filth and unhygenics, they dont love you anyways. Parents should always want the best for their children. Even if it means they have to suffer themselves.

Even a damn JAIL CELL has things over the country of India itself: -Bed -Toilet -3 Meals a Day Also does NOT help with the garbage EVERYWHERE. I go to the dump once in a blue moon and I can't stand it. I couldn't imagine being born and raised around it. Thank You, God, for letting me be Canadian.

@@VivekSingh-tj8qo It is called having an opinion. You don’t sound that pissed when someone has something nice to say for your country. He is calling a spade a spade. What constructive criticism do you expect from him?? Does he looks like he works in a recycling plant or waste management??. Seriously bro shut up. You are making yourself look bad.

Hey Mervin, you and your people are great, and amongst some of the most friendly, fun and hospitable that I have met on my travels. Your country has enormous potential and you will find Indians at the highest levels of the corporate ladder, and indeed noble professions such as healthcare and dentistry. Do not put yourself down, remain positive, and apply that great Indian charisma to overcome and get ahead in the world!

Hey ! Hopefully the authorities if they watch your video, will take it positively and clear the roads and stuff. And the uber/ola/rapido (for tuktuk, bike and car taxis) the companies take upto 30% commission. So these guys will pick the fare only if you pay extra 30-50rs which is yeah day light robbery LOL

Why do the rickshaws charge more and expect cash - when they don’t have the platform fees, and probably won’t declare their taxes? It should be at a discount!

@@InvestedAdventure Yea so when we pay via uber/ola in their app online, the companies hold their profit until the end of the day. But most tuk tuk people are daily wagers and they won't have cash to put petrol / gas. That's why they prefer cash. Makes sense in their pov right 😂
