The uproar from the United fanbase towards this sums up the issues they have as a club in the modern day. Constantly stuck in the past and trying to cling on to a previous era. Let’s face it, Ferguson’s “expertise” hasn’t exactly provided much value over the last decade has it? If it had, the club wouldn’t be in the current mess. Need to stop being so nostalgic and sentimental and start looking forward. The irony is that United fans always used to take swipes at Liverpool for clinging to their history when in reality they are a far more forward thinking club. Shankly and Paisley were also legendary figures, but they weren’t desperately trying to cling onto and/or replicate those eras, they let Klopp be his own man and write his own story. They’re now doing the same with Slot. Until United stop fixating on the 90s and 00s, which are long gone, they’ll never get into a forward thinking mindset.

Liverpool went 20 years without winning a league title and that title was presented in front of empty Anfield. Liverpool became a better run club under Klopp the very opposite of United under the clueless Glazers owners. It was a team that won the league by double digits... This "aging squad" narrative is ridiculous. The average age of the squad was 24 and the older players were already bit part players. Scholes made 8 starts and Giggs made 12, for example. The only two older players that really needed to be replaced quickly were Rio, who was in his mid to late 30's and had lost a yard but let's not pretend he was a weak point and Evra, who did need to be moved on within 12-18 months as he was in decline. Rooney was 27, which should be his prime, RVP was 29 and still had another couple of seasons before he'd fall off entirely (he was never about pace). The squad was solid, the man that came in just fumbled it hard and then LVG wanted to play an entirely different way, which made half of them surplus.

There are 5 Ten Hag acolytes from Ajax, plus a couple more dutch players from other Eredivisie clubs and Christian Erickson who came up through the Ajax youth system before joining Tottenham. The club is built in Ten Hag's image. This isn't a squad that needs surgery... This is a squad that needs a full rebuild.

The stadium is full of holes and falling apart, what sense does it make to give an 83 year old man a no show £2m a year job? The list of legends Fergie cut loose when they got older is so long it could fill a book.

What happen after every 3years at United is sack the manager, this can work for certain clubs and some club this is not what is needed. I will give 2 more years and. See what will happen.
