Why Inside out 2 is a skippable movie

Come along as we dive into our reasoning behind why Pixar's latest film is unfortunately a skippable movie. There are some good parts, alot of bad parts, some laughs, and some questionable choices. Does this film deserve this kind of critique? Or are we being to harsh on a movie that had big shoes to fill?

For me I liked the movie, especially with the ending. As someone who’s had multiple anxiety attacks, it really hit home with how it feels when I have one. I almost cried at that moment.

I am a strong supporter of Disney and the middle finger they are giving to Ron Desantis. But i do want for them to put out quality movies like Pixar is known for. I am not saying that Inside out 2 is bad. I just know that it could of been much better. But i will still support them by re-watching the movie on Disney Plus.

I wouldn't say that they should revisit old ideas. But the inclusion of beloved characters even in a small manner should be a point of interest. As well as my main issue was with all of the retcon's that had occurred. I loved the concept of newer emotions and how that would impact riley, but that shouldn't come at the cost of altering the story that we already know. But thank you for Commenting!

- sequels that rely on old plot points are bad sequels - why tf don't you like cars 2? definitely in the top 10 sequels ever made tbh, let alone disney - always attend theaters. support local businesses my guy

Thank you for commenting! I wouldn't say that sequels should rely on old plot points, but they shouldn't retcon plot points that have already been established in its universe. That is one of my biggest issues. I didn't like cars 2 because to me it was a poorly written cash grab by the studio. I would rather take cars 3 over cars 2. And we do always attend theaters, however most of our theaters are not local businesses but are owned by regal, Who has bought out 80% of the theaters in our area. But i am a big supporter of keeping theaters alive, i just think this is more of a movie to watch on my couch versus in a movie theater.

I personally have mixed feelings about this movie. I love the new emotions, especially Ennui, however I did find myself being mostly uninterested in what was going on with the emotions from the first movie, except for when Sadness got put back in HQ. But the interactions between Joy and Anxiety were extremely compelling and made the movie an overall success imo. Strong 8/10.

I feel like not focusing on the whole dump thing was a good decision cuz why even? The new movie focused on newer concepts and parts cuz why just spend the entire movie revisiting old stuff that the audience already knows about. Also getting rid of bing bong is just realistic, children get rid of their imaginary friends as they mature

actually i agree- after the movie ended me and 4 of my friends all collectively were like "oh shoot it ends there?" like it felt so rushed at some parts ngl ALSO- they set up so many potential plot points at the beginning (such as how family island has gotten a lot smaller) and they never really do anything with it.. ignore the hate bro 💀
