Whatever will be the consequences of being an IPS officer be, I will always prefer IPS because i have sufficient honest reason to justify my choice. From my childhood i had a dream of joining Indian armed forces and even i prepared for NDA but i was medically unfit. So, since my childhood i has a temperament like an armed forces .As an IPS officer i will get an opportunity to deal with naxalites,maoist and other security related issue which i had always preferred .As a senior IAS officer one can become Cabinet Secretary but i will like to become Director or Secretary of IB,RAW,CBI,SPG,NSG,CISF,BSF,CRPF. And what will be that moment when i will sacrifice my life fighting for my nation which i had dreamt of since my childhood. So one and only IPS .Jai HIND.🇮🇳

Jo standards set kr diye hain Ajit Doval Sir ne wo koi IFS nahi set kr skta isliye ab NSA ek IPS he bnega. Aur bhale retirement ke baad bane, Cabinet Secretary se har maamle mein uper hota h NSA. Secretary, end reporting इन चीजों में वो मजा नही है जो यूनिफॉर्म सर्विस में , NIA, CBI , IB , RAW , BSF , CRPF , CISF, CAPF, SPG जैसी services में काम करने का है । और यहां बात आपने उन लोगोंकी कही है जिनको IPS मिली है , ना की जिन्होंने IPS खुद चुनी है । ये service कर पाना भी हर किसी के बस की बात नही होती । और बहुत सारे ऐसे IPS Officers है जिन्हे top rank पे IAS मिलती थी फिर भी नही ली । इसीलिए अपनी पसंद तो अपनी पसंद होती है।

In my opinion even though an IAS officer gets promotions, slightly larger pay scale than IPS officers, IAS officer cant be on the ground frontierly leading when it comes to the maintenance of law and order in the society. It ain't a joke to control the law and order situation at ground level. Especially in my opinion one should have an attitude and passion when it comes to becoming an IPS officer. Although there might be an upper hand on him of IAS officer but the power of IPS cant be underestimated. The situation in the theoretical books and actual ones are diffrent. Sometimes the rules from rulebook doesn't apply on the situation. The IPS officer sense the ground reality better than any administrative officers when it comes to law and order. You join any service there will be political, superior, social pressure will be always there but the one who stood as a firm wall despite of these pressures is what makes a good bureaucrat. There are several examples of IPS officers who are doing their jobs well and are earning the respect. In the end before preparing for any civil service exam one should have the clear vision and motive to be in civil service otherwise it will be difficult to thrive in the administration.

People who are interested in security segments, investigations, insurgencies etc should aim for IPS , IAS is for sure THE service among All India Services but never a match to a Uniform Service. For example becoming chief of NIA, RAW, CBI, IB, BSF, ITBP, CRPF,etc... is better for some people rather than ending up as Sec.., to Mo Agri, Jal Shakti,etc. Logically all ips report to Sec of MoHA but the NSA is IPS., and some states like Karnataka etc started appointing IPS officers as Sec to the MoHA. Since we are heading in to the times where security at all stages like cyber, border , Internal, External etc are at a stake and therefore Security Bureaucracy need to get strengthen to tackle all this. The IPS need to be at par with IAS , people who take this service as an alternative option to IAS need to be regulated and may be directed to other services like Railway Service, Information Services etc . since training and making of IPS officer is tough and long process and for people to whom this services is just an option need not get into this and waste time and resources of NPA while people who are dedicated to become IPS need to be encouraged.

Ek case mai jaanta hun mere papa ke friend ke bete ka Indian Revenue Service mein hua tha aur Inspector ne likh diya tha "Social Character is suspected". Ek saal late shuru hui thi us ldke ki training. Ek saal laga tha manage krne mein usko khud ko. Toh bhai, itna aasan na lo cheezon ko.

If u an IPS officer, so you don't need to resign from job to become IAS. Resign condition only for IAS and IFS officer.

But some resign. The reason is the vigourous training at National Police Academy. Moreover you have to pass the exams also at NPA. Along with tough physical training and exams, one cant focus on CSE. So a few of them resign.

Ap ekdum sahi hain. Prefer IPS over IAS. Aane waale samai mein IAS abolish kr diya jaayega. Aazadi ke 75 saal hone waale hain aur ye IAS ki servie useless rahi hai desh ke liye. Dheere dheere baaki har service ka upgradation ho raha h lekin IAS ko degrade kr rahe hain ab. Aane waale 10-15 saalon mein IAS bhtt down pd jaayega. Ab waqt IPS aur IRS ka hone waala h sbe zyada.

Dont rethink on being an IPS officer friend, the uniform service is legit over any service. If you are thinking about fame and money before being an IPS officer then my friend you should think about it again. You will definitely earn money no doubt in that but the satisfaction and respect you will earn is immense and uncomparable. When you will help any poor, needy or socially oppressed person by standing behind their back, you will be having a sense of satisfaction. There will be ups and down while serving but one should stand firmly against those challenges it will make you psychologically stronger to face the life problems. Life is not gonna easy even if you become an IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS officer but what matters is the attitude and perspective. You should have your motives clear first brother before coming in civil services.

No one is a chamcha. Everyone has their own bosses and political leaders are the head all over the world not just in India. Becoming ias and ipS is not at all easy. You have to pass the toughest exam of India and the world's third toughest exam which is UPSC.... So becoming a chamcha is better. Atleast these officers does lead a life full of facilities in which they serve their government and ministers.

IAS earns from contracts, tenders and has much wider scope of work with almost all departments. IPS has much lesser domain including crime, law and Order, security, terrorism and Naxalism and very less scope from contracts and tenders.

But some resign. The reason is the vigourous training at National Police Academy. Moreover you have to pass the exams also at NPA. Along with tough physical training and exams, one cant focus on CSE. So a few of them resign.
