Why is Dota 2 more prioritized than Team Fortress 2?

Valve needs to understand that even if TF2 won’t make as much money as Dota, the profit margin of putting like 4 devs would be insane. Paying 4 devs to periodically update tf2 would give tf2 a gargantuan profit margin

The problem is that TF2 is already making a lot of money. People are still buying cases, keys, taunts, and other stuff from the store. Valve is so shortsighted that they can't see past the initial cost of hiring developers to see the potential returns in growing the game. Also there aren't many people willing to work on the source spaghetti monster.

Those were really plausible reasons , tho I wonder what made dota 2 so successful ? What does dota 2 have that tf2 doesnt ? I can only think about dota being more additive and yeah more updated . Tho I would have liked it to be more lively as tf2 in terms of content . And on yt the only things you can enjoy about it are the SFMs.

I mainly play dota, but also play other valve games including CS and TF2 not so much tho. If you realize, the dota do have constant updates its not an content updates. What dota 2 get is a constant patches but rarely new content, even that example that you showed us not a proper "content" because all it did just gave us a chest that need a paid key to open it, no event game mode no anything. There is reason why TF2 and CS dont have the same amount of update, and is as simple as the game already close to perfection, why would TF2 need an update ? Patches, or anything that can change the class ? All 9 classes are perfect for casuals and Hardcore player can bring the class potential to the limit Rocket Jumping, and trickstab for instances. I dont play TF2 enough so i cant say much about it but I would not be happy if there is any change to the class, just like what valve said "Why fix it if its not broken ?".

I've played TF2 for over 9 years and the classes are far from perfect, even for casual players. Spy is unplayable by all means, sniper is overpowered. TF2's also got a bot problem and needs to be ported to source 2. I understand that you don't consider dota as a game with constant content updates, but this was the first year that didn't have an "event". And this also has an explanation, they were focused more on the qol and behavioral part of dota which severely lacked since 2019. Dota 2 is also my most played game, spanning over 7.5k hours in this game and I preferred getting no events while getting updates to improve the game because this game really needed them. I think dota is going to get an event soon though, I can feel it, but if not, well time to riot, the last one was diretide probably and a lot of time has passed since then.

@@dragostym I said the classes are perfect not literally, Im just saying itwas in the perfect spot and will ever be. You might say sniper is overpowered, but the most played class is not even him, and you said Spy is unplayable but he is one of the most iconic class the game has, well you can argue with something like not everyone love sniping or something like that, but isnt that the beauty of casual TF2 ? You can play what you want and how you want and it works. Well we might simply have difference perspective on how we viewed TF2 as a game, i find it as a simple casual game that is already perfected, is the only fps game that i can just hop on and chill for a few hours and dip, without affecting my mental health like dota 2 does. But I still stand on my point, I genuinely think that the game doesnt need any patch to change any of the classes. Content on the other hand ? That is differnet story because we know that valve is not really a company that love to make new content every season like other companies. Even dota "Content" like BP or New gamemode come once in a year in the past and its just a recycle of previous year, and last year there was nothing like that.

A sniper literally one-shotting any class in TF2 in 4 seconds is a bit too op and ye it is casual, but no way people want to get one shot by a relatively decent sniper. Sniper does not take as much skill as it used to, while Spy is unplayable in normal play, the only map where spy is somehow playable by a decent player is 2fort probably, where the awareness of the average player is reduced to 0. Also Spy is iconic because of his character, his gameplay just amplifies it(or at least it used to back when he was good).Spy is probably one of the least played classes by ppl with at least 200 hours in TF2. Sniper might not be as played as engie/soldier, which are most likely the most played classes in tf2, since no one loves staying in one place for 20 minutes, but there is no denying that people want something to change. And ye Sniper is not the most played, but which hero is the most played in Dota 2? Pudge. Which is arguably one of the worst heroes since 2020(excluding the carry pudge meta), yet he is the most iconic dota hero ever by far. People can "somehow" play Dota "casually" too, but did they like the Sven superman patch? no. This game needs a gameplay fix, there are also weapons that need to be fixed because they are not even close to being viable(Righteous Bison). Everything mostly works if you are lucky to get a lobby with people that have got no clue on how to play, which 2fort mostly has , but in most maps it will be terrible and you'll either just die or stand still. I understand that you think the game doesn't need a fix and I don't blame you because you probably don't play TF that much or as you said you just play it in a casual matter, which I also do, but the spy/sniper dilemma was just an example, there are so many things that are currently wrong(like half the medic primaries being terrible, heavy being.... heavy..., the caber being useless and so on)

No offense to any Dota 2/Counter-Strike players, but both of those games are so dang boring! Team Fortress 2 is 10 times better than those two combined! TF2 deserves more updates, attention and Spaghetti code fixes!
