the ipad 9th gen was the only one i could afford, and it's actually been a blessing to me. the presence of the headphone jack gives me the choice to listen using either wired headphones or with the airpods. as for the apple pencil: although it's not as convenient as magnetic charging, all i gotta do is just plug the pencil straight into the port instead of having to use the usb-c adapter (which is the case with ipad 10th gen). not to mention, it can still be updated. worth the money, actually.

I bought a 9 because I use wired headphones, I like the home button, and it runs everything I need. I even like the bigger bezels as it gives me more room to hold it securely. The USB would be nice, but I don’t need it.

I had the iPad 9. It was a very solid tablet. Great for media consumption and light video and photo editing. I recently got a Galaxy Tab S9 for a change as it was on sale plus I’m trading in another device.

Amazon had the 9 for $199, BUT the 10 was $259! There is a display difference is better on the 10. It has a Liquid Crystal Display vs the 9 which has the Retina Display. The 10 has better speakers, USB-C, Bigger Display ( 10.9 ) and the A-14 chip vs the A-13 on the 9. so for $59 more, I bought the 10! 😎 Don’t get me wrong though, the iPad 9 is definitely the BEST Classic iPad ever made! 👍

@@quokka7555 this is incorrect. It may use LEDs in the backlight, but it is in fact a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). OLED screens don't need a backlight, but LCDs do, hence why the iPad 10 has a backlight. They started marketing them as Liquid Retina for the XR and 11 phones as well, and they are definitely LCD displays.

I got the iPad 9 back when it was the newest version of the base model, and it’s still my go to device for notetaking and study work. And it’s an amazing content machine. At the time, it was already one of the best deals in tech… and now that it’s even less expensive… yeah that’s some real value there. Although it’s more of a pain to get Paperlike screen protectors than it used to be… but it’s still possible so it’s still worth it for artist and notetakers should they want a more affordable option.

The iPad 9th generation since 2022, and I keep saying that I’m going to upgrade, but it just keeps giving me no reason to. I don’t use it for work or video editing, I just use it for watching videos, online shopping, reading books, notes, and list making. For anything more complicated I use my MBA. It’s a great tablet.

I just bought an ipad air 2 (2014) for $80. Even though its 10 years old so far its been great. Its my first ipad and I kinda like the design over the newer ipads. I like the placement of the touch ID button as I'd rather use my thumbs to unlock the device like I do with my phone. I like how thin and lightweight it is but still feels very premium. I've watched some video's of different versions of ipads and now im thinking I should've gotten the ipad pro 12.9" (2017). That one looks like a beast of a device 😂. I'll stick with the air 2 for now though.

I just purchased the iPad Pro 10.5 from 2017 with cellular data 512gb rose gold $193 I h@ve to use it as a giant phone right now with google voice because my 11 pro max can’t charge without a wireless charger and that’s very inconvenient right now. I got iPad OS 17 upon first boot so that was cool obviously that’s the last one that it will receive outside security updates it’s buggy the battery does what it wants but idk I love this thing I almost want to get another one but I need to go back to a phone soon been an interesting experience.

In November I purchased 9 gen i have options i could buy 10 gen my brother also saying to buy 10 gen but I prefer 9 gen because of that 3.5mm jack and home button and i dont think to give more money for 1 year extra update and type c ports and A13 and A14 Bionic chips are typically similar there is no major difference also after listening the issues in iPhone 12 that it is lagging too much in 2021-2023 the faith in this process is not at that much and also personally I don’t think to upgrade from 9 gen to 10 gen or give extra money for 10 gen these two ipads have same experience in my opinion but for some people speakers are more important but for gamers 3.5 mm jack is a mendatory thing in 10 gen there is high latency in bluetooth mode

I bought a 9 this summer because it is powerful enough for browsing, word processing, a bit of Netflix and streaming. I was also on a budget and tablets with 50-100 $ less actually were awful and didn't worth the money. iPadOS 18 update is also surprisingly good. touchid is also better in my opinion than faceid

I think it’s the Home screen button and headphone jack. You save $60 to $100 so you pay less as well. A lot of users the iPad 9th generation is fine. Until people have to get upgrade they won’t. Also on sale for $200 so people impulse purchase it.

No, trust me, it’s not going to be better than the budget Galaxy Tabs. This one only has 3GB of RAM. Even my iPad 10th gen, with 4GB of RAM, often reloads pages if I open multiple tabs in Safari. So, the difference in RAM really does matter. Plus, this one only has 64GB of storage. Processing power isn’t everything, RAM and storage play a huge role too

The truth is screen quality. I have the a7 lite and the a9 and a9 plus. I’ll use the iPad Pro 9.7 screen over those two any day to watch movies. I like the Samsungs but it’s hard to beat the iPads screens.

If you can get a good deal on iPad 10 then it probably would make sense to go for this instead of the 9th gen. More RAM, faster processor, updated WiFi, more modern look (although not important to everyone), and a device that will have longer support. In some cases it may only be a $50-60 difference (or even less) if you can get the right deal.

My mom broke her iPad Air 3. As she's a basic user, her needs are not very demanding. I opted for the most affordable option available, so the iPad 9 should suffice for now. Essentially, the iPad 9 mirrors the iPad Air she had, with Touch ID and 64GB of storage. There's no point in paying extra for the newer design and features of the 10th generation if she doesn't care for or need them.

Im not sure why apple still use non laminated displays in iPads when everyone else stopped using the over a decade ago now and the last iPhone to have a non laminated display was the iPhone 3GS back in 2009.

It's straightforward; Apple aims for profit. As long as it's feasible, they'll keep selling products with substantial profit margins even it's older tech that we as techies would never buy. It might be the older demographic. My mom falls into the senior citizen category. She's content as long as she can play her mobile games. Many who aren't tech-savvy are satisfied with a device that allows them to watch videos, check emails, and play games. This is also why budget devices, such as Amazon Fire tablets, are popular. There is no point of me paying more for features my mom doesn't care about.

64 GB in 2024 doesnt make any sense even if you want to buy it for cheap. If you dont want to install more than 10 apps, and only work with note taking, yet its good tablet. But if you want it for content consumption, you need to buy some external storage/memory card. And Games is no no because it doesnt have much storage

You don't need very fast latest Ipads/Iphone, IOS is a locked system (wallgarden) that faster chip doesn't matter anymore. Although the only innovation Apple does is creating powerful chips, but still can't do anything with a very limited OS/IOS. Very 🤡 in my opinion. 🤣 Just buy the 4-5yr old releases and it still will have the same (unnoticeable milisecond difference) performance experience.

My ipad 9th gen is the most trashy ipad i think i got the knockoff version or refurbished one i dont know but i play Last island of survival and the game cannot load if there is big bases nearby and crashes and it wont log back in the server i dont know what to do it was a terrible idea to purchase it and it was not cheap for me…im never ever using an ios product ever again…
