Portugal has great food. Here in the north there is a meat culture and the quality in most of the restaurants is sublime.

Every other nation’s food is better than the food in the states. 80% is basically high fructose corn syrup…crazy to think about it.

In Portugal my favorites are the meats, pastries and bread. In the US it's Mexican food. We've lived the the US Southwest for many years with incredible Mexican food. We're moving to Portugal in February so we'll have to grow the chilies and other ingredients that we'll need to make our own Mexican favorites.

Yes, the US food is substandard quality due to GMO and FDA corrupt to the bones. Besides in US there is no culinary culture. I would not praise the EU either because they are also very corrupt. The EU doesn't allow tho grow GMO but they let that garbage into the EU. There is no doubt about the food quality in PT. My only complain about the food in PT is the salt phobia. I had to salt everything and I'm not sure if because of the stupid EU regulations or generally Portuguese are afraid of salt?

It’s easier/better for you to adjust the salt in your plate, than to be served an over salted dish? Would you agree?! Just a thought

Better the EU regulations than having food too salty or excessively sugary, I think. It wasn't much difficult for you to add the salt at your convenience was it?
@starchild8906 күн бұрын
@@dsolangem I actually disagree because when you have to salt your food then you end up having more than when the food is salted properly. I use 1.6-2% salt, depending on cooked or baked and nobody ever complained about my food being too salty.

@@mariam.3224 Between the two evil I guess the EU is better, however, they also let way too many Exxx substances, meaning preservatives and colorants. It wasn't difficult to add salt but food doesn't taste the same when you after salt it, besides you will end up with more salt than what you need. I don't understand what would be wrong with properly salted food?
