He has photos of various BBC top knobs in compromising positions, that's the only explanation. Gary brings nothing to the BBC that a younger and cheaper presenter can. A million and a half a year for a TV highlights show? Did Des Lynam or Jimmy Hill get paid so extravagantly?

I take it you're fine with the Govt wasting billions of our money on sending a couple of hundred immigrants to Rwanda and putting a few hundred more on a prison hulk as a poor substitute for a proper immigration system? It would cost far, far less to staff the Home Office with enough sufficiently trained officers to provide safe, legal routes and determine asylum cases in a timely manner, but they're not actually bothered about bringing down the numbers or improving the quality of those who.comenhere, just lazy, performative headline grabbing that satisfies the weird fetish that a lot of British people seem to have for being as nasty as possible to brown people. I can't stand Lineker and think he's grossly overpaid from money demanded with menaces from the poorest in our society, but he's right on this - aside from trashing our hard-earned internstional reputation as a bastion of fairness and human rights, Rwanda and Bibby Stockholm are appalling value for money and won't work. I wish people could see beyond their hatred of immigrants and understand this.

But Gary is the Director General of the BBC, didn't you get the memo? Gary can say whatever he wants without restriction unlike other BBC employees. He must be in charge - nobody would be paid £1.35 million just to comment on a football match every week - that would be insane. He is paid this vast sum to run the BBC. He will be given a knighthood very shortly and can be "Sir Gary" in recognition of his brilliance in running the BBC. (Into the ground, I might add.)

A classic case of one rule for the many and another for the few. This has been happening since time immemorial, and always will. My reaction to Lineker's latest "tweet" was the same as it is for those from all "celebrities", i.e. why should anyone care what they think, simply because they are in the public eye?

The British Biased Corporation need Lineker more than Lineker needs them. He will continue to voice his lefty leanings on SM and the spineless British Biased Corporation will turn a blind eye to it, as they always do. I seem to recall when the brilliant Kenny Everett had his radio show on the British Biased Corporation he said something on air, which they didn't like. The British Biased Corporation's response - he was sacked with immediate effect. Double standards indeed, Lineker can say what he likes with impunity.

If the UK is such a right-wing country (as I am constantly being told that it is, that the 'silent majority' / the 'real working class' support ever harsher clampdowns on immigration, welfare, trans issues, protest etc), then how are Labour so far ahead in the polls? Something not adding up here.
@englishciderlover7347
@englishciderlover7347 8 ай бұрын
@@rich_edwards79 It's more a case of people switching back to Labour without thinking of the consequences for the working class of more immigration and so on. For the most part, people vote the way they and their ancestors have voted for generations. The parties, especially Labour, take advantage of that blind loyalty.

They do when you SIGN a contract with them. Also if you are in the creative sector or educational sectors, any ideas or products you come up with, are owned by the company employing you! Some jobs even have clauses in them that prevent you working on the same type of work for a number of years, even after your employment is terminated with the company. There are also non disclosure agreements preventing you from talking about what you do for work.
