I had a beloved Maine Coon for 17 years, a model of gentle, loving propriety. After he passed, I did my civic duty and adopted a young male shelter cat who likely was feral for a time. My world and my home changed forever, not always in a good way. He’s coming around a bit after 2 long years and I will remain committed to his shelter and care.

he definitely loves you, feral cats are hard to tame but it is possible, theyre just hard to work with, a couple of videos I've seen it took a year or two to get them "tame" like a housecat but they did it:))

My adorable sweet dispositioned kitty woke me one night about 4 am. Sounded like demon aliens were trying to get in the house. Staggered out to the sunroom where my cat was emitting horrible growls and body slamming against the door because….. another cat was audaciously sleeping on the deck!!! Took some time for either of us to calm down. Sheesh.

I empathize with the last cartoon with the bats. We grew up in the country and once a bat made it into my sisters’ and my bedroom. Also, I worked at a school once where a bat made it first into the elevator shaft and then into a classroom (thankfully it was after school).

I had it happen to me on Halloween! I lived in Panama (military kid) and was washing dishes at the time. It was a 2 story house, and my mom was taking a bath (which was right above the sink, so I was hearing her moving around, reaching for water, that sort of thing). I was always slow washing dishes (I mean, it was a family of 5), so I'm just washing away, periodically being distracted by the sound of my mom in the tub. Until I realized that she had already let the water out! I looked behind me, and there was a great big bat flying around 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 It was at least a 4 foot wingspan! There was this back door in the kitchen, and a vent with slats. This bat got lost and probably thought he found a cool cave😁 Anyway, I scream and tell my mom. She thought I was trying to get out of the dishes and tried to send me back. I was too scared (I was about 8). So she brings me back to the kitchen, to see the bat! She shoves me and my brothers into a closet and unsuccessfully tried to remove it. It's just flying around, scared and confused 🦇🦇🦇 So she calls animal control. On Halloween. About a bat😂 They kept not believing her. My stepdad was at work for some reason (it was evening, which wasn't a shift he worked). My mom called him after being hung up on 3xs. He threatens the animal control people, and they finally come, rolling their eyes. Until they came in and got scared by the bat🤣🤣🤣 So then they were dodging and whacking at the bat with a broom, until it finally escaped! Poor bat! 🦇 I don't believe it was harmed, but I was both a kid and hidden away somewhere. But I do know it flew away👍

I'm not really great holding little things like birds (Idky, it creeps me out), but I certainly don't want to injure them. We didn't know better then (lol, I'm old now😂).
