Yes some of us really do need to wash our hair often!!! Thank you for mentioning this Felicia!! I have thin hair with an oily scalp and my hair definitely has to be washed pretty much everyday. And it gets annoying when people keep attacking on the you need to wash it less to help go longer. Like no I’ve tried it is not for my hair/scalp type! Plus I’m having hair fall out from telogen effluvium, I truly think if I wash my hair more it’ll probably help. I’ve been doing every other day since I’m home typically but since it does still get oily I’m gonna go back to everyday washing to help!

I agree with you! I tried to do the no poo method many times and it only caused my hair to fall out more! I still get shame speech from people who don't wash their hair every day and that I need to train my scalp - I tell them no, it's not worth my hair loss LOL also....I have bad allergies during allergy season. I used to wake up feeling sick every morning (like I had a bad head cold, puffy eyes). My doctor said I was basically sleeping in pollen and dust in my hair so I needed to wash it every day.
@Riss83682 жыл бұрын
@@cristyx8790 it’s so hilarious to me that out of all things in this world people are really choosing to attack and bully people over how THEY wash their OWN hair lmao like there’s so many more important things going on in the world and my hair does not affect you 😅 Omg having the pollen in your hair makes sense! Every time you go outside it’s just collecting in your hair and if you have major allergies then yeah definitely have to wash often! Since my hair is trauma stress related hair fallout currently if I don’t wash everyday because it’s thinned so much my oils collect more on my scalp currently and so then my scalp and follicles risk being clogged and just gross which would just make it fall out more and give no healthy availability to grow ya know? So we’re team wash everyday over here! I feel you girl!
@cristyx87902 жыл бұрын
@@Riss8368 I don't really get bullied too much on it but I get annoyed when told that I take care of my hair the "wrong way". I'm not using shit products on my hair so I think people automatically assume I'm doing damage with my hair. I agree with you on the part where my scalp gets oily, my hair also falls out much more. For me, Formula 18 shampoo and the Maya Chia hair serum has prevented less hair fallout. However, I am looking for other budget friendly alternatives in the future once I run out.
@Riss83682 жыл бұрын
@@cristyx8790 I don’t get bullied for it either but I’ve seen it a bit on some tiktok comments! And yes I agree like I promise I’m not damaging my hair lol. Like I was too tired and went an extra day without washing and geez I had a lot of fallout as well as my scalp was being so irritated. Ooo I’m definitely gonna have to look up that shampoo! To see about it. I’ve tried countless things trying to just lessen my fall out just a little bit as I know the way it’s falling out I just have to wait but any little help I’ll take so for sure gonna search that up! I’m currently using a super gentle/comforting baby shampoo 😅 lol it’s nice and has helped calmed my scalp. I’ve tried a lot of adult shampoos the past few months and they just seemed to always irritate or give me way more fall out, it’s so strange

This was helpful but it'd be really nice to have a full video on the reason why hair falls out in the first place. Usually hair loss is a result of something going on internally so it's important to treat the source rather than just the symptom. Also the products seem nice but I'm skeptical to try them because there was no before vs. after result. After trying so many products on the market, it's hard to trust which ones are worth the try. But overall, thanks for covering this topic!!

I’ve used the Naturium Glycolic Acid Essence on my scalp for a little over a year and love it! I have an oily scalp and get a lot of dandruff when I don’t use the right shampoo, and I swear exfoliating your scalp helps so much! I didn’t think I would use the bottle quick enough as just a face product so that’s why I started using it for my hair. The Ordinary one would probably be better because of the nozzle lid. Game changer!

My favorite hair products used to be the Bumble and Bumble hairdresser’s oil line and while it still holds a place in my heart for some of the leave in products, ive almost fully switched to Gishou… the hair mask is unmatched and i love the honey hair serum-oil! That oil plus their hair priming lotion and sea salt spray are the only three things i use on my hair after a shower (that list used to be much linger but i realized it weighed my hair down so much… id be washing my hair way too often)

When it comes to self care, our scalp and hair are the few parts of our body that aren't taken care of as well as our face. I immediately clicked on this video and I'm already enjoying the discussion! Definitely will incorporate one or two of the tips in this video into my hair routine. :)

I'm someone with afro textured hair and as a black girl i have the opposite issue. My scalp get super dry so I have to put oil on my scalp to seal in the moisture. My routine is usually using a spray bottle with water and some peppermint oil and then rubbing it in then using a hail oil on my scalp. I've had a lot of issues with my scalp for years and i've started having hair loss but I think I've seen some small success. I use curlsmith's products and the formula for those can be used by anyone since its non greasy feels like water but I've been trying to experiment with products that have like rednynsil and also natural ingredients but I wanted to check out this video to see if there were any cool products I could use. I definintely want to try the shampoo from 107 and the tonic from pyung kang yul but with the tonic I'm wondering if its drying since one of the first ingredients is alcohol denat. But for anyone suffering hairloss there are lots of videos by indians and other black people where some have really managed to find a solution. I think everyone can benefit from hot oil treatments. There are also some really good affordable hair masks with natural ingredients. Just sharing some info I've collected over the years. I know hairloss is a sensitive topic and its hard to go through it and I'm glad the beauty world is making more effort to create products like these

One time the dermatologist told me that when your scalp smell like “cheese” is called seborreic dermatitis and you have to use some shampoos like Netrogena T or some with zinc. Also stop coffee and soda and chocolate and all does has colorants.

Also be careful about using products with hydrolyzed rice, wheat, quinoa etc. as it's keratin and its not necessary to use keratin UNLESS u have lightened or permed/relaxed your hair. If u haven't depleted the hair of it's protein (keratin), u don't need it. Keratin can actually cause breakage more from overproteinized hair.

I caught Covid from a coworker in January of 2021 and all of the sudden my scalp was so itchy and dry! I even joked with my mom, "wtf? Did she give me lice too???" LOL! My mom said, 'look up dry, itchy scalp from Covid." I did and yes it's a longterm side effect from Covid. I have dry skin and hair and I used to only wash my hair once every 7 days or so, now I have to wash it once every 2 days. It sucks! About 5,6 years ago I made the mistake of using Wen and I lost over half my hair. The silicone builds up in the hair follicles and without sulfates they get more and more clogged causing massive hairloss. I thank Davines Nounou line for bringing my hair's density and texture back to life from that🙏🙏🙏

Yes, I got Covid in Nov. 2020 and have experienced far more shedding ever since! (along with awful digestive issues that were somewhat remedied with probiotics). But I continue to have thinner hair and greater hair loss. My hairdresser said many clients experienced the same after having Covid.

My hairdresser has told me in the past that keeping my long hair can also cause hair loss as well, due to the weight of the hair. Not sure how much of that is true but I did cut my hair, to test the theory and I would lose less hair strands than I did with my long hair. Do you know if caffeine is in any of the ingredients to the hair loss products you’ve shown?? I hear caffeine helps with hair loss. Just an FYI, I loss more volume and hair after pregnancy.
