I think a lot of people assume the rust preservative is "oil" which is wrong. The preservative gels, gets sticky and impedes operation. I tell all my customers to completely clean their new weapons and use a REAL gun oil for lubrication during break in. Also, the Benelli M2 extractor & spring are a great fix for the M3000 with marginal ammo - I compete in 3-gun with the M3K.

Good to know. I sent mine back after 140 rounds of consistent failure to extract and not cycling. Stoeger found nothing wrong. After a thorough cleaning and lubricating I put another 200 rounds thru and it’s getting better but no cigar yet. Maybe switching out for Benelli parts will be my next plan. Thanks for the info

I’ve shot exclusively Benelli semiautomatic shotguns the last 30 years. Biggest issue I’d have was slow action especially in the cold. It took me ten years but the First thing I learned is the Benelli oil that comes with the gun is no good for a lubricant. Take your Benelli and thoroughly scrub the action inside and out getting all. your old oil residue off the gun. Use warm water, Dawn dishwashing soap and a toothbrush and scrub thoroughly. Once everything is cleaned and completely dried reassemble and lube with only FP10 lubricant. I read that the military uses this when in arctic conditions on their AR’s. It’s cured all my cycling issues and I think I’ve owned nearly a dozen Benelli’s now. I’ve even taken quite a few of my friends Benelli’s after they where getting frustrated with their guns. They assured me they were clean. I’d say I doubt it and take the gun and clean and lube it like above. They can’t believe how much oil residue and dirt I get off the gun and how it resurrected their guns and made them cycle so much better and far more reliable.

I've seen way too many of these videos. Everybody should know by now that when you buy a new gun. Strip it down Queen and lube it. It seems like most people think that slime they see is a lubricant. It's not it's a rust prohibitor for long term storage.

If your jamming alot even after cleaning well, then replace the extractor and ejector and their springs. If you shoot alot they do wear out.

What you noticed on the magazine tube from the factory is not lube at all. It is basically packing grease used to prevent rusting. The bolt, magazine tube, and general internals will have this heavy grease as the manufacturers don't know hoe long the guns will sit before being sold and in what conditions they will be stored in. No matter what type of firearm or brand the first thing anybody who purchases a gun should do is break it down and clean all the grease off of it and lube the firearm. This is not a Stoeger issue this is user error and actually happens to the most expensive guns also.

Sometimes cheap shells have dirty burning powder & isn't worth the money. Also just use a tiny bit of that white lithium grease in the grooves of the bolt & a very thin layer of this grease on your finger tip & thumb just to rub it on the internal & external parts like the springs, barrel etc. to keep them from rusting works well? Cheap powder & lube can make mud inside the gun really fast.

I've done this fix and its been flawless ever since. To be honest I only changed the extractor and left the original spring because I wanted to test it. @DropEmOutdoors

@@DropEmOutdoors ya but there is supposed to be a retainer holding that spring in, yours is either missing or lost, that mag tube spring shouldn't come flying out just because u take the cap off. Look at any cleaning video for any shotgun, pump action, semi auto m3000 doesn't matter. U never see that. That is not normal and not only that but your spring is damaged, it shouldn't be all bent like that

@@DropEmOutdoors think about when u put your 3round limiter in, u unscrew the cap, drop the limiter in and screw the cap right back on. Only takes a few seconds, no spring comes flying out. The plug's thin end passes thru the center of the mag tube while the broad end rests against the retainer. I'm surprised your gun feeds at all how it is. I actually ended up letting it go. Beforehand I'd gotten the low recoil spring. I ran into a great deal on a KSG, and sold my stogey to help fund the $650 I paid for the Kel Tek. I couldn't pass on that deal, and it'll shoot anything I throw in it..... 15 times lol. My wife however misses the m3000. Tbh if I go out for a longer session using anything #2 or bigger, I do too. The Stoeger was a joy to shoot. The KSG with bigger loads can make ya flinch, anticipating that punch in the shoulder. Regular practice is essential to prevent that. Not gonna lie, miss my stogey :( I'd buy it again for sure.
