This plane is criminally underrated/ignored, it's actually quite good, surprisingly nimble, pretty durable, fatty load of countermeasures, 6x r60m + gunpoda, I love it.

It also solves one of my biggest issues with the SU22M3 in that you cant take the gunpods without losing a pylon of 2xR60

I unlocked Mig-27M,Mig-23M/MLD with Su-17M2 when M4 hasn't come out yet, and I like it so much, the flight performance feels even better than MLD. In a dogfight, I could just sweep out all the wings and doing vertical loops like braindead, and it always work. I do this with a F-5 and finally he lost all his energy and die. I do it with 4 enermy fighters and shoot down one of them and manage to survive until friendly MLD comes and took out the other three.

I think the Su-7's aren't actually that bad of planes, they have fantastic energy retention and actually pretty good maneuverability at 500-800 km/h. If they had flares they would be extremely competitive.

I grinded it for my GRB lineup as an backup for MiG-27K and by spading I get to like it. I always toss bomb (with CCRP) 4 x FAB-500s and then use the 6 x R-60Ms for players. I used 2 gunpods prior but the didn't have a lot of usage for me and you are that much nimbler without it. Using it at 30 minutes of fuel.

@@willsimpson3783 nope unfortunately incorrect. I have 200+ games with it. This thing is a sitting duck it cant defend itself against anything because apparently nothing and ground clutter no longer exist. Chaff doesn't work. And no matter how defensive you fly the missle will find you. Your acceleration is decent but is nothing compared to most the things you fight against. Which consists of f-16s and mig-29s and sometimes viggens. If you get into a dogfight your gonna win it with your better low speed handling but theres zero point to because of someone already sent a sarh missle at you. Its a good jet but currently playing it its painful. And considering there are premiums that perform significantly better at a lower br and the fact you'll never see a down tier the su-17m4 should sit at 10.7 or 10.3

The MLD and MLA will be getting R-60Ms in the next patch. They should be very nice having all aspect R-60s with R-24s.

@@perennialE this didn't age well MiG-29 is like worse the MLD... it's so broken and turns like a brick for what ever reason... They need to do a major overhaul how flying works in this game... their way was fine for earlier planes but for these new ones? That in theory have INFINITE amounts of pull but just can't because they have limiters installed... thanks to Fly by wire system MiG-29 as of right now is very scuffed tbh

i have 600++ kills on it and 350+ deaths. If you are in trouble go to rate fight. even with out afterburner you spin at 900++ kmh. 24 sec turn rate not bad

I only ever played the Su-22M3, but the 17M4 seems to fix all the problems of the M3. It has way more flares AND R-60Ms instead of sad R-60s Edit: Locking missiles with the R-60M is funny, but more often than not, it just becomes an annoyance, as the enemy you're jousting gets a free frontal flare as soon as he launches his missile

The SU22 with 6 r60s and 4 500kg bombs op. No r60ms but you burn all your fuel on the bomb run and usually get atleast 2 kills. Su17 have custom loadouts?

What is a Nile Red ? 9:51 there is plenty of R60M in high ranks R60M and R60MK Mig-23M, Su-17M2 and M4, Mig-27M, Mig-27K and the Su-25and 35K have the R60MK also don't forget the German Mig-23MF has the R-60MK, Mig-21bis-SAU and more to come so there's a lot of R60M's in the game "silly" and this patch coming up radar is going to take a turn supposedly.

In air rb this thing gets fucked by 12.0 so I just hate it and think it isn't good at all. They should have put it at 10.7 since 100/100 matches it faces F14/F16 premium F4S/MiG23ML spam or Yak 141/MiG29, sometimes some Tornados and Mirages but all in all 12.0 American/Soviet Toptier that can get some easy points because if the first missile won't hit at least the 8th will. Add 16k repair cost and you have a very fine sl burner. Those who don't have premium have an even more effective Sl burner. I'd recommend it if you think you have too much sl. 3/10
